Drake and Josh are funny with their jokes, the plot about the arrest of Josh made some good jokes but it do not felt like it was something that could happen in the show, the thing about the childs was weird and predictable, Megan worked perfectly and the officer tram sucked

A great Christmas special! I love Drake & Josh so much, I wouldn't expect anything less from its holiday episode/movie! It's a 9/10 from me, so festive!

I honestly don't know what to rate this film. Critically speaking it's probably not a good movie. I like this purely because i grew up with the show as a kid. The leads of Drake Bell and Josh Peck are hilarious with great comedic timing and chemistry. The story is genuinely heartwarming in that you are rooting for them to give this family the best Christmas ever. This movie does have some huge problems. For one the law just does not work in this universe. In the beginning Josh is arrested because they mistakenly think he crash the party on the roof of the premier theater. Josh is put in an actual prison (they are not just holding him at the station this is an actual prison) with no trial. Drake first tries to use a lawyer to get Josh out. Drake pays the lawyer $3000 in advance, the dude drives off with the money and you can see the licence plate say "FKELWYR". Drake then attempts to break Josh out of Prison and is caught. They have a trial in which they argue Drake had to break his brother our or he would not be able to fulfill the promise of giving the best Christmas ever to the foster family. The judge sets them free because "you can't break a Christmas promise". They are then looked after by officer Gilbert who instructs them them to not break the promise or they will be sent back to jail. Officer Gilbert throughout the film will try to hinder their chances by sending guys to steal their clothes so he can give them a ticket and towing there car because "it's blue". The film is however consistent in the law making no sense. it's kinda like an 80s shenanigans movie in that the police are just bad at their jobs. Officer Gilbert is a hilarious over the top villain. His backstory is a haunting traumatic memory from my childhood. Every actor is giving a great performance whether it be a starring role or a five minute cameo. Miranda Cosgrove is great and devious as Megan as always. Jerry Trainor is hilarious as Crazy Steve and steals every scene he's in. This is just a really fun movie that you need to just have fun with. If you go into this expecting to hate it you are but if you go into it because you liked the show and you wanna see these characters have a fun Christmas adventure then it's worth a watch.

I only saw this movie once in 2009, 5 years ago. From what I remember, I didn't like the movie as it isn't the Drake & Josh we know. I mean the show by all means is hilarious, I love the show and I just reviewed it on IMDb, giving it a 10/10. I also really like the other movie they made for this show, Drake & Josh Go Hollywood. That movie was a great action movie they made with the characters Drake & Josh. It even got lots of viewers, and was critically acclaimed, that's awesome!! However, I saw this movie once and did not like it. I'll explain why I don't like it for a few reasons. Again the writing seemed to be different than it was in the show which made the movie less bad. But, in this movie it seems like Drake and Josh are trying to be less selfish, are trying to do things for other people, and nobody likes them or trusts them, even though they didn't do anything that should make them disliked in the first place, and those two were doing everything they can. So, this definitely is not a movie you'd want to see for Christmas even if you are a fan of Drake & Josh, unless you want to know what happens. I give it a 2/10.

I'll be honest, I was pretty surprised and excited when I saw they were making a "Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh". We never really experienced a series finale, so they sort of ended the show in an odd way.
To get the point, I'm not impressed. It just, it wasn't Drake & Josh! The directing and script just didn't have the same feel as the series. I wouldn't blame the mostly bad acting as much as I would blame the script. The story was just terrible to say the least.
There was no Drake & Josh comedy that we were used to, unless you are 7 years old. I have friends that are 18+ and they got a kick out of the series, but it seemed they were aiming this to very little kids, yet at the same time throwing in bits and pieces that would make no sense to children.
I don't want to give away any spoilers by fully explaining some of the characters, but I will say a majority of the actors were horrible actors. I know a lot of people will say, "But they were just kids", well so was Miranda and she was a fantastic actress.
I don't know, maybe I'm a hater and I expect nothing but thumbs down, but I'm a long time Drake & Josh fan. I watched it from the start and never stopped, but "Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh" completely disappointed me.

I had seen the comments here before watching the movie. Some people here bashed this movie as not funny, some others have said it was OK. But I went ahead and watched the movie, and to my not-so-surprise, I found the movie very funny. I had many laughs. Thoroughly enjoyable movie. Drake and Josh are back! The movie starts with Drake and Josh planning their Christmas, and then there is this Christmas Party. A Santa(Drake), A girl who is an orphan. This girl asks Drake for "the best Christmas ever". An emotional Drake promises that.
You can break a Christmas Promise! You just cannot! And the rest of the story is all about how Drake and Josh try to make this Best Christmas ever happen.

Okay this movie is very cheesy and dumb. But its a good movie for kids and very entertaining. I'm currently 15 years old and i still like Drake and Josh. I've seen every episode about 20 times each. And i will tell you right now, its not the same Drake and Josh that your used to. Its definitely not as funny but i still like this movie. It came out when i was about 9 so its been around for about 6 years. But they play it on nickelodeon every year around Christmas, so if you have cable check it out. The side characters aren't that great, but hey its Drake and Josh so what do you expect. Overall this is a funny, cheesy, entertaining Christmas Movie that i would recommend.
