I see a lot of comments about the different versions of this movie, but nobody seems to mention the thing that most concerned me about this tolerable disaster film (nearly all these stories about giant asteroids menacing the earth have the same plot, more or less, but I tuned in anyway to see Rae Dawn Chong as the heroic scientist). Watching Michael Moriarty in his role as the general was distracting because he seemed to be having problems playing his part that had nothing to do with the script or the direction. He was walking with a stick, and in the dialogue scenes he seemed to stare straight ahead and deliver his lines with little or no animation. Was he ill? Had he had a stroke?

Being a fan of Antonio I decided to purchase this DVD when it was released on DVD in the UK mid January 2006. The title used here is ULTIMATE LIMIT and gone are all the references to Antonio's character being gay. There is a glance between him and his co-worker that may have meant more in the original screening but that is now all. The movie was around 85 minutes long so I assume 5 minutes have been edited out. The movie ends with Antonion's supposedly single male character being joined at home by the female lead character to take their "working kiss" a little further. If this movie has a release under the original title with the original scenes, I may be tempted to buy again.

This is a B movie. I like B movies. My review will reflect that attitude. I've read that this movie has been released with both gay scenes and without them. The version I saw had no gay scenes so I can't comment on them. I enjoyed the movie. The actors were mostly believable. It contains the usual handsome, brave, smart leading man and an appealing female costar. Although I think Rae Dawn Chong should have been younger but you work with what you're given. Most of the supporting actors do a fine job. Especially the General, Michael Moriarty. I give this movie an enthusiastic thumbs up and I recommend it to all fans of the B movie genre.

I remember watching many movies simply because a certain actor, well, actress, was in the movie. Although I have moved away from that line of thinking some, I did watch this because of Rae Dawn Chong. To me she has always been and still is a living doll and so exotic. True, this is a low budget movie with some faults, but the story is not so bad, and with Rae Dawn on the screen I am a happy viewer.

DEADLY SKIES is yet another disaster movie told on a cheap TV budget which means there's little in the way of action or genuinely impressive FX-fuelled incident. Almost all of the story is told via exposition and as usual human foes are pitted against our rogue heroes which saves on the budget considerably. The only thing this has going for it are a lead role for Rae Dawn Chong, of COMMANDO fame; she's rather better and more likeable than the usual stars of such fare. There's also another quirky performance from Michael Moriarty, the cult star who seemed to pop up everywhere in the 1980s.
