Just ease and look. When you are in the mood. It is a very lovely movie. The Coen brothers must have enjoyed it, just relax with a beer......................................................................................................................................................................

So much potential. The storyline and cast look so promising - and manage fulfil their promise fleetingly.
But fart humour? Punching a guy's lights out repeatedly? Who's this aimed at? Not your average Colin Firth fan.
There are some genuinely funny moments. I so wanted to be entertained and managed to find a little sporadic fun. But overall this is bad enough that I feel compelled to write this. What a disappointing shame.

Literally the worst movie I've ever seen. Godawful.

Perhaps I am mistaken but I thought the basic idea of a comedy was for it to be funny, and in this regard this film failed miserably. Actors going through the motions, (rescued slightly by the performance of Alan Rickman, who was without doubt the best of the bad bunch). The time you spend watching this film you can never have back, my only recommendation would be not to start watching it, and if you have already started to do so then stop immediately. Dull, dull, dull Stereotypical characters, staid 'jokes' and a predicable story. A director and actors may have got away with such a film in the 70s but such a tired formula doesn't need trotting out now. We almost smiled once hence a score better than 3. Avoid.

It works best in that time period and Maclain is her most glamorous given the height of that era. There was no need to remake this underrated classic.
This offering actually mocks the brilliant script it steals from, uses freak plastic faced actors, and turns a sophisticated plot into a tacky mess, so juvenile one feels like puking the second Alan Rickman appears naked enough on screen. The original character was very proper, not a clown for super cheap childish giggles.
The beauty from "The Mask" 's face has melted, so some of the scenes may make you wince, which may spoil your ability to suspend disbelief!
The Coens' first huge flop... oh well... that sort of remote hick theme doesn't work every time, and is becoming as repetitive as the line "you just don't don't get it, do ya????
Charade and How to Steal a Million, are a gazillion times better too, if you appreciate the genre!

Yes, some scenes were meant to be embarassing and maybe so more embarassing than it should be for a heist movie - like losing the pants scenes. I really liked Colin Firth as the educated loser who wanted to get back on his rich and mean boss, who collects paintings. It is a nice touch to show how he images the heist to go and how it ends up. Cameron Diaz fits the bill as the loud, but fun lady. Alan Rickman does his role just ok. I am writing just ok, as he seems to be a bit on auto-pilot in this movie.

A protagnist was a insensitive connoisseur of paintings. He tried to swindle his arrogant employer's money for a revenge. It was a slapstick comedy of his plan to sell the copy painting of Monet.
I felt like I had never laughed any jokes. At first, I felt bad the * body of Mr. Snape.
I liked the way to talk of hotel concierges! They talked so elegantly.

no i did like this movie, the first 30 minutes were boring (realy boring) besides that... the story is kinda weird, it doesn't make sense at all and it isn't enjoyable at all, my girlfriend fell a sleep and i did the best i can watching the whole movie.there were some jokes, not the jokes i was hoping on. the acting wasn't bad at all. Cameron diaz is a pretty good actor but its just the script that doesn't do it. if you like what happens and Vegas and bad teacher and you are hoping on a comedy like that... your wrong. I'm just going to try save you some time here and if I'm not a negative person I'm just realistic and it isn't a good movie at all. you can better go to bar and get drunk then spending your money at this. cheers

Don't bother watching it Period. I was mortally embarrassed for Firth and Rickman. Why they took this film on God only knows. It is bumbling, badly scripted and corny. The faltering attempts at slap stick and physical comedy by Firth brought tears of embarrassment to my eyes. Even the 60's type credits were badly executed and amateur. Cameron played her part well, given the genre and her comedic timing as usual was spot on However, she was bound up by a lack lustre script. The only other 'high light' in this very low mood lit film was the Japanese media representative Do yourself a favour, go for a penny farthing bike ride in 45C heat or organise a flash mob in North Korea. ANYTHING rather than watch this film.
