There is definitely some parody in the first half or so of the movie, June's character especially. It's definitely meant for people of the current TikTok media influencer generation. The only obvious insider thing is Miranda Cosgrove using her favorite curse word a couple times. For me, it's always fun to see Miranda in something, Beverly D'Angelo is great as always, the rest of the cast does well. Laughed out loud often. Esther Povitsky does more stuff hopefully. Kind of movie that people will remember fondly 10 or 15 years from now, maybe not so much now. Product of it's time, genius will be recognized later.

It's, just, a bit, amateurish. It watched like it was scripted, directed... by a film student. A bit generic. Like, who ever made it had watched Napoleon Dynamite too many times. As for the acting. Sheesh! The lead isn't great. I'm trying to be nice, but, I don't know these people so I can be honest. She's a terrible actress. That's cruel. She could do with a few more acting lessons & a few less botox injections. I'm presuming it's botox as the upper part of her face has no movement, ergo, expression; which all adds to the lack of acting capability. Also, the adult woman acting like a teenager bit, has been cornered by Aubrey Plaza. And it's a bit cringe worthy, especially when these people get further away from teens and closer to retirement age. The lady lead in this is late 30s? The botox is a give away. Jaded. Unoriginal. Amateurish. But someone will think it's good. I got just over half way before giving up.

I'm not sure how Bobby Lee keeps getting cast as a mild-mannered medical professional(ish) but his role should have been loud and funny to get the most out of him. June's parents, while beloved actors, also speak barely above a whisper. I'm not sure if it's meant to create a bigger contrast to June, but it that's the case it was bad direction. The story is great though, and Esther is highly entertaining. I'd love to see another movie with Esther, Bobby, Bill Burr, Ms. Pat and Trevor Wallace with some better casting and direction for the other characters, and for heaven's sake a role for Bobby that has a little more "Bobby" in it!

The character is cringe. That's intentional. It's a satirical look at how those people behave. If you can't see that, you should probably remove yourself from the situations or the people that TRIGGER ... YOU ... into not seeing things for what they are. If you didn't understand the film, you're likely part of the target and you will never understand. Very few films in the past 10 years have made me laugh out loud. This one accomplished that on multiple occasions. And I'm not some shill for anyone involved in the film. Bill Burr's scene was one of the funniest in years. Perfect delivery. And though I've never seen the lead anywhere else, she delivered as well. Hopefully that's not a reflection of her true self. If so, then at least she'll have a pièce de résistance. At the very least, will one day perhaps be a cult classic.

This tells a story of a so-called social media star as she works in a local pharmacy and hounds her ex boyfriend for his affection. When one night the pharmacy she works in got robbed, she tries to solve it and starts understanding herself and the people around her. Its somewhat run on the mill but I felt it tried something AND its mostly works. Its not that bad actually. I do think the initial half of the film was aimless and too stylized to a fault. It could have been tighter or at least setup the ending (which was convoluted and pulled out of nowhere). I also wished that at least two or three characters where built up more as I think that most of the characters has interesting stories in them BUT at least, once the crime starts its picks up AND finds its groove. Danielle Bregoli is shocking so good in her cameo. I was so shocked how good she was. I wish she tries more acting work to be honest. I do think Esther Povitsky was just ok. I do think the writing failed her initially as it was just a lot of characterization, and skits that felt repetitive at some point. Other than that, this is just a potpourri of semi-famous actor/comedians who are doing their bit parts. Not enough material for judgment. Overall, better than expected. I really appreciate that they were at least trying to be something, and was witty.

The script totally sucks, the story is super weak and I only laughed twice throughout the whole movie. Esther's acting was OK and she was very pretty in it. In the other hand, I didn't like Bobby's acting, it's like he's not even trying. There were appearances from many famous comedians, but each of them was only two or three lines long, I wish they participated more. Bill Burr's part was really good. I'm not gonna tell the end, but the plot twist is really disappointing. What's good: A couple jokes got me, Esther is so pretty, Bill Burr did well. What's bad: pathetically weak story, disappointing plot twist, weak jokes, HORRIBLE script.

I went into this movie blind, but being a fan of Bobby Lee, Steph Tolev and Bill Burr I thought hey- this is going to be so good! I've seen Esther before in a few things and I know she is funny and she can act. The first 10 minutes, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I thought it was setting us up to see what a "loser" this 30-year-old still living with her parents was. I'm still unclear on what age she was supposed to be. There were no stakes in this movie. No one was forcing her to move out, no one was making her do anything on her own. I think they were insinuating that she was overweight throughout the movie, but she didn't visually appear that way. The main character never became likeable. She wasn't even likeable in an unlikable way. There was nothing redeeming about the character. She wasn't a hero, or an anti-hero. There was a very loose plot. There was no story arc, no climax, no anything. I still don't really know what the movie was about. The last 10 minutes hastily and quickly wrapped things up. There was no character development, or any character redemption. This movie was stacked with great actors and comedians, but, where was the funny? The dad was supposed to be a good for nothing gambler, which was a weird thing that popped up halfway through the movie, even though they live in a giant, beautiful house and their bedrooms were stacked with anything they could ask for. It just wasn't believable. The brother sounds like he was written by a 50 year old who opened tiktok for the first time. I don't know. I wanted to love this movie. But it was just impossible. Seemed like it was going for Juno or Napoleon Dynamite vibes, but the writing wasn't there.
