This was absolute garbage. Terrible acting, very little storyline, just nonsense really. If you're considering watching it, don't.

I can't believe this movie has gotten high ratings so far. This 'movie' has essentially no plot besides some aspiring DJ sleeping with hot chicks. Looking at hot chicks is a positive (if you are a guy - check out the ratings by demographics, skewed ya?), and you get to listen to some decent music if you are into that kind of thing. You can easily duplicate the entire experience by going to a club for 2 hours though, and it is the real thing.
The reason why I gave it a 2 (and not a 1) is that the 5 minutes or so of interviews was mildly entertaining and it was nice to put some faces to some of the more famous DJs around.

I was expecting your average, been done before, hyped-up movie, but I did enjoy Hey DJ. It was different and enjoyable. I really enjoyed the eclectic cast. Every actor in the movie (and DJ), played their part well. I particularly enjoyed the smaller parts...the casting director did a great job from every angle, and hence the title of my message "Way to go Johnson" I took the name of one of my favourite characters! I thought the role (played by Terry Camilleri) was done very well and couldn't have been casted better. A great addition to a truly exceptional cast. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants an unusually entertaining and far out evening! Great film, my favourite parts being the plot and acting, but I did enjoy the entire movie! SEE THIS MOVIE!

The flick has some artistic glare, the color filter and indy-style help to taste the Miami/ibiza air, though, I skipped through most of this flick, the soundtrack rules, remembered to a lot of nicely laid tracks (mixed), though the inter-splice of DJs and promoed cameos is off--they jive so far from the story line--and it's so improved it jerks the rest of the movie.
The girls are hot, though--sure enough, but unfortunately all come off somewhat lame -- not truly exotic like tru tecno iz I wish someone would make a flick more about the sickness of the scene, the best most off the wall raves, have the realness of the scene be the carrier, and the actors have to flow with it, rather than attempted integration into--plus, this "Elvis" character sucks, it's not about the music, it's about this nerd trying to learn how to spin... AKA, HE'S NOT A REAL DJ! One interview in the beginning even states it -- if you shouldn't be trying to be a DJ if you suck to begin with - it should be inherent what you are trying to do.

i was very fortunate to catch a viewing of this movie, and i must say that i was highly impressed with this movie. the acting in it is great, especially that of the relatively unknown "fysche." she really lit up the screen, and if this is an inkling of the talent she has, the silver screen better get ready for the arrival of FYSCHE!
hopefully we see more of this SIREN! vive le fysche!!

I sneaked a peek at this last night, and had a ball. The international DJ scene is explored from the fish lens of a British transplant in South Beach. The lead character is a bit of a hound dog, but it's all in good fun, and the music is a gas. I liked the way the filmmakers incorporated fantasy and reality, and were unafraid to use sexuality shamelessly, without becoming a cheesy excuse for depicting soft-core *. A lot of actual DJ's were introduced, but their personalities were not as fully explored as I would have enjoyed, but I got a taste of the scene. Jacobs is quite a character, and I hope to see him more often. HEY DJ rocks a medium that has become altogether too flaccid.

This movie blows my mind. I was expecting just your everyday movie about DJ's and the crazy party scene, but instead HEY DJ unfolds into an entertaining and loveable romantic comedy. It aptly chronicles the madness and mayhem that surround dating more than one woman at a time, also; there is an interesting dichotomy between the women themselves as well.
I have briefly visited Miami once but after viewing HEY DJ at a test screening at Sundance it makes me want to move down there for the amazing nightlife, gorgeous scenery, and world class knock 'em dead beautiful women. The entire cast gives an epic performance. My favorite character is the female DJ Fysche. She seems a newcomer on the scene and her performance is breakthrough. I think we will be seeing more of this lovely lady on the big screen. Fysche is raw, and leaves us wanting more!
Go Fysche!

This movie will be the groundbreaking movie for the star, Fysche. Watch out! She's an up and coming actress. This movie is full of twists and spins. The movie is just a great one to have fun on a Friday night. Sit back and Enjoy!!
