WARNING : CONTAINS A LOT OF SPOILER the movie was painful to watch, the unrealistic dialogues, the unnecessary scripts and violence, the implausible train of events. i liked the beginning part of the movie because it didn't seem too bad and i was still under the "this is a Bruce Willis movie" perception, but later on in the movie, i noticed, something's...everything's not right, just questions for the writer of the movie: If Willis was a top agent, why the guy in the suit not know him and calls him a washed out skidmark? If Lutz was denied the part to rescue his father because he was too close to the situation, why did the CIA send in Carano who was Lutz' fling, which the CIA even call a relationship? How can one CIA agent bring down 4 other agents who received the same CIA training? Isn't holding an agent back by calling favors with senior CIA officers corruption within the agency and could be a basis for a reprimand of some sort? Is Carano really the only one of all the thousands of agents that came from that state or studied in that college that the CIA has under its employment? Why the bar fight? Are bikers really that aggressive and violent that they will attack any person they do not know? Why did Lutz start a bar fight when he could have just asked nicely, pretended to be a friend or relative and bought the guys a round of drinks in exchange for the information he received? Lutz was supposed to be operating under the radar, yet why did he fight everyone in the bar, and then pulled out a grenade which would certainly place a giant spotlight at him? Why did you guys force Gina Carano to uncomfortably act like a drunk sorority girl? Why did you guys force Carano's friend to act like a 13 year old who had just gotten her first drink? How did the bad guys not notice the BLARING RED FORD MUSTANG following them for miles??? Is Martial Arts a requirement for a job as a crane operator? Why did Lutz have to bring the crane operator into the whole mess when he was just there doing honest job to feed his family?

The film reminds me of, The Cold Light of Day, both involved Bruce Willis playing a dad whose son joins the family business of espionage after hit with tragedy But instead of Man of Steel's Henry Cavill, we get some new guy, Kellan Lutz. It looks like the new guy is trying to showcase his fighting skills. Though the action sequences are OK, they do absolutely nothing to make me think this new guy could be the next Jason Statham or anything like that. Pretty lame since his name appears before Willis. What really sucks is that the movie is sleeping Gina Carano's skills. I was thinking that she was in the film as a backup just in case the new pretty boy falls short, which he does, and she would pick up the slack, but she acted as no more than just the love interest for the hero, which is so lame, cause I seen her do too many amazing fight scenes to be second rate in this film. Speaking of second rate, Bruce Willis most likely lends his name to the movie in exchange for a big pay check. He's barely in it. I will say when he is on the screen, Mr. Willis does do a little bit of acting. Just enough to give the character a little more depth than the others (guess he did not want young and hot new action star to upstage him) So the movie is not as bad as I'm making it out to be. it's a 100% pure action flick and it's too generic to be in a good or bad category. It just is. Something that you can stream on your computer while distracted by other things.

Extraction is done by the book, as in every step of the way is filled with action B-movie cliché. Strangely, the cast and plot have decent potential, yet it ends up mediocre due to severe lack of chemistry and uninteresting thriller aspect. There are some action fun from combat, though they are brief, too few and scattered throughout disjointed mandatory set pieces. Bruce Willis can deliver a good action movie and Extraction is primed for humorous quirky relationship with younger actors, he has done this gig before in RED. However, he looks constantly disgruntled and unsympathetic here. It doesn't help that he's held hostage for most of the time and even in some scenes with other leads, there's not a shred of chemistry to be had. Kellen Lutz, from The Legend of Hercules (not The Rock one) is not exactly bad. He just has an outstandingly plain on-screen presence, he wears action hero template with not much more personality. Gina Carano is capable, but she's relegated into supporting semi love interest character and her martial art credential isn't capitalized enough. The two share most screen time and a couple of them do work in their favor, but it'd be more interesting if the role is swapped and it's Carano who tries to save her father. As for the action pieces, they are strikingly rigid, although still presentable. Cue the typical bar fight, a venture into night club, some chase scene and then random warehouse shootout. The movie tries to create some thriller subplot, actually quite a lot is invested on it, but this isn't Tom Clancy's script. It's a lot of build up to an unexciting end. Worse yet, the rest of the characters are typical villains, their henchmen and a couple of obnoxious extras. Extraction is the bare basic action film, it may barely entertain a lazy weeknight with few action sequences, but it's lacking identity and charisma despite its favorable cast.

How is it possible for a former so decent actor like Bruce Willis to serve up a helping of such b-s as this? Doesn't the guy have any self-respect any longer? I believe this must be one of the worst films made in 2015. Just take a peek at the dramatization part. It breaks with several existing rules – and lacks on more parts. Even Norwegian social dramas from the 1970's are in some instances better. Actually, if you – after reading this review have any desire left to waste time on this piece of sh*t, it is time for you to stop watching movies altogether. Man what an incredible waste of time.

I did not think this movie deserved the bad reviews... until I began watching it. I suffered through the first 20 minutes with high hopes that the poor acting, Bruce Willis included, would improve. It did not. So I saved myself 45 minutes and fast forwarded and watched the ending. Best part of the whole movie was the explosion at the end. Not for the special effects. Not for the cocky walk away. Simply because immediately after the credits began to roll. Horrific movie, horrific acting and even more horrific lines that the poor acting could not bring to life. Save some time and repeatedly kick yourself in a your ankle. You will save time and it will be much less painful.
