The most outstanding element of this movie, for me, was the main character. I was truly impressed with how very like a teenager she was, yet still determined to fight back. Might seem like a bit of a low standard, but honestly, after watching countless horror movies in which the protagonist is mind-numbingly helpless and insipid, I feel like I'm justified in my feelings. Which brings me to my next point: the absolute and total failure of an ending. I was good with everything up until that very point, which was one of the most disheartening and irritating conclusions I've ever had the misfortune of witnessing. It was unbelievable in terms of realism and characterization. The plot is simple but well-executed (minus that messy finale), the soundtrack a little bit annoying after a while. Dialogue could be pretty cheesy at times. Some jumpscares, some unnecessary scenes. Not a particularly terrifying antagonist but the movie made me root so hard for the protagonist that I felt nervous for her anyway. Overall, charming, a good-natured attempt that does what it needs to, and very fun. Would recommend as a light flick with occasional suspense to warm you up (unless you find the ending just as monumentally disappointing as I did).

There are two set of arguments to these type of movies. On the one hand it gives a chance to struggling actors to be in front of the camera. On the other hand people who conceive such stories & people who direct such movies should not even be allowed near a camera to begin with. These are the kind of movies that make you question your decision making abilities in selecting movies to watch & movies to avoid like the plague. This one falls in the latter category. This one has every cliché that has been done since they started making slasher movies. It is really not that difficult to give these sort of movies some level of originality and make it interesting and commercially viable. Take the e.g of movies like 'You're Next' which have gone on to become cult classics and profitable. Fender Bender offers nothing new in the category. It is the very definition of 'missable movies'. The story-line is amateurish, the scares are childish, the gore is pretty much non-existent and the acting is forgettable.

This movie is not worth your time. Main character is implausibly dumb. An automotive cigarette lighter does not spark. This movie will frustrate you and is ultimately unsatisfying in its predictability. You've been warned.

Another teen slasher/stabber movie with the same old tired plot of a lone female teen (sometimes accompanied by fellow victim friends as pre-meal snacks) about to meet her maker, at night, eventually alone. Always a female who seems to always make dumb/stupid mistakes to prolong the agony for 90 min. Age & gender discrimination; the producers should be sued for demeaning a segment of the pop. I hope it wasn't left open-ended for a sequel, but thank the movie gods for ff.

I found this to be a highly enjoyable film. It's influenced by old-school horror films such as Halloween, among others. The camera work, cinematography and acting are all really good. The script might not be highly original or a masterpiece, but it does the job that it's intended to do and is really solid for what it is, it's not written as a massively serious, thought provoking drama, it is what it is, and what it is, is a very good film that is massively underrated and well worth checking out. Give it a go, you might like it, you might even love it!

I'll be honest, horror films are one of the most depressing things in the world to me. I like the concept of the genre so much that to see it being abused as badly as it is in modern cinema is just devastating. So very few horror films today are even watchable, let alone what you would consider enjoyable. So when rare and unexpected gems like 'Fender Bender' come along, it just makes me so happy. That's not to say it's a perfect film. Far from it. There are the typical unbelievably stupid character decisions that drive me crazy. That's certainly the film's biggest flaw. The acting is a little shaky in places too, but other than it really is just positives left to focus on. The opening scene is actually very well done. It was surprisingly well crafted and set a good tone for the film. Then the film goes into a set up period. This was a little tedious, but it was excusable because it was taking the time to make you care about the characters, something that would be very important later on. Then the action kicks off and it's a fun ride. There are genuine scares littered throughout and I found myself actually caring about the fate of the characters - something that is incredibly rare in modern horror. Probably the thing I loved the most about the film though is that it pulls no punches. Nothing is off limits and that is a necessity for a horror film to be successful - and yet so few do it. Writer/director Mark Pavia only has one previous credit, a Stephen King film from 1997 called 'The Night Flier' which also has a high rating for the horror genre. It's clear he has a lot of talent. Let's just hope he doesn't wait another 19 years to make his next film.

I am a sucker for slasher-flicks. Grew up with them, yearned to see them when my parents said no and imagined whole scenarios/plots just from the VHS covers at the momma/papa video stores. They just don't make 'em like they used to. Or do they? This modern slasher is 100% homage to the slashers of the 80s. But, it's hard to think of it as modern without remembering its heritage. Meaning, these characters/victims were DUMB and it was hard to stand behind them, unless…you remembered all the countess camp counselors who were as equally DUMB. As pointed out in the Scream franchise. But, if you enjoy the slasher subgenre as I do, you probably will like this one. Its twist is the killer targets women by means of fender- bending them into their personal information and making it easier to stalk and finish them. Our main heroine has absolutely terrible parents and is no prize herself. She's even worse than most of the no-brain victims of the Friday the 13th series. (Doesn't anyone call 911 these days?) The saving grace was the shocking and unexpected finale. I did NOT see that coming and proud they went there. Suspend your disbelief and only count this as the tribute it is. You might have a little fun. I did…but again, I was "eh" until the third act. Almost worth the entire movie for it. *** Final thoughts: Day 10 Movie in the Can! I'm watching a NEW-2-ME horror movie every day of October 2016 and this one I was, ah-hem, dying to see after both realizing it was a slasher flick in the sea of today's ghost- house obsession horror movies. I recently listened to a Shockwaves podcast with the director of this plus The Night Flier and it was fascinating on how this movie came to be. It wasn't necessarily a bad movie, it just had such stupid characters, even worse than the slashers of years past. I tried to see that as a positive and part of the master plan, but we are 2016 and not the 1980s anymore. The reference worked in The Final Girls…just not here.

So she has him stabbed and burned, plus knocked out. But she doesn't take the crow bar and smash his head in, or at least his knees, just incase he is alive,. Which they always are. When she didn't finish him off, then I wanted her to die! Oh and also how convenient for a HUGE puddle of water to be right by the killer when he gets lit on fire... smfh. This movie could of been ok. But the production/ writing team have no imagination!
