This is a good creepy horror story for what it is. Not too serious. Just a fun movie for October. Sure, save the best horror films for the end of the month. But this one is fine. This is not a spoiler, but it is hugely important. One of the characters runs a nice relaxing hot bath, and proceeds to soak in the tub with the shower curtain INSIDE the tub. What kind of a monster does that?! What kind of director would allow that to be a thing?! That is the real question here and the very real horror of this story.

Halloween Party (2019) is a movie I recently watched on Amazon Prime. The storyline follows a college where an email chain becomes popular. After you answer the questionnaire in the email chain and wait for the response your future is set on if you'll be killed by local ghouls. Can a group of kids who don't want to be the next victims stop the email killers? This movie is directed by Jay Dahl (There are Monsters) and stars Amy Groening (Goon), T. Thomason (Moonshine), Marietta Laan (Book of Blood), Shelley Thompson (Labyrinth) and Jeremy Akerman (Hobo with a Shotgun). This movie had potential based on the backstory and overall premise. Unfortunately the subplots are uneven with some better than others. The flashbacks to the children are actually pretty good, but that's about the only redeeming aspect of the film. The acting is atrocious as are the horror elements, which are disappointing. The ending is intense when the main characters have to finally face the villain(s), but it was too little too late. The entire movie should have been like the end. I'd score this a 3/10 and recommend skipping it.

I don't understand the low rating on Amazon. Not scary, but so much fun. Think of a "Happy Death Day" type horror and enjoy.

This is a good popcorn film with some scares here and there. The acting was pretty good too which I was surprised. It's definitely a B movie with a cool ending.

Vibe-wise think Happy Death Day, mixed with aspects of The Hills Have Eyes & any of those Japanese (The Grudge, The Ring, whatever) jump-scare creepfest movies. Amusing, not-too-heavy, comedic horror. With creepy stuff at times. Witty writing & the two leads are quite likable. A good bit of fun.

I watched this as part of my 31 Days of Halloween 2021 with MUCH regret! Tons of fake 7-9 reviews, assuming from the cast and crew creating IMDB accounts! More then an hour in and there were literally 2 cheaply CGI'd "jump" scares that are cut so quickly, if you blink, you'll miss them (obviously cut quickly so as to not show how cheap and laughable they look). For a "Halloween" movie there is barely any "Halloween" theming of any kind in this Production, outside of the amateur looking email-virus going around (incorrectly called a "meme"...how old was the filmmaker?! Do they even know what a meme is?) The aforementioned Halloween Party in the title...WHOA...is NOT a party at all! This very long, boring and drawn out movie could've been cut down by an hour and served as part of some cheap horror TV anthology! Budget was NO excuse for poor pacing & storytelling! Or should I mention the minutes long scene with "scary" pipe noises while one of the college guys takes a dump?! No, its not done tongue-in-cheek or for laughs, no matter how you try to sell it! Also a
"climax" ripped off of REC/Quarantine. If there is one saving grace, the acting is pretty decent, but good acting alone doesn't save a borefest of a "Halloween horror" movie! I watched this back-to-back with "Black Pumpkin (2018)" & this made THAT movie look like John Carpenter's classic "Halloween" in comparison. If you're looking for a good Halloween film, look elsewhere and avoid this POS!

So it's a typical D horror - the acting isn't completely horrible. the story is silly - haunted children sending curses to people - the most frustrating part is the girl with a perfectly working phone in her hand that decides to hide instead of using the phone to call for help. LOL then there's a poop monster. it's ridiculous. you won't be scared unless you're like - seven or something.

In the very first scene, there's a guy "joking" about doing a Roofie party. That was enough for me to not watch any further. Getting roofied and raped is not funny. Disgusting.

Considering the amount of terrible, schlocky, unfunny low budget horror out there, this one is actually pretty good. Original plot, good dialog, funny jokes and decent acting from a cast of unknowns make this eminently watchable. Effects were minimal and not great but didn't detract from the fun. Some great creepy moments too. You could do much worse.

Right from the get-go, starting with the clunky looking interactive mere of death, I gladly followed this twisted, squirmy, scary, funny, and, layered story all the way to it's starting, airborne conclusion. I can't wait to order this on DEE VEE DEE!
