A nice mix of home invasion and the killers on the road style thriller. Small budget British film that gave me a lot more fun than I had anticipated. It's short but just the right length for what it set out to do.

I expected the typical "cabin in the woods" thriller. I loved the twist in this that makes you completely change your original ideas of what would happen. The end was a bit abrupt, I wish they had added a bit more. Very enjoyable!

Nice idea, played out reasonably well. So i think worth a watch for anyone that thinks the premise sounds good.
the biggest downside is that the movie is made up of two halfs, when i think really as soon as you see the first 2 minutes of the second half you think, 'Ok i get it'.. but then you have to watch the best part of an hour what you got in the first 2 minutes play out in front of you.
worth a watch though

...the Swede IS stupid. And so was this movie!
We're honestly supposed to believe that Freyr would turn his back in this situation? And who wrote this mess? Apparently someone who has never been hit in the head before. No one could have done what Alva did under these circumstances. There is no concept of "time" with a serious head injury only confusion. But we're supposed to believe she's hit in the head with a hammer - twice - by killers who believed she was dead? Furthermore, open up someone's head and there's blood everywhere - paint cans full. She not only gets up unfazed with a mere dab but simultaneously strategizes while morphing into an Olympic athlete.
But wait - it gets worse.
She gets to a petrol station but instead of calling for help steals a car so she can follow her attackers. Never even a fleeting thought to get back to Freyr or remove herself from danger. Nope. She gets to the house and is able to hide in the shadows, sit on the couch to look at pictures, and put her stolen boots back on before taking out the criminals single-handedly? C'mon Man! If she's this cunning and powerful, how'd she get hit in the head in the first place?
This movie actually won an award? For what?

When there are not much reviews and they are divided between good and bad I normally have the tendency to think it's going to be bad. But this time it was the opposite as the movie, with a low budget, is a good entertaining thriller. The soundtrack did alot to it as well as you could feel the tension throughout the movie. There are not much actors but the few they were did a good job. What I liked the most about the movie was the twist that I didn't see coming. So I rate this movie a bit higher then good as they did a good job with their budget.

I have to admit, I didn't go into watching 'Fractured' with any expectations. There were a few reasons for this, the first being the lack of talk surrounding it, second, the lack of ratings/reviews online from viewers and lastly, the summary which makes it sound like a typical slasher film based on a couple whose residence is invaded by some mysterious mask figure.
I have to admit, the casting choices were odd for a film of this sort. I knew all of the cast from British TV dramas or soaps (April Pearson from Skins, Karl Davies from Emmerdale, Louisa Lytton from Eastenders and Jordan Metcalfe from Misfits) and 'Fractured' seemed very far from the acting and roles I'd known them to previously undertake. Despite all of the cast providing decent performances in the other projects I've seen them in, the acting was pretty average in 'Fractured'. Perhaps it's because I couldn't separate the actors/actresses from the previous roles I'd known them in, but none of them seemed the right fit. Although it probably didn't help that all of the characters suffered from poor characterisation and development, so there wasn't much for the cast to work with.
As I predicted, the film opens with what appears to be a young couple being played with by a mysterious figure in their country holiday cottage. However, as the plot progresses there is a twist that I didn't see coming. Unfortunately, although I admired the attempt to thwart the predictability of the film, the twist didn't have much of an impact and was rather stupid. Without giving too much away, the actions of the characters are dramatic, over the top and unbelievable. Ordinary people in real life would NOT behave the way the characters in 'Fractured' behave and it completely detracts from the entire film.
I perhaps could've accepted the characters drastic and illogical actions and behaviours IF there had been some explanation as to WHY they were that way. Unfortunately, there was little in way of substance or explanation and the result is that the whole film feels rather pointless. The ending is sudden and doesn't tie up the loose ends and I came away not really understanding what I was supposed to have taken from it.
The reason I've given it a rather average 4 star rating is because despite this, it isn't dreadful (I managed to watch it to the end and that's a positive sign since I will simply turn a film off if I'm not interested in it) and there are some redeeming qualities. The plot twist is interesting, the vibe is dark and exactly what I expect from a horror/thriller and the direction is pretty good. With a few tweaks and expansion on the characters motivations and behaviours, this could have easily earned a 6 or 7 star rating from me. Unfortunately though, this is a rather forgettable film that will undoubtedly get lost at the bottom of the horror and thriller genre with many others that fall short of doing anything remotely significant.

At least in my opinion, because if you take in consideration its budget, actors, location, all that was necessary to build it, I think Fracture came out just great!
Simple yet effective, a situation where less is more, without over stretching, without relying on gore or torture *, a simple invasion horror movie that delivers on its premise. Good use of mystery, managed to keep me intrigued from start to finish and I have to say, I wish more such productions would take in consideration to keep it as natural as they can without going to great lengths to show either bad CGI or a terrible conclusion.
Fracture is a lovely little indie movie! Recommended!
Cheers!
