Boring, corny, bad acting, bad writing, very dated script, would be corny in 1967. Terrible.

Has some quantum physical plot-theme spoilers. Not real heavy physical plot spoilers. The film opens up with Cassie Sinclair (Courtney Hope) waking up in an ice bath,no memory on how she got there and a note to herself. We soon discover she is in a time entanglement or loop and needs to find the "negation point" to stop the merry-go-round. Cassie attempts to figure out what has happened, she trusts no one, especially the folks who have her duct taped to a chair. The film does the "see how clever we are" scenes of repeating themselves adding another viewpoint/element that we have seen so many times in other features. While the film is classified as science fiction, it is more of a drama/mystery with a science fiction background. The special effects were extremely inexpensive and unimpressive. It first starts explaining time travel with "particle pairs" and "quantum physics." Then at 32 minutes into the film it was Einstein's gravitational loop....and quantum physics. Later it was the "Philadelphia Experiment" which was radar ....and quantum physics. There was no distinct answer and I am not sure how these all interact and wonder why they didn't toss out "string theory" while they were at it.We never got to see the actual machine that causes time travel, it was operated remotely in a hotel room on a laptop and magically effected the person who pushed the button. Films that have good science tend to have lousy characters. Films that have great characters, tend to have lousy science. This one was more about character and why Cassie wanted to create time travel which I found to be a little underwhelming...save the earth? Stop a war? An assassination? Nope...to take her dying mom to see the ocean on last time. The film had a made-for-TV style soundtrack and I felt like I was watching a film on Lifetime and not SyFy which for some people is a good thing. Guide: 1 F-word. No sex or nudity. Winner of several best Science fiction awards.

Like many of you that have watched or are considering watching this movie, I'm a time-travel movie fan. Guessing for most of you, the first "Back to the Future" movie is probably one of your favorite movies. Well, I made it through 40 minutes of this time-travel movie and could not continue. The dialogue was horrible which made the directing horrible. Unfortunately, this also contributed to horrible acting as well. The MC was unwatchable. She may very well be a good actress with better material and maybe a better director. The movie tells us there's a displacement in time that can only be fixed by the MC's thesis equation. I could not finish to find out what happens, as the movie was just way too slow and boring! Sorry, but I cannot recommend this time-travel movie.

This film was infuriatingly wrong in so many ways. Even Star Trek bases their sci fi on real physics . I mean I this film she initiated the temporal wave from her dam hotel room. You'd need at least a particle accelerator. We see no machine capable of even being a science experiment much less the satisfy sci fi buffs.

I thought it was a neat little movie. It's about this woman played by Courtney Hope who kicks off an experiment in quantum physics only it backfired and she keeps appearing and shifting through various times as she tries to work out what is happening to her and fix the problem. But as she goes other versions of her appear around the place, and there's a neat scene where she's watching one of those and trying to change events for the better but to no effect. It's scifi but not big budget scifi and there's no big special effects which I thought I'd be disappointed with but truth be told I liked this movie for its minimal use of that, since it was also a fairly low budget movie. It's the drama and story that kept me interested and it's a hard movie to describe in a few words without giving away a huge chunk of it. Anyway 6/10 for me.

I read a review saying this was the bees knees in a lot more words. It isn't, but a reasonable watch in my opinion. The story is OK, if you like Sci-fi and time travel then Displacement ticks those boxes but it's not pulling up any trees. Timecrimes and Triangle are similar films to this but both are far superior. Although logic gets thrown out the window when watching most time travel films, you can follow a certain logic to them which comes from the writers/directors having a clear idea of what they are trying to accomplish. For instance, the time-travel logic in Timecrimes was clever and gripping and exciting. Yes you can picks holes but it is still fun to go along with it. In Displacement there is a clear lack of fun and minimal intrigue. It did keep me watching until the end so it has enough intrigue in that respect but it didn't excite me as much as other time travel films I've seen such as Timecrimes and Triangle to name but two. Overall, I would say give it a go as there is a dearth of new time travel films to watch right now, here's hoping that will change soon.

Great story line with well written characters. Cinematography is spot on. I wish there were a sequel. Loved seeing Bruce Davidson in his gritty roll. The whole idea of time jumping has appealed to me since I first saw SlaughterHouse 5. This film compares favorably in how the time jump is portrayed.

If you are into this kind of a movie, it's not bad. I have to admit that it is not as good as 2004's "Primer". most of the characters, other than of the protagonist, are either one or two dimensional. And, the protagonist herself is barely developed. I'm not even sure why the boyfriend is even in the plot other than to provide something else to deal with. If it wasn't for the fact that he has a few lines to say in the film, a clife sized picture would have done just as well. And, if you have any knowledge of quantum physics, you will quickly understand that the writers don't really understand the concepts and are just using the concepts as the "magic elements" of the film. Most of the special effects are traditional with a little CGI thrown in at the end. If you choose to watch it, prepare to suspend all belief.
