We don't get to watch many thrillers lately so I was hopeful about this movie. It was actually satisfactory enough, the changing faces of the supporting cast was fun and sufficient to emphasize with Milla's character. If this was a bigger budget movie, it would be delightful to have some of these faces by more recognizable character actors depending on the situation and her disposition towards them. As it was, the film was more like a procession of many extras (note the collaboration of 4-5 studios). For some weird reason I expected and hoped she would at some point see Philip Seymour Hoffman as her husband, Luiz Guzman as the cop, Eric Roberts as Lanyon, but of course that didn't happen :) I agree with others that the love affair looked superficial and lacking chemistry, but just think (after watching the film) how it would be elevated by a clever and ambitious casting of supporting actors. On the downside, the suspense level was not really high and the film never came close to being chilling. It could have been a much more captivating thriller. Sometimes the story of the killer was almost a sub-plot and it was her prognosis that was at the forefront, I guess Milla preferred it that way for having more opportunity to display her serious acting skills. My alternative would be to have more scenes with Lanyon and also more innovative stalking by the Lurker. That way the audience would engage better in making guesses about the killer's identity and could actually still be amazed by a clever twist at the end. Here is a diversion about the leading actor (well, the movie became rather dull enough times to give me an opportunity to amuse myself by reflecting on her career). I think Milla is cleverly changing gear, she is very positively stuck in my mind with the Fifth Element (that was when Bruce Willis was a dashing action star) and I noted her acting in the Million Dollar Hotel as well as her portrayal of Jean Darc. When you come to think of it, she has a remarkably diverse and rich filmography with leading roles in major films while she was very young. Overall however, her last ten years went largely unnoticed by people who are not into resident evil, so now she has the chance to make a re-entry as a fresh face who happens to have a lot of acting experience. In the next few years she could aptly make her mark as the lead actress of noirs and thrillers (a role played by Kim Basinger and Michelle Pheiffer in the last decade). To sum up, an entertaining and somewhat original movie which unfortunately is not intellectually challenging. Watch it, but with realistic expectations.

The only thing this film has going for it is the aesthetic beauty of its lead actress and the initial shock that the NIP/TUCK guy is no longer as pimping as one initially thought. Progressively intolerable, irritating and violates one's common sense to a point that one wishes the DVD exploded after 30 minutes. Specifically, the director bypassed the fact that the woman actually has EARS. Furthermore, she is devoid of any oxytocin molecules granting her the ability to fall in and out of love quicker than a back street hooker. However - The continuous switching of actors to convey the progenitors condition was interesting. It gave a sense of what it may be like to have such a disorder. This became the bones of the film and was indeed a suitable platform for the intended story line.

It was an interesting premise, losing facial recognition, and could have been a really good story line, but overall it was very poorly written and executed. Too many situations were forced, made to fit the movie rather than actually being a realistic part of the story-line. And the main characters made really poor decisions multiple times throughout the movie - the ones that make you think "really? come on..." The characters that played Bryce all looked similar, so I had trouble telling them apart - maybe I've lost facial recognition too. Overall it was pretty hokey - a definite B-movie thriller. I would though like to see a good movie with the same premise.

Spoiler: So wow this was pretty intense and good, too bad I knew the killer at the beginning but it was still good, very very sad tho I wish he'd of got to see his daughter, that part had me almost teary, almost. I kept thinking man he'd of really been happy to see that she ended up pregnant! & what a great dad he'd of been! So sad and pretty different from any other movie. I tend to like movies others don't and not like ones others do haha so maybe that's why I liked this one so much more than most, but it was a different type of plot and very interesting and very well made. Def recommend and would watch again. Is worth the watch for sure

This movie has a great story line, the acting is truly, truly well done !! I am a huge fan of Milla Jovovich( Resident Evil movies). I just cannot imagine living with face identity disorder .. Looking at every single person involved in your life and not recognizing them.... so very sad.... Even tho this movie is not true, facial identity disorder is very much real. This movie has a lot of great plots, and twists.. I highly recommend this.. its one of those cuddle up grab a drink type movies. you'll laugh, cry, and just flat out enjoy this movie!! Its even a kind of mystery type , or as they even say, "Columbo" type old fashioned feel good detective story with a twist!

Sadly it's not a logical film. We can buy that such an illness exists, and displays these symptoms. Still you can come up of many ways to recognize people. Just think how blind people can do that. Not only you can recognize the voice, but - if you are not blind - you can always tell short/tall, dark/light, fat/slim and so on. Asking a password from each acquaintance also would be an easy way. Keeping this in mind, obviously many of the scenes in this movie are plain absurd. Other unbearable clichés situations also appear in the movie, good performance from Jovovich though.

Concept is unique but it was badly executed. Towards the end, i felt same as the character "Anna" by Milla. I couldn't tell who is who and that made me lose interest in watching.

Faces In a Crowd: staring milla jovovich I Never even heard of this movie let alone planed to watch it til it was suggested to me based on other films i saw listed in IMDb story follows i successful women Kindergarten teacher who witness a Murder in the Process of trying to escape with her life falls off a bridge and hits her head causing her to lose the ability to recognize faces and therefore they all start to look alike, the Killer begins to stalk and taunt her knowing she can't recognize anybody he starts to make her lose her mind and play head games with her. plot was intriguing the cast was well put together and pretty good but it starts to get a Little confusing with the Characters constantly changing faces you start to lose focus on who she is actually talking to but in general it was a fairly decent movie it had it's gripping moments i give it 5 out of 10 stars
