The idea has been done before, but (and is a big but) better than here. Slow film where there is no almost horror until the 10-20 minutes to finish. At least, if you see it until the end there is a surprise ending.

No need to go into what the movie is about. When you add bad writing, bad acting, bad directing, bad music, bad video, you get this steamy pile. A teenager with a cellphone could do much better with the neighborhood kids. The "horror" part is that video space is being taken up in the world with this. It's like they have never seen a movie before. You have been warned.

Director Jeffrey Schneider brings us Evil Under the Skin. A great cabin in the woods thriller. Sophie (Helene Udy) and her daughter, Roselee (Angela Barajas) Are planning on spending this weekend bonding and letting it all out good and bad. But somethings are better left alone and not to be reopened. On top of that Sophie Is off her medication and having visions and nightmares which include Roselee. Creepy brother and sister Matt (Tim O'Hearn) and Carla (Donna Hamblin) decide to have some fun with Sophie, preying on her on the edge behavior. Also to add to the mix Are the local sheriff and his sexy deputy . Sheriff Roy Keeps (Carl Bailey) and Ranger Jenny Ross (Pamela Sutch) Have great chemistry and are investigating disturbances at the house the girls are staying at. But after observing Sophie they are looking at the investigation differently. Things go bump in the night. Strange rooms need to be locked and left alone. But the best thing in his movie is the atmosphere that has been created. The director pays a lot of detail and uses what he has available to the fullest. Limited characters are always a challenge but these actors are all very Appealing and a pleasure to watch. Along with great cinematography of the area it's a winning combination that takes his low budget above the others. Sweeping scenes of the lakeside and surrounding area make you appreciate the setting and make it so much more scary when the horror starts. There are plenty of moments of tension and scares. Luc Bernier turned out a great script. The asset of filming in the deep woods. Tim O'Hearn treats every movie he is in with complete Professionalism. He teaming up with Donna Hamblin is great casting. She too brings a lot passion in all her work, with this being one of her best performances. I have seen Pam Sutch grow as An actress through the years. She has matured into a very passionate actress who improves with every movie. She brings a lot to the movie as the deputy and really caught my attention. The 2 leads Helene Udgy and Angela Barajas really carry and are the movie that more enjoyable. So many times these movies always have great trailers and posters and disappoint. This is a great winter evening chiller that will have you chomping on the popcorn and keeping the lights on after watching. I would like to see this team work together again they had such great chemistry. Now available on Tubi. Director: Jeffrey Schneider Writer: Luc Bernier (Screenplay) Starring: Helene Udy, Carl Bailey, Pamela Sutch, Donna Hamblin, Colton Baumgartner and Tim O'Hearn.

I really enjoyed it. It was more and better than expected. Mostly an art drama with horror elements but it's not a horror film.

"Evil Under the Skin" (original title "Fading Flowers") appears to be an attempt to make a David Lynch movie. Lynch may be the most influential filmmaker of our time, but it's rare that someone attempts to duplicate the entire Lynch experience. The plot is simple. Sophie Palmer (get it? "Palmer"?), played by experienced actress Helene Udy, has taken her daughter Rose Lee, played by gorgeous * star Verronica Kirei under the name "Angela Barajas", out to a lake house for some "bonding time." The two women bond, while neighbors and police are concerned about what's going on in the house. As I mentioned, much of the movie seems an attempt to make a David Lynch movie. Many of the Lynch trapping are there -- picturesque locations hinting at horrible things beneath the surface, unusual supporting characters, long shots of nature over music (although the music doesn't have the same hypnotic mood as Lynch's films), characters acting and speaking very odd indeed, rampant sexuality (Kirei/Barajas is not shy about showing her body)... It doesn't all work, of course, but surprisingly a decent amount of it does. Some of that comes from an ending that actually explains things, and while I was fairly certain I knew what was going to happen, the ending did come as a bit of a surprise and made what came before it seem even better. This is one of those films that I objectively know isn't that great, but I found it surprisingly watchable. Maybe a bit of a guilty pleasure?

A mother and daughter have decided that a weekend away would be the best way for them to reconnect. So they head off to a house in the woods, unaware that this is a place that attracts only the worst in people. Basically - never ever take a vacation. Originally called Fake Flowers, this stars Helene Udy (Amityville Clownhouse, My Bloody Valentine) as the mother and Angela Barajas as the daughter. You'll see her naked just as often as you see establishing shots of the scenery, which go on so long that they take a life of their own and are no longer establishing shots. Hey - here's the daughter naked bathed in green light so you forget that! Then again, the dialogue outright says, "Nobody cares about boobies. This is Oregon." There's also an incestual brother and sister team who have nothing to do with the plot, but such is life in Oregon, one imagines. "Nobody cares about incest. This is Oregon." This is the kind of movie that gets things like Lynchian thrown at it in the hopes that you'll watch it. I've already told you that it has basically sixty straight minutes of naked girl in it and if that doesn't sell you, the fact that it makes no sense and not because of talent won't get you to watch it either.

A one of a kind and imaginative film that is both intriguing and thought-provoking, not to mention stylish. I see some people referring this as Lynchean, and I would agree. An excellent effort from the director and the cast (a nice ensemble). I didn't expect this from a no budget film, cause it's so unusual. I like films like that, where you can make out your own interpretation. I would be curious to see other similar movies from the director. I dig his style, or at least this particular film's style.

I think this film is more of a Lynchian suspense film with the story being driven with a combination of beautiful scenery and dreamlike drifting. Its disjointed feel I felt represented the insanity of the lead. Sharp confused moments, its jarring, different and non linear in its story telling. Overall its different and im sure not for everyone but i like films that try and be different and this is absolutely that.
