Demon Wind

In 1931, two grandparents fight to survive a demon-infested farmhouse. One grandparent gets possessed who frequently vomits and the other drops a snow globe which blows up the entire farmhouse. Cut to the "Present day," where Cory is plagued by awkward dreams and demands answers about the death of his grandparents. Cory and his obnoxious friends set out to the farmhouse to find answers. The landscape cinematography is nice. The gross special makeup effects are effective. One of the most confusing and idiotic "Evil Dead" wannabes ever seen, in addition "Demon Wind" is filled with nonstop cheesiness and one-liners. For instance, one of Cory's friends stabs a demon in the eye. The demon reverts back to human form, then becomes a teenage, then a baby, and finally a dove. What!? Moments like this are throughout the movie. This "so-bad-it's-good" movie is quite indescribable.

Man if you like those practical effects and great old school cheesy horror. I promise thise won't let you down

Nothing to see here. Demon Wind tries to exploit the success of Evil Dead series, but without any charismatic lead characters, suspense or comedy, it falls flat.

I have spent the better part of my life watching +%^*$*+ horror movies. This one right here; this is one of the best. Shame that I did not see it in my teens, but watching it my mid 30s I am transported back to those long VHS nights; that warm feeling you get when Ash goes looking for the chainsaw in the tool shed, the 'clack' of the old mans watch at the start of The Fog, Ragman playing his Sammi Curr record backwards, Tarman creeping out from the darkness, melting face parents in The Gate, 'hey, there's two guys from Home Alone' in C.H.U.D, and all those other sparks of magic were long lost in the jaded malaise of adulthood. No my friend. They are still out there...in movies like Demon Wind.

I first saw this movie when I was about five and found it very scary. A few years ago I rented it thinking that it was still scary but instead I found myself busting a gut. I cannot believe this movie gave me nightmares for weeks. I think the most awesome part of this movie is when there is a naked woman outside the window but as the guy gets more tempted she turns into this disgusting demon thing. I hate to say it but I am a sucker for bad movies. I would not necessarily call this a bad movie, however as I have seen worse. If you are a horror fan or a deranged redneck from the hills of Arkansas this should really be your calling, all I can say is rent this mother. Cory J. McWuss

"Demon Wind" shows some imagination in the early going...but by the last 20 minutes or so it has become an insult to anyone's intelligence. It has some OK (for the budget) special effects and some eerie moments (the best is easily the one involving a door that, at first sight, appears to be leading...nowhere), but just like the characters do battle with an army of demons (or are they zombies? They sure walk and moan like zombies), those good points do battle with the mostly laughable acting and an inconsistent, often moronic script...and they lose. (**)

Some whiny ass and his privileged peckerwood friends investigates his grandparents home to only be terrorized by demons and stuff. Demon Wind is a horror action hybrid that is a cross between Demons (1985) and The Evil Dead. Yes, it was an easy comparison. Though not as illustrious as the aforementioned movies, it's still an entertaining piece of "good bad" cinema with some terrible acting accommodated by unintelligible dialogue, lots of action sequences with a lot of bloody gory goodness and a cliche horror story. The demon voice effects can get a bit irritating but it's not too bad. So, I liked it so up yours.

This movie has zombies, some gore, male and female nudity, scary scenes, the typical screaming bimbos and their dumb boyfriends so I don't know why a lot of people don't like it. The cast is good, and all of them continued doing Horror Flicks: Sherry Bendorf: SLAUGHTERHOUSE Eric Larson: UNINVITED Francine Lapensee and Bobbie Johnston: HOLLYWOOD'S NEW BLOOD Stephen Quadros: SHOCK 'EM DEAD Richard Gabai: AFTER MIDNIGHT, WASP WOMAN Mia Riuz: WITCHCRAFT 2 I really reccomend this movie to anyone that likes b- scary movies, this one is fun andscary to watch.
