"About Him & Her" feels incredibly genuine and is such a heartfelt romance story. Its structure is a nice break away from the standard structure you often find in a romance movie. It's refreshing to see a story that doesn't get too muddled in its characters or some grand old meet-cute. The actors have so much chemistry with one another even though they don't often share the same space. The cinematography is delicate and beautiful which compliments the warm soft lighting. Every element of this movie oozes with warm romance and it has a quality touch to it. If you are a fan of love, a hopeless romantic, or just enjoy quality cinema, you should give this a watch!

Exactly at the halfway mark, the movie implodes
This is two Act film and that fact is key to this review. In the first Act we have one of the most original romcoms in decades. The two leads meet via a phone accident and have an entire relationship over the wire. The dialog is so sharp you can get paper cuts. The direction is brilliant. The camera is never allowed to show the full facial features of either lead, which creates an undercurrent of curiosity that further hooks the viewer. Very McLuhanesque. The first Act was so good it reminded me of Artifice Girl, another unexpected treat for 2023. Then almost precisely at the halfway point the two leads finally meet and the film implodes. Turns out that the script's brilliant handling of a distant relationship is unable to develop any reality or empathy when the leads are actually together in frame. One almost wishes that another creator picks up the idea ... and does it right. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." I liked this one very much.
Full of details and interesting story-telling, it developes a romance, which is INTERESTING to watch.
I liked the organization of the film-making, the timeless format of visual presentation.
No ideology filled in it - it's pure and artistic.
What I did not like: It was a "bit" slow and some exaggerations are in place.
But the movie seems complete and not exaggerated as a whole.
Much more: It's a beautiful love-story to watch!
Believable and well executed!
Highly recommanded.
Especially for people, who don't like the "modern" fast-paced way of things full of gender-propaganda!
8/10.

"About Him & Her" is a film like none other, chronicling these characters' swift fall into romance. This story reminds of a time before distracting mobile devices and social media when people connected and listened to one another; I can't help but yearn for a connection as beautiful and as genuine as the one displayed between "him and her." I read in another review that the actors didn't see one another until after filming. Now that's a level of commitment that brings sincerity to this story. You can feel it! Not to mention the beautiful cinematography and lighting throughout this film; it's incredibly immersive and quite impressive that these components were able to maintain my attention and focus (I say this as a viewer with a short attention span who is used to seeing the actors' faces). My overall take is: watch this film!

"About him & her" is a tender tale of young love, synchronicity and late 80's nostalgia told in such a fun and unusual way, it's sure to tug at your heartstrings and not let go for weeks to come. The story is beautifully written and executed, the cinematography is just stunning and the chemistry between the two actors is undeniable! Every department was in complete tonal alignment in the telling of this delicate and deeply moving encounter between two unlikely strangers whose phone lines happened to cross in a serendipitous twist of fate. I would recommend this film to anyone who's ever been in love!

Deeply moving and emotional to its core, the actors do an incredible job bringing their quietly tormented characters to life and their immediate palpable connection is guaranteed to make you long for the time when phone lines got crossed. The electric chemistry between the two leads fills the space between them long before the characters actually meet up, I can't believe the actors didn't meet until after filming. Every element of the production design (especially the fort scene) and lighting feels painstakingly curated to maintain the beautiful sense of longing between Him and Her. Not typically a fan of earnestness, but this movie manages to hit hard without resorting to cliches in a way most romantic movies are unable to.
