I have been stumbling upon a handful of Nigerian movies this year, and I also happened to come across the 2020 movie "Finding Hubby" and opted to give it a view. The movie was listed as a romantic drama comedy, so that is what I was expecting to see.
The storyline in "Finding Hubby" contained no elements of comedy at all, as writers Temitope Bolade, Diche Enunwa and Tunde Leye's script here was a romantic drama. Needless to say that I was rather disappointed as there was no comedy here, especially since I am not one overly keen on watching romantic dramas in general.
"Finding Hubby" was not a movie that fell into my liking, and it was a prolonged experience to sit through this movie. And I have to admit that I endured a staggering 48 minutes of slow paced mind-numbing romantic drama, and then I just couldn't take it anymore and tossed the towel in the ring. Nothing worthwhile or entertaining had happened in 48 minutes, so I figured that spending a total of 104 minutes on director Olufemi Ogunsanwo's 2020 movie would be a waste of my time.
It should be noted that the acting in the movie was for the most parts actually fair enough. I wasn't familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list, as I am not all that familiar with Nigerian cinema.
I am sure that there is an audience out there for a movie such as "Finding Hubby", an audience that finds enjoyment in romantic dramas. I just happened not to be a part of that particular audience.
Needless to say that I have zero intention of sitting down to watch the 2021 sequel "Finding Hubby 2" after having virtually suffered through a major part of this first movie. I was expecting the movie to have comedy elements as well, of which it had absolutely none, so that was a disappointment.
My rating of "Finding Hubby" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

This movie made sense up until the non-ending; full of bad advice.
Not sure at all what that was. Would love to give it more than 4 but I was truly too disappointment and bewildered to give it anything more.
Horrible mistake!

The movie was great until the last 20 minutes, it's just went armature. Was strong until they had to fill in too much details just before the end and then not even end the story.
