I loved this movie. I think Michelle did an excellent job as Harriet. I also like the realness of the movie. Kids do eat weird things and get dirty. I also liked the adventures the nanny, Rosie O'Donnel, took the kids on. Overall it was a very fun and entertaining movie that even little kids will like.

Meanwhile, anyone over the age of thirteen will probably find it boring. The title character comes across as the sort of person who does everything possible to entertain herself with no regard to anyone's wellbeing; seriously, some of actions seem kind of nasty. Basically, the little ones will very likely spend the whole time laughing. No one else.

I once saw this movie when I was little back in the late 90s. I barely remembered it, but a few scenes were floating around in my memories. After watching it again recently, I have to say it's a great movie. The story of a young girl who spies on people with her secret notebook is a funny one. And things get more crazy once her secrets are revealed. It also stars Rosie O'Donnell as Harriet's nanny, and her performance is great too. There are certain movies from the 90s that are special because of their quirky, natural vibe, and this movie is full of it. I'd recommend watching this movie. It's funny, entertaining, and something to remember fondly years later.

"Harriet the Spy" has to be one of Nickelodeon's greatest movies ever created! Michelle Trachtenberg was flawless in her role as Harriet M. Welsch as she displays such emotion and energy, that her acting made Harriet a very likable character. I love the way that Harriet is spunky and eager to learn more about life and that just makes me love her character more. I also love Rosie O'Donnell's role in this movie as she acts as Harriet's guide to learning more about life by encouraging her to write about what she sees out in the open. The scenes where Harriet is tortured by her classmates because she wrote some nasty things about them, is both intense and realistic as we actually see Harriet suffering from losing her two best friends and how she ends up distrusting everyone around her. "Harriet the Spy" is definitely one of Nickelodeon's classics that can't be forgotten for a long time.

I just saw this film yesterday morning - ideal relaxation for the holiday weekend. The story was OK, maybe a bit shallow for my taste - I'm haven't been a kid for a long time - but I was really taken with the acting. Everyone played his/her part beautifully, completely credible, and none was the frightful red-haired brat as used to be portrayed in children's movies. I was particularly taken with Harriet herself, and am not surprised that she has gone on to greater things. The main lesson learned from this film appears to be that two wrongs do not make a right. Bush note!

Another 90s banger that was pure fun. It's about a girl who plays detective, and she uses her special ability to betray her friends then they all hate her, then she spies on someone, plays hero and cracks a big case. Simple plot, yes, but an iconic movie. The children were good actors. This movie is an underrated joint. It's another one of those movies based on the book which may or may not be accurate, nevertheless i thought this movie was great.

This movie was not what I expected, but I was not disappointed; I was rather entertained. I'm not familiar with the books regarding Harriet the Spy, so I thought the movie was going to be about a kid who uncovered and foiled some illegal plot she stumbled across. I had no idea it was about a girl who aspired to be a writer. It was more dramatic than I expected too, but very realistic..it was about loosing friends and winning friends back-a more realistic story than uncovering and foiling an illegal plot. I loved the city scenes of the children running around Ontario in the autumn. I found it to be rather cinematographic.
