I wanted to like this, cause it kept coming up on Freevee to watch but no one in this thing is even remotely likeable. I hated them all. They are just all yucky people. What kind of family likes their son's ex who left him better than him? And why would they treat him so badly and her so good? The attraction between the leads was not there. They were so awful to each other and just in general that it made no sense for them to want to get together. I guess it was ok for what it was, but maybe I just prefer older movies that are actually good. But this one is not good, not even sort of good. It's just not.

Robbie Amell is good in this movie but the rest of the cast is silly and annoying. I don't mind cheesy movies because they are usually cute. This movie is not cute. It is aggravating and Meester is awful. Her character is as bad as her haircut. There is so much more out there to watch. Do not waste your time with this one. I am actually still watching as I warn the rest of you. I am hoping some how he finds someone else but I know we won't be that lucky. He should have left day one when his family shoved her in his face. Maybe this could've worked better if Meester's character wasn't so obnoxious. It's a shame. I usually like her.

This is probably one of the worst Christmas rom coms that I have ever seen. The lead characters lacked so much chemistry and I couldn't connect with the plot! I disliked the fact that the ex-gf felt so entitled to be part of the family and could not root for her at all. Throughout the movie, I was praying the couple would not end up together; it made no sense. None of the other characters were believable and everyone including the lead actors looked like they were acting. This movie deserves a rating in the negative numbers! The only saving grace to this movie are the Christmas decorations!!!!

This movie was great and funny, great acting until it mocked the Catholic Church with the "plenty of crackers" comment at Mass, disrespecting the true presence of God in the Eucharist. The movie makes a joke of the Sign of the Cross. The Baby Jesus figure is jokingly lost and replaced with with ugly stuffed animals. Over 50% of the United States call themselves Christians. If this is true, the primary U. S. religious beliefs in the country are mocked by this movie. Christmas is a religious feast which the secular world has decided to adopt. Christians, including Catholics can take a well meant joke about beliefs, but this makes a mockery of our beliefs. Too bad Christianity is the least respected of all religions. Too bad one of the only Christmas movies in which Christ is mentioned and the characters go to Mass, is portrayed in such a disrespecting, cafeteria Catholic manner. :'(

The most heinous movie ever I feel like it would be better if it was a friend group but your own family liking your ex fiancé more and then the ex having the audacity to show up and STAY I can't believe I watched the whole thing and I was so excited because I love leighton meester...ALSO HER AWFUL AWFUL BANGS!!!!! If the bangs were not there I mayyybe more inclined to like her but they were!!!Another thing that made me hate it is because it is just a walking ad. Every 30 seconds I was being promoted something. I do not like it when I am forced to hate a woman and I had no choice but to hate!!!!!

Turned this one on for the sole reason that Veronica (actor, singer, comedienne, jack of all trades) had a supporting role and we got some good schtick out of it. Other than that this movie was pretty painful to sit through. Mainly the leading (ex)couple, Graham is such a smug unlikable character and the whole movie is smarmy to the nth degree. Tries to pull at your heartstrings towards the end to no effect. What made it worse than a hallmark movie is that it's trying to feel like a real movie yet still running through the same tropes of a hallmark movie (works too much, goes home to small town USA, falls in love, learns the meaning of family) I suppose some of these are Christmas movie staples but executed like a hallmark movie. #4 trending in Canada, can't say we have great taste!

Ali Moyer (Leighton Meester) and Graham Stroop (Robbie Amell) used to go out and were even engaged before they broke up. With Graham unable to come home for Christmas. His parents invite Ali instead. However Graham does show up and is not pleased to see his ex. Now he wants Ali look to bad in front of his family. So they bicker and argue. They even make a bet as to whether one of them could make it through the holiday season. Some of the humour is weak and laboured. However some of it is a little adult for this type of festive romantic comedy. It is all very predictable but it has some spiky moments.
