It's so sad to see a plot with so much potential being wasted like that! Fermat's Room could have been a great movie, but the riddles pass too fast in our faces, you don't even have the time to try to solve them. The solutions go so fast that people without a good math basis with lost interest, I mean, I am a mathematician and almost gave up watching. Character development is probably the biggest problem and the relations between them are just thrown on screen. It's weird that some of them are too dumb to solve an easy problem, but smart enough to get the villain's plan at the end in a second (by the way, the villain is kinda obvious).

The plot was interesting but the tasks given to the group were to easy to solve for even ordinary people without high intellectual capacities.

This film is not bad for me. There are four mathematicians and a pivot in this film. The pivot is "Fermat". Fermat posted a question a lot of mathematicians. But only four mathematicians answered it. Four mathematicians met in Fermat's room. Fermat was here but after he went out. There is one telephone in the room and Fermat posted a lot of question. İf mathematicians don't answer it in a minute, the room will be small. They answered a lot of question but they are tired now. Finally they escape from the room but Hilbert was dead. While they were escaping, Pascal said something, and I love it. But if only Galois didn't say a lie about Golbch's hypothesis.

It was my homework.I was watching this film last year when my maths teacher gave this homework. It is panic, exciting and thriller.Four mathematicians in one room..And door is suddenly close. They think together ''who close the door ? ''.. A cellphone in this room..They find this cellphone and suddenly appear a maths question. They have got a little time..And if they find question's answer ,appears a new question..But İf they aren't find answer,in this room smaller and smaller. And finally this room like a toilet..They are going crazy..But this film doesn't include savagery..So i like it.While I was watching this film I think nonstop ''who is make it?''But this film's time is very little.I think if film's time is long, film is more interesting and engrossing..I think you watch this film especially if your maths doesn't good ..

I've never seen a movie that depends this heavily on expositions. A huge chunk of the movie is entirely made up of long and boring expositional dialogue reaching to ridiculous levels that it almost feels like you're reading a comic from the 60s where the villain explains his entire plan for world domination and why he's been punching you for the last twenty minutes in a giant speech bubble.

To be honest, I always trust Spanish thrillers, cause for me it's a different and exceptional approach to mystery, having seen other relative movies. I believe this one is one of the best films of the genre, and really enjoyable. As a matter of fact, it doesn't include any horror, however it creates panic to the viewer, who is watching the suspicions and thinking of the prime actors. And the entire plot is so interesting and mysterious simultaneously, as it is based on mathematics. The good point is that you cant really understand what has really happened until the end literally. I think it's a very nice choice and I really recommend it!
