Few minutes of pointless gore at the start just to get you interested in watching this 'movie'. And then it goes to 'found footage' of talking about nothing and walking around. Then another two minutes of gore in the end of this one hour flick. Thats about it, lazy effort.

I enjoyed the overall concept of this movie... I love the open road shots leone did here . Adding that scope & a few scenes were pretty phenomenal inside the building and tunnels. I wish the execution was done a little better... heavy B movie acting/dialog; it was hard to really get into it fully, but worth a watch as a horror fan.

You don't need CGI and special effects to create gore when the movie is so darkly lit that you can't see what is happening. Good shock value I guess and Ashley looks good in her blood-spattered top. Just skip to these few minutes and be done. Oh and can the main actor be any more annoying? Are people really that annoying?

Looking back on this film, I suspect that the creator's intent was to invent characters so devastatingly unlikeable that after the first ten minutes of exposure to them ensures that you will be wishing for their deaths in the most savage way possible.
Using the talk show to give us the backstory wasn't a bad idea, but he execution was lacking. I feel that they spent too much time focusing on the host and not enough giving us the details as to why we care about the building that's going to be demolished.
What did I like about the film? I liked the contrasting shots between the interior and exterior of the building, and I liked how short the run time was.

Ed Crow is the backstory killer who has killed over 300 people in one abandoned hospital. Tommy (Brian Patrick Butler ) and Ashley (Amy Cay), newly engaged are traveling by road and Ashley want to take pictures with gruesome development.
The film is a blood fest and not very entertaining. It opens with an electric drill going into a woman's private part. I should have turned it off then.
Guide: F-word. Nudity. Brief rape.

This film had the vibes of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It flows well and keeps you at the edge of your seat.

WARNING! This movie is not for those with weak constitutions!!!
Here's the way it is: if you're the kind of person who needs CGI and multimillion dollar effects and production in order to enjoy movies - you're probably not into gore movies anyways.
The rest of you will enjoy Hacksaw! The cast and crew put as much blood, sweat, and tears into making this blood curdling indie horror film as the horrifying characters did killing everyone!

I just finished rewatching Hacksaw and wow man! It has all practical effects and it's done well. Looks realistic so I have to give credit on that. I dislike CGI for the most part. It usually takes me out of the film because it looks really fake.
I like that the story's key theme is it's something we've all done...gone on a road trip (and when it goes south...good god!!). With every good horror story it has elements of things we've all experienced. This has the road trip to meet up with family to surprise them with news, and the realistic relationship between its main characters. They felt like a real couple because they love each other and know how to dig at each other to drive the other one crazy. Felt like my last relationship.
I like the look of the film because it has a dirty grittiness that reminds me of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The gore is in your face and doesn't hold back. All I'm going to say is you start off on a high note and what an ending!! For all you gore hounds out there this is one you don't want to miss. If you like the stuff in Saw, Rob Zombie films and Hatchet then Hackaw will definitely have a place in your heart. Yes, this is a slasher, but it also has supernatural elements and some type of monster/fiend named Happy. I love that it's left to your imagination at this point, but I want to find out more!
Nice job by the actors Amy Cay and Brian Butler giving their characters a believable feel. I saw that this is the director Anthony Leone's first full length film. That excites me as a horror fan because I can only imagine what he has in store for us in the future.
Now, is this movie going to change lives and win best picture at the Oscars? No, but it's what all us horror fans love. It's honest and not trying to be something it isn't.
So if you're down for some gore and escapism and who isn't at this point then give Hacksaw a watch. If you're a true horror fan...You Won't Be Sorry!!

I love horror movies. I have seen more than I can count. Within those movies I have seen many low-budget movies, some of which I have felt were done well and really enjoyed. My point is, low-budget shouldn't be used as an excuse. I know people have give praise for the shock value in the opening scene with the drill. I will admit I have never seen anything like that before, but it just seemed pointless to me. Complete waste of an hour of my time. You've been warned.
