There's something about sequels, regardless of anything you can't help but to compare it against the original -- and judge it accordingly.
Tarantino's handiwork is obvious, and there are some excellent moments of irony and wit throughout the film.
Presumably I wasn't the only person who spotted Tarantino's tribute to Hitchcock; The opening scene of a woman in a lift being attacked by the Vampire Bats was straight out of the Birds [Tippi Hedren being attacked in the loft], and the shower scene was very Psycho.
Not bad as far as horror films go, but nothing special.

Whenever you want to WASTE your money and 90 minutes of your life, go watch this piece of "comedy". If you expected to see anything better or at least interesting after the "From Dusk 'till Dawn (1)" you're WAY wrong!!! Some criminals come out with a plan to steal money from a mexican bank, however, their leader is attacked by a couple of blood suckers, and he begins to spread the "disease" among his companions, without forgetting the idea of stealing the dollars from this bank. Now, why would a vampire need cash? Besides, the special effects are far from acceptable. If you rent this movie, please watch it with some friends, you'll have tons of fun criticizing this so called "movie".

Faithful to the source material but not enslaved to it, this fine genre film is a cult classic that surpasses the original in many ways. Superbly written and directed by a gifted master, the stage is well set for the actors to do some truly great work. Certainly Robert Patrick gives one of the finest and most inspired performances of his celebrated career. The supporting cast is also excellent and accentuates the dialogue supplied them in a superior script. The drama, the pathos, the humor of the first entry is all there and much, much more. This is one of those rare films that transcends the label of "sequel" and offers an even more intense and creative experience to the audience. Often overlooked and unrecognized as the rough gem it is, this motion picture deserves to be seen by more appreciative, sophisticated cinemaphiles on a wider basis.

A colossal waste of Robert Patrick if nothing else in this straight-to-video sequel to FROM DUSK TILL DAWN (The second sequel is way better!!!)
Nonsensical gore fest, with laughably bad dialog and fx as a bunch of small-time Texan hoods, headed up by Patrick, try to pull off another major heist by which time most of the gang have been turned into Z-Grade vampires.
Totally at odds with the original...about the only common thread is the Titty Twister and dear old Danny Trejo as "Razor Eddie." Word is, that it was originally intended for general theatrical release until after the test audience showing and the subsequent instructions from the film distributors to put it out on video rather than risk the thing being sunk by word of mouth in its first days of release.
Really lack-luster effort all round.

FROM DUSK TIL DAWN 2 just happens to be the best of the trilogy; like the FEAST trilogy years later, 2 doesn't take itself too seriously. (While the original DOES boast the hottest tabletop dance in the history of motion pictures, it's schizophrenic switch midstream from serious fright flick to slabstick comedy also makes it one of the most unEVEN movies you're ever likely to see.) Robert Patrick (who sports a pair of sunglasses in a not-so-subtle nod to another franchise) is spot-on as the wannabe leader of a bank heist gone horrorshow. All of the performances, in fact, are solid and the dialogue is some of the most realistic ever spouted in a fright film. The fx all work well enough for a send-up like this and, although it drags just a tad toward the end, it maintains its composure well enough to finish up just fine.

Five criminals get together to rob a bank in Mexico.
On his way to their rendezvous point, one of them gets into an accident, and stumbles upon the Titty Twister Bar.
This little detour sets up the terror that awaits the outlaws and the officers on their trail....
I don't know whether its the fact that I saw the brilliant original the night before, or the lame cameos at the beginning, but as soon as the title arrived, I know it wasn't going to be good.
The film has very little to with the original, and I don't even know where it rests on the Tarantino/Rodriguez movie timeline, which makes it all the more frustrating.
Patrick is there for the pay check, and the rest of the cast just try to to be too cool for school.
The script is a massive problem too, whenever there is a Tarantino type scene, its cringeworthy as it just doesn't ring true.
Action is boring, and on the whole, it shouldn't have been made.

I love you Quentin, but what were you thinking with this low-budget movie? You wrote the thing, you should have pitched in to make this movie more... digestable. Mr. Scott Speigel... what were you thinking with all of the corny camera angles. The overuse of the objectives made me look away from my TV. I guess the only positive aspect of the movie was the two minutes of Bruce Campbell in the intro.

Dusk till Dawn was a fairly competent film full of everything you need in a good action flick including a bizzare twist i.e. all the locals in the bar are vampires.Dusk till dawn 2:Texas blood money though was a whole different kettle of fish.It is a poorly thought out ploy to cash in on a successful movie.Don't get me wrong i'm a huge fan of bad films and commend them if they are in any way inventive or resourcefull, this wasn't.Texas blood money also made use of annoying camera shots it persevered with every point of view shot possible. We had the shot from the pov of a man doing press-ups,we had the shot through the red eyes of a bat and to top it off the pov from a fan moving left to right.Overall it is a highly frustrating film that should never have been made, their certainly shouldn't have been a third installment.Never see this if you haven't,and if you have i feel for you and hope the counciling is going well.
