The jokes were off time, not funny , reused subject matter. Could not watch this but for 8 minutes. The laughter from audience sounds like a laugh track. Never heard of her and would never go see her. I think the laughter was added by hbo after they realized she is no stand up. She acts like making a joke about , joke that we head over and over. The god joke was lame and way over used. Richard prior used to do these jokes but he made em work. She need to find a new profession she will never sell out a show, i grew up watching masters, Prior, Murphy & Cheech n Chong. They were funny, She is mot . The laughter is fake and added in the cutting room...sound like 80s sit com laughter...

An almost one hour standup show from los angeles, by the co star of hacks (also showing on Max) ! What steps her parents went to in trying to have a boy... clearly, the process didn't work as planned. And who knew she was the daughter of laraine newman?? Too cool. Why she's late to work, what her real purpose is at work. Why she drives a prius and why she's a vegan. And it's not for the usual reasons! And why they only planted male trees in parks for a while. Why we need to save the bees, and the female trees! Pretty funny stuff. At one point, she starts a joke over... was that for effect, or did she really just want to start over again? She shares a lot, and gives a lot of opinions... and some attitude! Directed by sandy honig.

Thoroughly enjoyed this performance. It felt like a one woman show with incredible performance value. It's currently sitting at a 6.2 rating which is absolutely criminal. I sincerely hope to be able to watch her live one day. I found the special to be incredibly polished. Her facials were enough to elicit laughter not only from me but from her audience. The production value felt new and innovative. Each look into the camera was well timed and used just enough to make them work. Her bit on meditation for someone with ADHD was perfect, and the second song choice was *chef's kiss*. Please take the time to watch and give a rating that this performance is worthy of.

Are we all just becoming "yes-people" these days in hopes of being noticed while further stuffing over-inflated egos? Or is it okay to like her in Hacks (awesome writers), and strongly dislike her special?? 90% of it was her old material and the rest was a self-petting-fest where she shamelessly offers multiple reasons why she feels she should be adored. There's self-confidence, and then there's just flat out neediness. She's comes off as VERY insecure and has found an outlet by getting on stage and flaunting a backwards superiority complex in hopes we're all still in agreement when she leaves the stage. If only she'd deflate that snowball ego a teeny bit. So many of us would like that so much better. Then the 2-drink minimum wouldn't be needed!! I decided to watch the special to give her a second chance and unfortunately can only offer one star in the end. She's a GREAT actress though and is very lucky to have landed the role of Ava and I hope she continues to act!! We'd love that!!! Hats off to the writers (mainly Paul & Lucia) who give her awesome lines, and thankfully Jean Smart can offer star power times a million!! I mean, if she wants to talk meds and substances and pedestals, and psychic abilities then myself and 3 of my friends are neck & neck with her already. Also, the entrance was stolen from Sarah Silverman. Just be real next time and get out of that superiority bubble. You don't need to show why you think you're the very best/very worst to be liked. The neediness was just way too much for me. Great actress though. I hope she finds a way to be happy with herself, with or without* laughs, applause, or awards. Just be real. Stop trying so hard. You might be surprised at the result.

I honestly couldn't finish watching this standup set because it was simply not funny. While I love "Hacks" and find Hannah's character incredibly humorous, and I genuinely think she excels in that role, this performance suggested she shines brightest with scripted material. Throughout the set, I didn't laugh once. It was painfully awkward, missing the charm and precise timing she brings to her character on "Hacks." Hannah's strengths appear to lie more in acting and delivering well-crafted lines than in creating original humor. The set could have benefitted from the vibrant energy and sharp wit of her scripted roles. Unfortunately, it was a misstep that didn't leverage her comedic talents effectively. Despite its slick production values, the standup set was a hollow display of comedy, visually appealing yet devoid of any real substance or humor.

She and Jean are so good in Hacks, but this is a bizarre and welcome introduction in to a very brilliant and anarchical mind.
I mean, who knew a few slices of the high school sports-oriented history (no spoilers) of this ballsy, artsy, nerdy woman could be so surprising and funny.
I am not a big fan of TV stand-up (though I loved "I'm Dying Up Here") but she wooed me in like a pro.
Yes, I DO want to see comedy about climate change and bees and trees and men and women if it's done the way Hannah does it.
It also gave me insight into why 'Hack's is so great. Very different styles of comedy challenge viewers (or at least me) to see the humor and the macabre in our lives. Grateful for some resounding belly laughs at a dark, accurate, and refreshing lens on a crazy world.
Loved it!

I honestly love her in Hacks, apart from a few overly PC moment, which is brought back down to earth by her amazing co star. This special has a few funny moments in this. I am a female, but I feel there was too much male bashing for me. I love her candor and the straight face she keeps while telling her stories, yet it fell a little too flat for me. I did watch it all way though just to give a fair review. But, I don't want to watch comedy about veganism, climate change and feminism. I want to watch comedy to give me escape from these political issues. Waiting for the next season of Hacks though :)

I remember seeing Hannah on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert a few years ago and immediately realized that I was watching an amazing new comedic talent, and this one hour HBO special just proves it. She combines some serious acting chops along with well thought out stagecraft to tell her extraordinarily funny takes on her life and the crazy messed up world that we live in. A while back my daughter told me I should watch "Hacks" -actually, it was more like an edict - so i binged watched the first two seasons and and continued with the third. While the entire cast is wonderful Hannah really stands out. I am sure that she will continue to make us laugh along with having a great career as an actress. Watch this special, you won't regret it!

Okay, this is the first time that I've ever seen Hanna, do anything ever. She's cute. She's lovable, she's incredibly funny. She opens her life up there. She throws herself right out there for the world to see and if you just can't immediately adore adore her honesty her vulnerability. Her bizarre humor, her crudeness, her unapologetic humor and her damn fine wit, well, you got a problem. This girl absolutely had me enjoying life the whole time I was watching her show. Quality is all I can say. I hope she does a lot more of them. I am going to seek out anything done by her. I've been binge watching Hacks, and I really don't watch shows like that, but Im a true fan of Hanna. She is awesome.
