Emergency

At its core, Emergency has an incredibly interesting and important story to tell. However, it fails to deliver a truly engrossing or cinematic experience. Scenes run long and there is a stark lack of music throughout most of the film. It results in a viewing experience that feels like "I'm just watching things happen" rather than watching a specific, artistic creation. Still, I think there is a strong base to the movie's story, the actors' chemistry, and the characters' relationships. I simply wish there was more personality to the filming. A movie like this would have been much more engaging with a Jordan Peele-like take, honing in on the horror or suspense of the situation. Or perhaps, a stronger lean into the comedy. The actual result is a movie that fails to be very funny when it means to be, and also fails to deliver much suspense when needed.

The movie starts off as a comedy, then goes into being a thriller then decides to switch back into comedy, then shifts into a drama and finally a weird "GET OUT" ending moment? I have no idea what I was watching and it was painful, however I wanted to see where it was going. The acting isn't the best and the story is so ridiculous with so many plot holes. You can tell this movie was really trying to "be something" but it wasn't anything at all. Pretty much a waste of an hour and a half and it is half an hour too long. The woke politics are pretty clear in the movie and I tried to watch it with an open mind but sadly It was a complete waste of time. I went into the movie thinking it was a comedy and I did laugh at some parts but then it got very dark and heavy. Not an enjoyable movie by any means.

Very good movie. Realistic and impactful. The acting is good from mostly unknown/ unfamiliar talents. Some cliche theme and common "college" buddy film tropes, but the message still hits hard.

Don't know what this is. Wasn't funny. It wasn't anything. There was nothing fun about this movie. Those that give it 10 stars think this is the best movie they've ever seen haha. We know that isn't true. So why give it 10 stars? They must have an agenda. It had a decent picture so I'll give it that. There's no way this movie is worth more than a 3 star rating. I'll give it a 2 because of all the fake 10s.

When I was young (yes, I have always been a film buff), I always marveled how foreign moviemakers could make a great film with an insightful plot, cultural sensitivity, and great acting in a film about one day. I am thrilled that Carey Williams has created such an incredible film about one NIGHT in the lives of young Black Americans. It combines humor, music, suspense, anger, horror, fun, disappointment and sadness, just as every Black American, regardless of geography or economic status, experiences. I have often said that, despite (or maybe because of) everything that happened in 2020, white Americans learned more about their fellow white relatives (e.g., found out Uncle George has a Nazi uniform in the attic?) and friends than they did about Black Americans. Here is an opportunity for all Americans to learn a lot from the comfort & safety of their living rooms when Emergency arrives on streaming channels.

Because I watched it and Im smart. But seriously folks...Don't believe the onesies and twosies. They didn't get it. I got it. You will too. Politics aside.

Terrible film, the whole plot was petty, pointless and unrealistic. So a girls drunk and vomits, big deal..give her some water and wait for her to wake up, end of film. So the girls sister panics when she finds her sister in a van in the woods with three strangers, weird right? The guys happen to be 2 black guys and one latino. But the film makes it out that she's only panicking cause they're not white. She's obviously be fine if they were 3 white guys in a van in the woods with her 17 old sister....not! So not credible, and trying to divide us as ever. This is what sells now adays division and race baiting. And the last scene when they drive to the hospital, if you see the scene from the police's point of view of course he gets thrown on the ground. Then the end scene, and that look on his face, pure cheese! The film should actually be used in schools to show how the media can be used to manipulate peoples opinions and divide us and create a victim mentality.

This movie was powerful and enjoyable! The characters were relatable funny. The plot was very believable and it looks like the folks that have issue with it are not POC, who could never understand the juxtaposition between doing the right thing, and doing what's going to keep you and your family safe.

MY REAL RATING.. ZERO Seriously Amazon, or whoever produced this garbage! Where did you get the actors from. None of them have any qualities which would make the viewer watch them for more than 30 seconds, leave alone a whole movie. What an absolute garbage this was, who made this, why is it even a movie. There are so many why's!!? But no answers. To avoid these questions for future viewers if any, I wrote this here, so as to save them the trouble. You're Welcome, still a word of caution.. AVOID THIS AT ANY COST, OR EVEN IF IT'S FREE.

For this story to have a young black man crying about how the cop put a gun to his face... you were in a car that didn't stop when trying to be pulled over. What do you think was going to happen??.. they were going to give you a prize... they have no idea why you didn't pull over and Until they get an understanding of the situation, they are going to take every precaution. For this move to try and tell this story of woe is me is bullsh1t. This is a slow and horrible movie.
