I really don't understand how people gave this movie rating more than 7.0 but i truly recommend that it's only a ladies movie and didn't concerned with males as It's starting plot only shows three girls of whom daughters we don't know. Daily routine of an aged person is described by three daughters step by step and in a proper sequence. Even the things of daily life is so much repeated that even I didn't watched the movie completely as it rotates only in a daily life routine of an aged person who got retired from his job & as well as near from his life also. Medicines, Insurances, ENTs etc. Are discussed again and again and again.

Looking at good reviews, thought it would be interesting. But it's way too boring, bakwas! Story revolves around 3 distant sisters coming together to take care of their father in his last days n trying to reconcile their differences. Whatsoever, story doesn't have anything to offer- neither a message nor an interesting plot. There are no sensible dialogues, excitement, thrill. Available in Netflix dubbed in Hindi. My ratings 1/10! Looking at good reviews, thought it would be interesting. But it's way too boring, bakwas! Three sisters meet to see their father off. He's dying of cancer and is being taken care of by the hospice at his own home. The whole film takes place inside a poky rent-controlled flat somewhere in NY. It feels more like a play than a film. The father has been on the brink of death for the last few days. Sibling rivalry and mutual suspicion simmers between the sisters as they wait. In some parts of the film the hammy acting was so bad i felt embarrassed for the players. In summary, it's quite a forgettable film. Maybe if you've been in the same situation of having to watch a loved one die, you might relate better.

I anticipated that this would be a good watch. It was tedious, and waay too long. Character developement was non existent. These three supposedly had vastly different lives and we never got to really understand why except they had different mothers. The peripheral characters had no signifigant purpopse really and could have just been eliminated. If you have ever seen August Osage County, you would see a much better version of the family dynamic at work between three grieving daughters. The brief resurrection at the end made no sense as anyone who has watched a parent dying knows once they are comatose they usually don't wake up to tell you their life story. I wanted to like this but just couldn't.

Three sisters come together for the passing of their father in his NYC apartment where he is in the final stages of a terminal illness. The trailer hints at a wry and quirky film, but niggling animosity becomes the dominant theme. The dialog-heavy narrative mainly revolves around petty resentments between the oldest and youngest daughter, while the middle sister attempts to keep the peace. The trio of accomplished actors in the main roles struggle to keep things interesting, but many of the scenes are repetitive with similar content and tone. Overall the project delivers a low-key experience without much of a pay-off. The characters go through minimal development as the story moves towards its inevitable conclusion, where quirkiness does finally make a fleeting appearance, but it's too little too late.

I think this is going to be very long and no one will read it lol but ok let me get my point across. Of all the tragic or miserable drama movies that I could watch or have watched, it has never occurred to me that I would hope that this ridiculous play that is like a movie, would end as soon as possible. Despite the number of desperate attempts to gain the viewer's sympathy or even reach the level of logic or depth, first of all I don't know if it was necessary or part of the movie or movies like this, which is the location, I mean the house and the vibes..etc, to be this depressing and at the same time superficial and at the same time simplistic despite the absurd feelings and despite the dialogues, narration and characters being far removed from these feelings that he is trying to convey through cinematography, with the exception of the character of Natasha. Speaking of characters of course the film is poorly written so of course there is no performance from very good to above, and I would like to mention Elizabeth Olsen specifically. I mean this girl barely convinces you. She is exaggerating a lot and her performance is to say the least is comical, superficial, and vulgar and very annoying to watch her acting for me.. and as if she is somehow this troubled girl in every family and the beloved girl too and she is also the middle sister who solves all the problems at the same time and everyone thinks she's flawless. I mean, I loved her in Love and Death, but isn't she like kinda playing herself everytime? I mean I will not deny that she is good at being a superhero in her own way, but I cannot here, I am sorry. Well, the other performances are not that good but not that bad I guess, and I can only praise Natasha like I said, I kinda felt connected with her a bit, her acting was good. Though her writing is poor of course the vulgar, outcast, and addicted character that you see everywhere but this also depends on the plot of the film as well and its writing lol, I mean these characters may serve you as well and has a purpose and not just their situation for the sake of their situation. Well, there are many films of this type and I understand and they are not for me for sure but there are a few, and I would like to mention in particular "The Father" which is one of the best films in recent years that discusses the same narrative style with the same deep and influential topics inside that box, but this is definitely not one of the good ones or from my perspective at least. I will only thank a little bit of the second half of the film and the fight scene, and there was some substance and improvement in the boring and slow pace, it could have continued in a good way but the beginning and the ridiculous dialogues tell you everything basically. The film lacked a lot indeed and the deviation a little outside the gloomy text, which lost or could not even have the viewer's sympathy. You needed here specifically to know why they ended up like this, why and how and explain this and that. Delve into some of the reasons and problems in terms of the characters and their story instead of just watching them and sharing their problems without justification and reasons. Or the ending that I don't know what did it want ..and the father not showing up until that moment and his silly lecture or his words that I think have no wisdom in them, if only it could have been replaced with several other useful options, at least a good ending. "empty, incomplete, boring to the point of ridiculousness and bad" this is what the movie is all about but what the director thought he was making or just wanted to be like just a simple drama movie more like a play about three different daughters.

Interesting choice of title. Showing that even if we mainly see the daughters of a dying man, the man is centric to the story because he is the reason, and only he, why we see them interact with each other in this dramatic point of their life. Also, it is interesting to me how at first they seemed so different from each other, with distinct personalities and by the end they blend - not much, but at least their personalities are more into one - with their common goal sinking in. That's why their bond will be stronger after. Great acting from the three leads but with no moments of brilliance. Just a sad showcase of the power of grief and all its steps. Not a movie one can enjoy, let's say, but one you can appreciate.

Very heartfelt film. I don't get moved often but this one was great and the subtle twist brought it on harder. The reviews I've read about it being simple, or not "film" worthy are most likely people who have gone on with a life that has never been hit or struck by something as detrimental or destructive as this, and that is the only reason you read negative reviews. Sometimes it's not just about production quality or perfect acting and to reiterate "acting" but when you've dealt with or lived a life with multiple siblings and brothers and sisters and the other thing that brings you close is death you will understand that your silly reviews will likely change later in life when you see what this movie truly is, I hope you are strong enough when the time comes.

I understand what they were trying to do with this movie but it was just a terrible execution. Talk about cringy watching the hospice nurse talk to the daughters every day about their father. Having worked in medicine and in the field, this is absolutely the worst. Additionally, having family who went through hospice, this too was awful and misrepresented. The exchanges between the sisters looked and felt like real life because the actors are seasoned but other than that, this was tough to watch. I like the ending but the way this came together was weird and a bit awkward. I would not recommend.
