Tv drama? This movie is so much more than that! The message and the dialogues are fantastic, and if you are a fan of the 90's movies you will love it. Justice has not changed much since then, and the message is very clear, this mother is not satisfied with what happened, which is quite logical and frustrating!! It did not seem unrealistic to me, on the contrary, this woman risked her life in order to continue living. Sally field is awesome, and K. Sutherland amazing and really creepy!! Loved it!! I always liked to see the actor Ed Harris, although my favorite movies with this actor are China Moon and The Abbys (don't miss them!) Don't miss this one, full of tension and a most noble and exciting story.

You can see the camera crew in the opening scene. Look at the small mirror to he right of Sally.

This cannot be called a revenge film because the killer did not get what's coming to him. He's an evil, vicious man and the mother shoots him in the head. That's it. After all the pain and suffering this man caused, he dies execution style. I want to throttle the writer of this story for having the audacity to call it "eye for an eye" without having the climax to validate the title. Terrible movie, don't waste your time unless you like seeing terrible people roam free and easy.

Nothing new in this movie. A somewhat predictable scenario but still worth watching. Nothing negative to say about movie either, other than maybe the screenwriters could have beefed it up a little more as it felt more like a movie from the 70's rather than 1996.

It starts well, promising to be a gritty and interesting character driven drama. The first 15 minutes are gripping. Unfortunately, it quickly loses its way after that, and turns into a poor thriller containing almost fantastic plot elements which are handled in an almost off-hand way.

Terrible acting by just about the whole cast. Script was a rehash of every rape/abduction film ever done. No one "sold it" except Kiefer Sutherland. Fields and her youngest daughter didn't do anything that made sense or believable. Ed Harris (one of my favorite actors) should never have made this film. Way beneath his abilities. Stiff drama by everyone. I could go on but you get the idea. Painful to watch.
