Hidden in Plain Sight

This film should be taught in every film school as what NOT to do when making a film. 1. The plot is played-out and predictable. 2. The hair and wardrobe is atrocious on every "actor," especially the wigs for the main character in the flashback sequences. 3. The acting is horrendous and overdone. Soap opera-esque without the talent. 4. The Score is way too loud for normal people to actually want to sit through this garbage, hence me watching 20 minutes and then realising it's not going to get better. I fast-forwarded to see if I was correct, and I was. 5. The writing is the worst I think I've ever seen (and I WORK in film.) The opening scene was a major tip-off at how terrible this film would be. Always go with your gut. Save your time and hearing and avoid watching this film. And that one 10/10 that is up here? That's clearly someone who has money invested in this rubbish film's way of hoping to recoup any costs wasted on this joke of a film.

Great plot, but not a good way to approach or succeed in it. Besides the predictable plot, the sound was terrible. The music was louder than the actors. I had a hard time even with subtitles. I liked where the storyline was heading, but the approach was just ridiculously bad...

This movie is so bad I don't want to be the only one who's seen it. I rated it 10 so that I can trick people into watching this as netflix had tricked me. There are sections where I feel the kid acted better but then I felt wow no. 10/10 people shouldn't watch this.

Apparently a part time waitress single mother can afford a brand new Volvo. Plus a 40 year old woman trying to play a 26 year old. Made for TV, averagely acted drivel. Turned it off after 25 minutes.

I created an account just so I can say this movie is awful. It didn't make any sense like this man stole her kid and she didn't call the police not one time. This movie is dumb, too long, and her mama is a punk that's why her daughter is one too!

I wanted to like this movie. It was very predictable but I thought it might go somewhere good... It had a pretty typical storyline...woman trying to get away from abusive partner, a kid is involved, then of course a new love interest comes into the picture. As many other reviews have said, the "background" music was too loud and distracted from the actual dialect that you needed to hear so you knew what was going on. Silly sub-plots like the friend having issues with her boyfriend and he sneaks around in the dark, or the flashbacks that were a bit unbelievable. Had to laugh at the face she pulled in the mirror when she found out she was pregnant. It's like she was directed to cry to herself and be heartbroken. Anyway...predictable ending (happily ever after of course). Plus she becomes an expert gun user when she was so shaky? Shoots him not once but twice to make sure...hmmm! Not sure why the name is different (Netflix in Australia lists it as Hidden In Plain Sight), regardless - it really isn't worth your time.

So, this movie was just okay. Nothing to write home about. I typically judge a movie off of its plot. Although the plot was good there were a few things that were horrible. 1. The sound! OMG!!! Not sure who was in charge of it but I felt like I missed half of the movie because the music was louder than the cast. 2. The acting was mediocre. Some actors were good but the majority of them could use some more acting classes. 3. Since I pay attention to detail, I couldn't help but see that when Katie was on the bridge wardrobe had her tuck her bra straps, TACKY! They could've given her a strapless bra. Other than those obvious flaws, the movie was okay.

A woman has a secret new life away from an abusive killer man. She has his kid. But her Mother lets it slip and he's after her. Meanwhile she has a new love. When the ex takes her kid she's in a dilemma since she faked her death. The kid looks old enough not to get in a car with someone he doesn't know. It's a moderately watchable Lifetime style thriller. Especially when the kid tries to run away from the dad. The cast is okay. The heroine is quite believable, bad guy looks bad, the good guy looks good. And the ending is alright.

Worst acting ever. Horrible sound quality. Cant believe I watched the entire movie. Kept hoping it would get better.

The plot is totally predictable and it's obviously a low-budget thriller, but I still found it thoroughly entertaining. Perfect for a late-night guilty pleasure. The sound had problems and parts of the movie were definitely laughable, but it is what it is. Just what I wanted. And the acting wasn't half bad.
