Truly risible clichéd garbage. How this movie got a 7.0 I will never know. I could rant on all day about weak characters, self indulgent over the top scenes with bad acting but I wont, I'll just say this - The dinner sequence - Obviously those who are rating this Richard III highly were at the toilet or buying hot dogs when this scene played in its 5 minute granulocytic entirety. If you rate this higher than a 4 (and thats being kind) you should have your eyes plucked out with a red hot spoon no wait I think thats quite an appealing alternative...Ill take the eye pluck you just keep watching Four Brothers

This movie has great marketing and and an awful product. The plot is silly and unbelievable. Apparently the budget did not include extras for any of the "shoot out shots" (whether police of bystanders). Furthermore, the "climax" which you have to see to believe requires a suspension of disbelief of which anyone not on life support will not be able to make. Stay away. I am at a complete loss after reading the "external reviews" and can only conclude that there are 2 movies with the same title being released in different parts of the country. I predict that word of mouth will end this movie's box office life in reasonably quick order. However, I'm sure it will outdraw "The Great Raid" which is an entertaining quasi-historically correct movie that leaves the viewer satisfied. The only upside to Four Brothers is that it made me appreciate Joe Dirt and 3000 miles to Graceland. (Which I used to think were the 2 of the worst movies I had ever seen).

I had no idea what to expect when I went in to the theater to watch this film and so I came out very pleasantly surprised. It's a classic action movie for the new millennium with a decent revenge plot that has enough twists and turns to keep the audience guessing what's going on. It also has some phenomenal set piece action sequences; I can honestly say that there are moments where I can compare this film to Michael Mann's, "Heat". The film is not going to be enjoyed by everyone, it's not going to get critical appraise for the cerebral content, and there's no way that it will get any Oscars. Having said all that, I would still recommend it for anyone who wants a roller-coaster, action packed movie thriller.

I was lucky enough to see an advance screening last week. My friends and I were very entertained. It was very humorous- had great one liners. Mark Wahlberg was my favorite. He was hysterical. Tyrese, Andre 3000 and Garret Hedlund did great jobs as well. It was all about the chemistry between the brothers. It had great music as well. They used a lot of old Motown songs. It was action packed and funny. The audience was really into it. They were cheering and clapping. We were pretty much sitting on the edge of our seats. I have to admit I'm not a huge John Singleton fan but he really shocked me. I think he did a wonderful job. I recommend it to everyone.

Ughhhhh... Went into this with no expectations, just hoping to have an entertaining 2 hours, but alas, not to be. The acting wasn't awful, but it seems as though the actors had ZERO script to work with! The dialog and premise were silly, the directing and editing were awful, and the whole film was just plain dumb. There were very few tense moments, and even they seemed shabby and cliché. I think you can do a lot better at the movies this weekend, and I hope you choose to spend you 10 dollars elsewhere! Mark Wahlberg was bland and unbelievable, Andre (3000) Benjamin was even worse, and the other 2 actors were barely even blips on the radar. john Singleton has proved himself to be way better than this!

This is my first comment ever. I want to tell the truth about Four Brothers. I got this DVD based on the 6.8 IMDb rating it received. Usually, I find these ratings to be pretty reliable. In this case, I was seriously misled. Don't make the same mistake. This movie sucks. The plot makes no sense. The acting is miserable. It's boring and full of clichés. Normally, I like action films -- even when they're not great quality. This one is a disaster. Don't believe the last 10 comments on here. I could accept an IMDb rating of something between 4 and 5.5 for this movie. Nothing more. And it would only be that high because some people don't seem to care about a film's writing, acting, or plot. As long as there's a decent car chase and plenty of guns going off, then there's no need to worry about such minor details as coherence, dialogue, and and character development. Do yourself a favour: do not waste two hours on this garbage. I would give it a 3 out of 10.

The beginning tells it all, the Paramount mountain engulfed in snow. The Motown soundtrack. This is not going to be your typical Hollywood action movie. This is raw shoot'em up urban action. Where the bad guys are really bad, and the good still bad. The characters are well drawn out and fun to watch. The laughs keep coming. If you're just in for the action, then the gripping action scenes will have you satisfied. And if you're a film nerd like myself, you'll appreciate the crisp cinematography and seamless editing. I can't believe this is the same Singleton director that just recently did the CG infested, cheesy "2 Fast 2 Furious". It seems like the only thing that survived off this bad spell is Tyrese's girlfriend, whose scenes are the most cliché and unnecessary ones. Still everything else is pure fun.
