Script is dreadful, no action. Camera work is good....... That's literally the best thing I can say. I love zombie movies and post apocalyptic movies even the slow ones but I expect some action and good dialogue, this has none. And the lead is naked for so much of the start but really why.... She hasn't got the body to be prancing around naked, no tits at all and I'm a straight woman so I Defo did not want to see that. Oh yeah and who stands up completely naked out of the water, it's up to her calves bending down to splash water on her face. Pervy director that's who......
Please don't waste your time with this movie, reviews must be bogus, saying its the most amazing movie, oh I waited months for this and was blown away. What? Are you kidding?
What a waste of time

This movie is one of the greatest zombie movies ever made, the movie doesn't contain much violent scenes or blood, because this is not the main goal here, the main goal is about the human souls and how they may survive such world. How they may forgive, forget, find reasons to live and fight, and move on! It resembles the walking dead-the PC game not series-where you don't always fight, you rarely fight actually, but it's a matter of choices, decisions and taking actions, which is so much harder than just fighting physically. If you are looking for a violent, full of blood movie, this is not for you, but if you really are trying to live in such world, and see how it's like, then I totally advise you to watch this movie. My rating 8/10... P.S I really advise you to read the review written by the director here on IMDb before you watch the movie..or after..your call!

*MIGHT CONTAIN SLIGHTLY SPOILERY STUFF!* Don't be fooled by all the 10 star reviews. This movie is average at best. Maybe slightly above average. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars, or 6 out of 10. Had the ending not contained crap about some hormonal teenager, and some misplaced sense of saving the life of someone who wanted you dead and letting the one who loved you die, I'd have given it a solid 4 out of 5 or 8 out of 10. It's still watchable but like the more discerning reviewers have expressed, the ending does suck

Cover photo shows a woman with a rifle, facing the forest/woodland. Intriguing. Watched it, and wondered for the first few minutes... aroused my curiosity, and kept watching. I thought it would be repetitive, however, it kept me curious as to what would happen next. Brilliantly directed, the script not so much, but the narrative was clear. Adventurous. Kept on watching til the end, and still had me thinking of a good ending. Looking forward for more films from this group, not so much in special effects, but great story telling. Bravo !

After an outbreak that turned the people into zombies, Ann (Lucy Walters), her husband Jason (Shane West) and their baby daughter flee to woods in the place where Jason was raised. He teaches his wife how to survive in the wilderness but their baby and he die. One day, the lonely Ann helps the teenager Olivia (Gina Piersanti) and her stepfather Chris (Adam David Thompson) that is seriously wounded to survive. When Chris is recovered, he invites Ann to move with Olivia and he to the North. However Olivia has an unforgiving secret about the death of her baby and she decides to stay. Soon Chris and Ann have one night stand and Olivia is jealous with the situation. When Chris and Olivia are ready to go, Ann suggests that they should scavenge food in a nearby farm. She goes with Olivia to bring food from the kitchen while Chris creates a diversion to the zombies outside. However things go wrong with tragic consequences.
"Here Alone" is a low budget dramatic horror film developed at a slow pace and non-linear screenplay. Lucy Walters has a great performance in the role of a lonely woman traumatized by the loss of her husband and mainly by the death of her baby due to a mistake she made. There is a sexual tension with Olivia, who is coming of age in a place and a time where there is no available male. The conclusion is pessimist and hard to understand why Ann brings Olivia with her. My vote is six.

I watch a lot of Zombie films, and I've made a past-time of ragging on what the characters are doing 'wrong' or how their actions are illogical.
What immediately struck me about Here Alone was the realism. For a Zombie flick there sure aren't a lot of Zombie confrontations. And if you think about it, that's exactly what sensible humans would do - avoid confrontations at all costs. The infection idea was well played.
The tension is really good. The 'hero' is not particularly well suited to her survivalist role that has been forced on her. She has suffered several hugely traumatic events yet, somehow, she has found the strength of will to carry on.
This film isn't a catalog of Zombie kills. It is more about meeting the day to day needs and surviving the Zombie apocalypse without losing your humanity. The situation of taking in the Father and Step- daughter was a nice study of group dynamics. Groupings of 3 are prone to fracture and that's precisely what happens here.
Interesting and thoughtful film. Action junkies won't like it. The well-rounded Zombie aficionado should add it to their list as an outlier on the Zombie Matrix.

Usually I don't reference other's reviews, but one said "this is what the walking dead wants to be," another said "unpredictable", only one other review said what this film is: bad. This film is boring, poorly written and actually is pretty dumb. I like nature scenes as much as the next person who enjoys nature, but the first twenty minutes tell you little about what's going on other than the main character is bathing in some lake and taking water from it, while living out of a car. The acting is so-so since no one really has to stretch. Some biological event has taken place "A virus" that is laying waste to humanity. I don't want to spoil anything so that's all I say. The few infected who show up have makeup that wouldn't make it on FACE OFF. But the later human interpersonal interactions are so telegraphed and the ending is so stupid, that I'm amazed I was able to sit through this at all. I'm fairly sure that the good reviews came from people who know those who made this, or worked on it, something all too common on IMDb. So if you want to waste part of your life (as I'm sure many of us have done) watch this. If not, skip it.

"Here Alone" describes the survival a woman in the woods after escaping from an epidemic viral infection leading to a zombie apocalypse. She needs to hide herself not to be found by zombies. Well, I am not a top fan of zombie movies. This is supposed to be horror film; however, I did not found it horrific and scary at all but had a paint of drama in it. Indeed, Lucy Walters as Ann played very well. This is a merit for the film but the movie story was not fascinating, a lot of crap dialogues which made it slightly boring. I think the other works including make up, filming and directing were acceptable. Overall, I rate it 4 and this film cannot be tasty for anyone.

This genre bender is tough to categorize. While the setting is post zombie-apocalypse(ish) this is certainly no horror or scifi film. Even drama doesn't really fit.
What it is:
A solid bit of cinematography on a low budget.
Reasonably well written with believable characters.
Well acted by all 3 of the main characters.
What it isn't:
Well paced. While the writer and/or director was obviously aiming for a slow burner this smolders briefly before going out. The plot is simplistic...survive.
Interesting. While it is(in my opinion) believably written, the biggest threat in the zombie-apocalypse seems to be death by boredom.
Engaging. While the characters are reasonably realistic, I really was hoping some zombies would show up to relieve the monotony.
Enjoyable.
All things considered, I cannot specifically state that this is a bad movie...it's just not a good one. I can't say I really regret seeing it, but I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on it either.

This movie worth a least 7, it did hold my interest till the end . I recommend you don't read reviews before watching the first time. It is not loaded with special effects and that is a good thing. it worked well for me with the slow process, the main protagonist is very charismatic. 8.2
