This title isn't high up in realism points, but which rom-com does anyway? The movie uses some stereotypes to drive a point home, and I believe they did it quite well.
If you can't get past "that's totally unrealistic", I don't recommend the movie. If you're like me though (willing to suspend my disbelief for fun/see the point before judging it), my guess is there's a high chance you'll enjoy it. Not up there with the greats but quite a good watch when you're bored.

I thought that there was really good chemistry between the two main characters. From an artistic standpoint, there were some plot elements and character developments I didn't think were totally needed. They do however drive the story, which seemed to be their purpose, so I can accept them. I liked the film for its message about commitment. I am not saying the film is a classic, but it was pleasant. The characters in this film have a lot of depth and the realism with which they are portrayed by the actors is shocking at times. I think the film is worth seeing. A true gem. A gritty, hard movie about gritty, hard people, but it's also intelligent.

This movie is not great. The beginning is boring until you finally reach the part with the ghosts. The acting is alright and the story is just fine. It could have been much better but fell flat. Emma Stone was the best part of the whole film. She made me laugh and enjoy it. Plus, Connor didn't seem to change his ways.
Overall, not worth it.

With little original humor and complete focus on sexual issues throughout the whole movie, this movies leaves much do be desired. Should for sure be rated R for crude and frank sexual talk throughout. Big disappointment to see Matt and Jennifer in such a trashy movie. The overall 'moral of the story' is decent, however the graphic nature in which the producers use to accomplish the storyline is a huge disappointment. I do expect a Michael Douglas to play the role he depicts in this movie, that of an immoral playboy, as he has portrayed such a character in many other movies dating way back to Fatal Attraction. The public has come to expect Matt and Jennifer's 'chick flick' movies to be cute and entertaining without the shallow crudeness so many other movies contain. In a nutshell, do not waste your money on this movies in the theater or on a DVD when released.

Another romcom done by Matthew McConaughey before he hit puberty. There are some touching moments while the story unfolds but overall I'm not impressed at all.

About two months ago my friends and I rented this movie and we only watched the first 5 minutes of it because my friend got bored so we took it out and watched another movie. Once they left I decided to watch it by myself since I spent 5 dollars on renting it. I wish my friends and I watched the whole thing because it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm not really a big fan of Matthew but I thought he did an awesome job on here. I think this movie should of won a lot of awards, I can't believe it got nothing.
I give it a 10/10 [:
GO SEE IT NOW.

Unwatchable dreck about a womanizing fashion photographer (who better to play him than Matthew M.?) who gets to do the Christmas Carol thing as he is visited by three ghostly gal pals in the course of one night. Nothing will prepare you for the sight of Matthew sporting a shoulder-length wig and wearing his shirt open to the navel. Jennifer Garner is his love interest and Michael Douglas does a bizarre turn as his womanizing uncle, clearly patterned on notorious Hollywood producer Robert Evans. Depending on the movie he appears in, a little bit of Matthew can go an awfully long way. This is one of those movies. This was a very bad idea for a movie. You can almost hear the Hollywood hacks dreaming this one up: "Hey! Let's update Dickens, and give it some sex appeal! We can't get Brad Pitt, but I hear Matthew Mc. might be available!" And indeed he was.

Just thought I'd write a shout-out to Amanda Walsh. What would this movie be without the memorable scenes with the actress potentially making a fool of herself but carrying it off SO SO extraordinary well SHE ABSOLUTE STEALS ALL THE SCENES SHE IS IN. Denice was a difficult part to play, in the hands of somebody else, most likely disaster. As for the other lot, so, er, last year, I mean, if I wanted Jennifer Garner, I need look no further than 13 GOING ON 30, she was prime then. I actually snapped up the DVD upon hearing that Emily Foxler of LEGEND OF THE SEEKER was in it, boy, did I make a wrong turn. But Amanda Walsh comedic excellence (not to mention her squirrel cute face) made this one a pleasant experience.
Was gonna give a 6. For Amanda's sake, that raise.
