132 people rated On his way up north to visit friends, BEN picks up a mutual acquaintance, SAM, from her apartment in the city. Instead of taking the Interstate, they both agree for the longer but more scenic coastal highway, exploring and developing a companionship. Upon reaching San Francisco later that evening, the two decide to divorce destination from conclusion and get back in their car to find out just how far the Pacific Coast Highway will take them. Along the route they wind through weathered towns, giant forests, state lines and the realization that the farther they go, the closer they become and those forces that kept them looking back are being left far behind.

This is a lovely movie with a nice premise, likeable actors, gorgeous scenery. I really enjoyed it.
As a film, it leaves a little to be desired, as the sound and some other technical and practical issues, all that will be resolved when this team get a little bit more budget and/or experience. It didn't take away from my enjoyment of the film itself, so please don't let it keep you from watching, though, but I did find myself wishing they'd had more money for sound, so it could match the potential shown by all the other factors, especially the cinematography.
I gave it an 8 because I think you should watch this film. But don't prejudge it by your first impression of the tech. You'll enjoy this.

Saw this film as part of the Las Vegas International Film and Screenwriting Festival and was intrigued by its concept and big, beautiful settings. It did not dissapoint on either front.
The acting is hit or miss, but with more more, time, and budget they'd be fixed, too!

This is a delightful little movie with great acting, beautiful scenery, and likeable characters who are believable as regular people who meet and make a story that is their story.
The direction is good and the script is well written. Both done by Paul Goodman -- while undergoing chemotherapy to boot.
The soundtrack is even good.
After a bad day, it made me feel good.

An intriguing film about the fear of falling in love, commitment, and losing the tenuous hold one has on one's own identity. One lover always gets cold feet or in this case gets outed by Bigfoot! If you are a filmmaker you never lose by driving up the west coast.

I love road trip films. This was very middle of the road as far as those go. Some interesting characters encountered along the way, decent dialogue at times but not throughout.
But my main issue...I just could NOT buy into the compatibility/connection between the two leads. I tried, I really wanted to, but they just did not click for me romantically whatsoever. I couldn't BELIEVE. It made for moments that could otherwise have been touching so cringeworthy for me.

This beautiful movie touches the chords that resonate in all of us, the healing harmony of true connections, and it matters not whether those connections are brief or forever. An early decision to follow a different road than planned leads these two young people to form a bond, have unexpected adventures, and experience a gorgeous part of the world. I was happy to go along with them. A gem of a movie.

I really got caught up in this, though I do hate films with enigmatic endings! I don't understand why Annika Foster has a double credit as I can't recall anyone calling her Sophia. Lovely scenery, worth it for that alone.
