'Field Day' has a bit of everything that can fit into a story. First and foremost it's a lively experience. The three ladies kinda share the lead role, although Rachel Boston is clearly the actual lead. As they go from "cold shoulder" and distant acquaintances to best friends right before our eyes, the transition is seamless and natural. They must navigate speed bumps along the way, but it's all genuine and realistic. Secondly, the main theme is an uplifting story about a woman (Boston) who lost her husband a couple years back and how she and her teenage daughter are adapting to a new place. Thirdly, there is a gradual and endearing romance that buds and it's just the right amount of subtle flirtation, yet quite entertaining in it's own way. Both romantic leads radiate a significant level of chemistry between them. Fourth, there is a lot of activity going on amongst families and friends, intertwined with the school setting and activities, PTO, fundraisers, moms competing for accolades...Finally, there are intermittent social media, dancing, and other entertaining side plots that form the complete package of what any great Hallmark film should be.
This is must see adventure that is vibrant, interesting, and engaging. What really stands out is the dialogue, which to me is possibly one of the best I've ever encountered in a Hallmark film. The puns and jokes are clever, the humor is witty, the conversations are refreshing and thought provoking.

Disclaimer: I'd watch Rachel Boston read the phone book for two hours. She's still one of the cutest stars in the Hallmark roster.
It's delightful here to watch her character bond with other Mothers in the PTA that are so much different than her.
Benjamin Ayres from Saving Hope makes his 900th Hallmark movie appearance. As usual, he does a great job as the male lead.
Did I say how say how awesome Rachel Boston is here? She just absolutely breaks your heart as her character watches a video of her dead husband.
The only problem I have with this movie is that it takes place on the first week of school, but there is already snow on the ground. WTF?

I really enjoyed this movie. It's well-written with a great balance of light-hearted and deep. Benjamin Ayres and Rachel Boston were great together. Both are fabulous at comedy and tender moments. Kudos to the casting directors for this great pairing. I loved the friendship storyline, too! There is a mom new to the state and school, a mom who struggles with work life balance, and a mom who seeks her worth on socal media. All of the storylines were well thought-out, balanced, and relatable. One of my favorite 2023 Hallmark movies!
Field Day is a great movie about love, loss, family, friendship, navigating the PTO moms at school, parenting, friendships, and an uncle who pours into his niece.

It took me a few days to watch the movie in peace. This movie has so many emotions. It's about finding good friends, loss, divorce ,being able to move on, finding love again, standing up for yourself and family. I like this movie relates to real life. People struggle to move on after a loss of any kind. The movie reminds us that it can happen. I love their friendship, they have their ups and downs but they are there for each other. Then the mean girls i am happy someone finally stood up to her I can't say enough about this movie. Thank you all that made this movie so special...................

I loved this movie. The three main characters have great chemistry. Yes at times it can be a bit cheesy - but I think all Hallmark movies can be. I enjoyed the women navigating real life struggles. For a few hours it is nice to be taken up into a story with a happy ending. It is funny that another reviewer wished they could have the 2 hours back they put into the movie. I usually can tell right away if I am into a story. This movie came on at the perfect time for me - I so enjoyed watching the interaction of the characters. I laughed and particularly enjoy Rachel Boston . I would even like to see a sequel to this movie and see the three women have another adventure together.

You pretty much can never go wrong with a movie or show that Rachel Boston stars in. She's top notch and always delivers. The addition of two other leading ladies (Shannon Chan-Kent and Carmel Amit) makes this movie a real treat. Their characters' back stories made sense and fit with the plot, and all three of them more than held their own as a group and individually.
By the end of the movie, their very palpable chemistry had me rooting for their common cause (to save Field Day), as well as their friendship. Benjamin Ayers is one of my favorites and an added bonus for me.
I'd love to see a sequel to this just for the leads alone, no matter what the storyline is. When some lead actors left for GAC, I wasn't at all worried because Hallmark has a very deep bench and needs to tap into it more often. This movie proves that. I really enjoyed seeing Amit in a lead role and Chan-Kent was perfectly cast. Well done!

I just cringed at most of this movie. The plot and dialogue seem like a show on the Disney channel aimed at 13-year olds. The premise looked promising, but fell flat. The characters were annoying stereotypes. The love interest was okay at best. The antics were predictable and grossly unrealistic. Over all, it failed to make the viewer care about any of the characters or their relationships. There were a couple funny or thought-provoking one-liners, but far too few to make this a film i'd recommend. It failed to capture the charm of the genre. If you are absolutely bored and just want to pass the time. . .

All the actors are phenomenal and charming but the storyline that should have been incredible falls short on screen. The dialogue and situations are so incredibly juvenile and seems more like it was written by and for middle school aged kids. This is not an adult rom com. From the pajama pants, to the "you like me," to the kicked out of the clique, to the eavesdropping moms. It's just one childish situation after another. The actors are great and I was so looked forward to this movie, but I caught myself on several occasions checking to make sure I hadn't wandered onto the Disney channel. This one is not a golden star.

A fun and refreshing Hallmark movie, written by Julie Sherman Wolfe, about friendships, new beginnings, the ups and downs of PTO (parent teacher organization), family, and love... featuring some day drinking with the girls and a New Kids on the Block song ;)
Rachel Boston delivered a fun and sweet performance as the lead character. Matt Clarke, even if appearing a few minutes, delivered a poignant performance in a touching scene. Carmel Amit and Shannon Chan-Kent complete the unlikely trio of moms having to organize Field Day at school and it shows through the screen that the three ladies had fun shooting their scenes.
This Hallmark movie is unlike what we usually see as the friendship between the three ladies is out front and center, and not the love story between Boston's and Benjamin Ayres' characters.
This is a must watch if you are a Hallmark or rom-com fan.
