NOTE: This review covers the Fortune Star Digitally Remastered version of Si Wang Ta (a.k.a. Game of Death II/Tower of Death). This is another disgrace to the name Bruce Lee. Not only is it another butcher job using never-before-seen Bruce Lee footage and some thrown in shots from his other movies, the plot is loose (if there is one) and just plain doesn't make sense. The fight sequences are great, however, since the fight choreographer is none other than Yuen Woo Ping...but that's all that really makes this movie even remotely interesting. I picked this up for $8, and I would consider $3 of it wasted (this wasn't bargain binned, but should be). Only die-hard martial arts movie fans should bother to watch this, and really only for the fight sequences and to be that much more complete in titles...otherwise steer clear of this title. Also, for "extras", we are "treated" to the original trailer and the "new" trailer which is nothing special at all.

Bruce Lee was a great martial artist, but this film still is probably one of the worst films ever made. It has Bruce Lee die as the result of falling off a helicopter after being hit by some kind of a ninja knife to the back of the neck but it doesn't explain how he came to be on a helicopter since the prior scene has him near but not on the helicopter which is already 200 feet in the air. It just gets downright absurd from then, like something out of a cheap comic book. Maybe the idea isn't so rotten but it isn't done with any degree of artistry from a film making point of view. There are dozens of such martial arts bombers out there, usually all made in Hong Kong. I think that Jean Claude van Dam improved the genre with adding plausible stories in his films and having film makers who know how to use the camera. Even Steven Seagal's films are way better than 90 percent of the martial arts junk movies made during the 1970s and early 1980s in Hong Kong. 'Game of Death II' falls into the category of junk cinema in my opinion, despite Bruce Lee being in it.

this film is a psychedelic hodgepodge featuring Bruce Lee in stock footage and even showing him in his childhood and youth. Fight scenes deserve a B but the rest is a hurried, chaotic mess. Scenery is most fake: when Billy Lo fights the thugs after meeting the bar girl, it is clearly a damn cheap in-studio shoot; the underground Bond-styled base of the drug dealers is just ridiculous, with a world map flashing with lights. The plot is paper-thin to non-existent and very chaotic at that: many events make no sense at all and some subplots are clearly a poor excuse for a fight scene. Miranda Austin's twenty seconds of frontal nudity are the only redeeming quality of this C-tier low-budgter with awful soundtrack, poor English dubbing and poverty-stricken scenes.

Bruce Lee would have been greatly offended by this alarming atrocity if he had been around at the time. This pile of manure is merely an excuse to shamelessly exploit the very name and reputation of one of history's greatest martial artists. Nothing is worth mentioning about this film. You get the usual clumsily tacked on footage of the man himself but it's from many years before and bears no relation to this production. The only reason I don't give this turkey a rating of 1, is because some of the fight scenes are okish.

i first seen this unique flick in 1988 and was impressed especially with the final fight scene with bobby lo and the evil chin ku.they're rivalry transferred into kung fu action made it one of the most impressive fight scenes that i've ever seen.i've seen many kung fu flicks.all of vann damme's,chuck norris'es,and practically all of everybody else's.oh yeah, all of bruce lee's flix at least 10 times apiece.but like i was saying,of all that i've watched, this one has some extreme groundbreaking stuff.i could hardly believe my eyes when i first saw it and upon purchasing it last year i was eager to let my guests check it out for themselves.everyone else that's seen it has been equally impressed, especially with the final fight scene. the rest of the movie has it's flaws but they actually ironically contridict themselves into some genuine classic unintentional 70's style kung fu humor.(i know the flix from 1981 by the way) aside from the flaws in acting and plot, this nevertheless stands firm as at least a well done project in the action fighting sense of the term project.yeah.i guess that basically sums it up.it's a bit more of a unique project of action fighting more than it is a genuine action flick. in conclusion of my point,i give the flick a 10/10in the fighting action department,a 7/10 for it's unintentional humor, and a 3/10 for storyline, acting and plot.that would probably amount to an overall rating of a 6.5/10,i'd say.which means it just barely passes overall. but once again i emphasize, the fighting mastery is unforgettable and leaves a lasting impact on martial art's enthusiast's and practitioners alike.

You know, i'm a Bruce lee fan, but this movie is cold as hell. Of course they did it after Bruce died because i really doubt the real Bruce would like to do that film been alive. It's not like the seventies movies you know, it was different, the movie was not good, the plot has not sense at all, the villains are really dumb, some good fights but nothing special in the other Bruce's films we can see better fights. So for me, well i haven't see fist of fear and fury of the dragon, but Including big boss, fist of fury, return of the dragon, enter the dragon and game of death this one is the worst. I'll give it 6/10 and only because i fell respect for Bruce Lee.

Bruce Lee's posthumous Game of Death was a confusing mishmash. But then comes a sequel with even less Bruce Lee in it. Can it be any good? Yes, the story is actually better, and even though the lead acting is done by a completely different guy the action is still very good. Overall the movie is more crazy and over the top than the actual Bruce Lee films. But I like it for what it is. There's a lot of fighting with exploding punch sounds, crazy characters, interesting locations, and the length of the movie is perfectly brief for this kind of thing. If you expect a serious film, this is not it. But if you like cheesy non-stop action where anything can happen, then you must see it!

This movie is not as bad as people say, the fight scenes are believable, and the music is pretty good. The stand-ins are ridiculous, but hey they where typical of post- Bruce Lee movies. There's even a little nudity in this one for skin fans, but overall a decent film, not better than any of Bruce's though.
