Don't attempt to try and understand the story line. The story begins up front, I think, then cuts to a back story, then slaps in a middle story and a severed arm that has a tattoo of a lock combination on it, and then winds up in a desert someplace in the USA. Or, maybe it's the reverse? I don't care. What blew my mind was just sitting back in a great movie house and enjoying the brilliant cinema photography, editing and sounds. Of course, looking at the Domino character wasn't a hardship, either. In the end, when the credits came on, I saw this movie as the work of a genius, an abstract director, painting a giant abstract. And when he was finished, giving it to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

FLAWNESS. Well, this is 1st!! I can't wait till the movie is finished to post my comments... As it turns out, Domino, what a pile of shxt... Starts right from the point where she heard "remove ... the right arm" instead of "remove his shirt from his upper right arm"!! Like u have to give instruction to retarded people!? Alright, I can dig that!!! They are a bunch of nervous rack, and instruction would help. But then they drink the stuff prepared by the woman whose son's arm got shot off by them, now that's fxxking original! And unbelievably stupid... If u're a son of a powerful mafia, and someone is about to execute u, would u say nothing?

There are a lot of aspects that contribute to making this a good movie. The acting and directing are first-rate. The cinematography and color grading are fantastic, reminiscent of Natural Born Killers and Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. There are a lot of well done action sequences. Although this movie can feel a bit chaotic at times, the story remains in focus (even if some aspects of it remain a mystery for much of the film). The plot makes sense and is believable. I particularly liked all the "random" nonsense that some people might have found distracting. The 90210 actors, Jerry Springer, Chris Walkin and the reality crew, all of it was highly amusing in the midst of a deathly serious situation. I thought it successfully created some levity, broke the tension a bit, without changing direction. All in all the movie told its story well and left me feeling satisfied.

stars: Keira Knightly, Edgar Ramirez, Mickey Rourke, Monique, Delroy Lindo, Christopher Walken, Lucy Liu, Jerry Springer, Tom Waitts and others. This is a really well written movie. It obviously deals with Domino Harvey, a nice girl who becomes a bounty hunter. A sleazy TV producer (Walken) decides to make a reality show out of their lives and it goes into a big confusing adventure. In order to get the whole plot, you need to see the entire film. My only problems with the film are the direction at times gets too jumpy and annoying and the lackluster ending to the film. I do recommend it though, even though parts did annoy me. My rating- 2 1/2 out of 4 stars. rated R for pervasive strong language, sexuality and nudity, some drug content and violence. 118 mins.

This is Tony Scott's Natural Born Killers, only instead of messages and themes of media and troubled families causing violence, this is more of a coming of age, living life how you want to, doing the right thing, making you life mean something related film. With similar cinematography, editing, and the style of Man on Fire, Scott explores a new subject, and does it well. Although Man on Fire is better, this is still a great film. Just because it actually requires the use of your brain doesn't make it a bad film, thats the only reason its not doing well in America, but if you don't mind thinking for 2 hours then this is the film for you. The acting is good, the story is complex and fast paced, the technical aspects are, well come on its Tony Scott, there is little action but the climax is great and intense. Overall its a great film with great themes, i give it a 9 out of a 10.

Having made films in both production and post production I can appreciate this movie for how absolutely, tremendously difficult it would have been to make and edit. William Goldenberg (the editor) has been known for editing the Michael Mann film Heat. Being an absolute superb editor he did a perfect job on this film. Not only the way this movie was made, but the story wasn't bad either. Frankly, I don't see where there is a problem to have with this movie. Domino is suspenseful and perfectly done, worth going for many different awards. Keira Knightly plays Domino, the rebelling bounty hunter who thinks the 90210 life style isn't her type. When she lands a job with Micky Roarke the real story starts to begin. With comedy, action, romance and a weird sense of adventure, this movie is definitely worth seeing. I give it an 8.8 out of 10.

"Domino" (2005), directed by famed "Top Gun" director Tony Scott, is a really jarring film. From its disjointed script (which isn't chronological in any way - told from a flashback point of view) to the jarring editing (using many post visual effects to give it a MTV-like style), this film really was an eye-sore. I also couldn't buy Keira Knightley as a bounty hunter, especially in the title character of Domino Harvey (I had the same problem with her performance in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series). Mickey Rourke though was quite good as her bounty hunter mentor Ed Mosbey (his performance reminded me of his acting in "Sin City" as Marv). All in all though, this film just doesn't hold water - a 6 out of 10.

Tony Scott has done it again. Pushed the envelope. The only good review I could find was in the New York Times...this tells you a lot about how far ahead TS is. Of course all the people who liked all those DVDs you hated yourself for sitting through hated Domino. These are the same people that hated Man on Fire or Revenge. The new levels of technique Mr. Scott has been trying out have bothered many film goers. However, ask yourself how many directors and studios are cranking out product that is completely middle of the road and presents absolutely no challenge to the audience. I certainly think there is much more room for the major budget film industry to take risks and give the audience some choices and challenges. I would hate to see these efforts dampened by bean counters!

This was directed by Tony Scott and this is better then his last movie Man On Fire but just as good as True Romance, Revenge and The Last Boy Scout. Keira Knightly plays Domino Harvey, a bounty hunter who's father was Laurence Harvey and he died while she was a young girl and her mother sends her off to a boarding school. She grows up and is kicked out of college and the next thing she winds up being partners with Mickey Rourke and Edgar Ramirez. Knightly's mother doesn't like her doing this kind of work but she doesn't care. Things are going well with the three of them until a simple job turns into a big nightmare that includes the F.B.I and the mafia. The main problem with the movie is that their are too many characters but it is still a great movie and if you liked Tony Scott's previous action movies, you'll like this one.

They say there's no sense in beating a dead horse, but let's try anyway. TONY SCOTT has the movie-maker's ability of a 3rd grader on crack, making inept use of a spray-paint can. DOMINO is a mess, the kind of dud that proves Hollywood is out of touch with America. Receiving TWO THUMBS UP from Chicago's know-nothings Ebert & Roper ought to have served as a warning to leave this one on the shelf. I didn't give a SPOILER warning because giving away the story would be impossible; like listening to a deranged homeless guy on a Thunderbird-inspired rant. Look over TONY SCOTT's track record on this site and you can see why the man needs work other than in films. Hopefully, after this artistic and financial fiasco, nobody will be trusting this loser with their dollars. Walt Disney's Thumper said, "If you can't say somethin' nice, don't say nothing' at all." So OK, it wasn't as bad as a Peter Jackson movie; not as dreadful as the pseudo-remake of King Kong.
