If you know what you're getting into, this film does offer a little joy and laughter. Filled with little jokes and some smart references, Dinner For Schmucks does pull off a small feat, but it just doesn't feel like it can go the full mile. Some parts of this film are quite cringe worthy, boring and plain unfunny, whilst other parts do manage to make you giggle a bit. If you watch Dinner For Schmucks, one thing you will notice is the incredibly hilarious performance by Zach Galifianakis. His performance is practically what pulls this film home. Though this film wont be on any top 1000 lists, it's still a good one to watch when there is nothing else to watch.

The only people who would possibly enjoy and find this movie terrific are possibly the dumbest people on earth--who can quite match up to Steve Carrell's character in this blunder and waste of Hollywood talent. I have seen so many great movies with Carrell and Rudd, this was not one of them. The movie should have been called, "How my life was ruined by the biggest idiot in the world". Unrealistic, ridiculous, and only funny to those on the same level of the Schmucks. I would not see this movie again. Ever. 2/10

I simply do not understand why so many people like this. Honestly, a post said it was funnier than The Hangover?! I just do not understand some people... I went to see this simply because I am a fan of Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd. I was really excited going in. 20 minutes into the movie, I wanted to leave. I did not laugh once during the movie. It was so painful to sit through this movie. The humor was so awful, a middle school child could write this movie. I really wish I could get my 7 bucks back, not because I am upset I lost it, because I do not want to give this movie any money. I would rather have the 7 bucks given to a child in the theater to go play video games. Everyone!....please listen to me and save your time and money. This is nothing like The Hangover, The Office, I Love You Man, nothing like any of those. Just plain terrible

With such a great cast, I was really looking forward to watching this film, I love both Rudd and Carrel's work and think they are great in most comedies they star. Unfortunately this film must be one of the worse films I have watched in a long time, its so terribly bad it didn't get a single laugh out of me for the whole film, in fact I had to commit myself to watch it to the end, and it took me 3 days to finish the viewing. There's some big comedians on supporting roles, but it really doesn't help the film. The script is just dreadful, it just doesn't work, the story is ridiculous which shouldn't be a problem for a comedy, but in this one everything is so predictable its painful. 1 star is a generous rating, avoid at all costs.
