Released in 2007, "Decoys 2: Alien Seduction" chronicles events at a Canadian campus where female aliens masquerade as hot blondes and seduce male students in order to perpetuate their dying species. Corey Sevier and Kim Poirier return from the first film, the former as a secondary protagonist and the latter is one of the key aliens. Michelle Molineux plays another notable alien, amongst others, all gorgeous. This time Tyler Johnston and Kailin See star as the student heroes assisted by a few others. Dina Meyer and Tobin Bell are on hand as a psychiatrist and professor respectively. Like the first movie, "Decoys 2" mixes elements of 1995's "Species" with the campus environment of 1998's "Urban Legend," but also adds a subplot from 1999's "The Rage: Carrie 2" in that the male students compete in a game to see who can bed more hotties. If you like any of those films then you'll probably like this one, which is on par or better (except I prefer "The Rage" for reasons cited in my review). In any case, "Decoys 2" is cut from the same cloth as its predecessor and might even be a little better. It offers possibly even better women (e.g. Kailin See, Meyer and Molineux) and definitely has better F/X as the appearance of the creatures has noticeably improved. The cast is even better in that a group of students and someone else team-up against the aliens and their camaraderie is a pleasure. While many people hate the Decoys movies I give them a relatively high rating simply because they're entertaining, which is my main criteria for the worthiness of any movie. Both "Decoys" and "Decoys 2" hit most of the mandatory checkboxes for an effective horror flick. I particularly like the campus-in-the-dead-of-winter locations, which no other slasher/monster flick has done to my knowledge. Speaking of the locations, "Decoys 2" was shot on an Edmonton campus, roughly 2000 miles west of the Ottawa locations of the first film. Maybe the reason horror aficionados dislike the Decoys films is because they add humor and camp. I usually don't like horror films that mix-in comedy, like 2002's crappy "Cabin Fever," but the Decoys films mix them in a palatable way. Neither of these movies is scary, although there are a couple of "got ya" scenes and the aliens are hideous, but they're satisfyingly amusing with good casts and superb women. The film runs 94 minutes. GRADE: B

It's been so long since I watched the 2004 movie "Decoys", so I can't really recall it - way too many movies have been watched in between then and now. Regardless, I sat down to watch the 2007 movie "Decoys 2: Alien Seduction" from director Jeffery Scott Lando and writers Tom Berry and Miguel Tejada-Flores. Now, bear in mind that I am watching this mostly as a stand-alone movie, since I can't recall the events of the first "Decoys" movie. Turns out to be rather wholesome entertaining actually. Sure, this movie borrows heavily from the "Species" movies, but it still manages to put its own take on the plot and concept of the movie. If you are familiar with "Species" and enjoyed those movies, then you'll also like "Decoys 2: Alien Seduction". There was, however, a little bit too much of a teenage college comedy feel to the movie, where it bordered on becoming a spoof. There is an abundance of pretty faced ladies in "Decoys 2: Alien Seduction". And of course there would be, since it is the entire essence of the storyline. The acting in the movie wasn't too bad, and I will say that the actors and actresses were actually doing good enough jobs with their given roles and characters. All in all, "Decoys 2: Alien Seduction" lands on a six out of ten rating for me, as it was entertaining and enjoyable, and the whole concept of the movie was just campy and cheesy enough for me to prove interesting.

It's hard to believe that the distinctly-average-with-a-great-cast B-movie SPECIES would spawn numerous sequels and rip-offs, but I guess there's plenty of mileage in having tentacled aliens taking the form of beautiful blonde women and stripping off to procreate with unassuming earth-men. So far I've counted three SPECIES sequels and now two Canadian DECOYS movies, although there are probably plenty more that I've not encountered yet. DECOYS 2: ALIEN SEDUCTION is a typically cheesy and altogether fun little B-movie that was shot on and around a university campus. The Canadian climes give it a distinctly chilly backdrop which the writers exploit for all their worth (for some reason, the aliens have a fondness for below-zero temperatures). Male viewers may be disappointed in the fact that there's slightly less nudity than you'd expect from the premise, but there are other things to enjoy besides. Not least the characters, who are surprisingly warm and engaging for a low-budget B-feature. The male students, all of them desperate to lose their virginity, are surprisingly well-drawn and well-acted by genre standards and I enjoyed watching their interactions. The producers even rope in a couple of genre stalwarts, namely Dina Meyer (STARSHIP TROOPERS) and Tobin Bell (SAW) who both get little more than extended cameos. And the film is replete with cheesy-looking alien critters and a whole host of human-vs-aliens action at the climax; somehow this is more entertaining than the likes of the OTT mayhem of something like EVIL ALIENS. It certainly ain't high art, but I'd buy that for a dollar!

This movie was.... interesting. It was overall quite novel, but it suffered from a couple of draw backs. The first is that while the alien female cast is definitely attractive (and I am not saying the human cast isn't), but it appears as if someone had instructed them to try and act seductively while playing a part and they just end up coming across like the actors in the crappy * movies my flatmates used to find amusing. This is generally OK, but it really gets annoying in some places. Also, if you were hoping for a "Species" or an "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", you will be a little disappointed. The storyline in most places is fairly obvious, although there are a couple of features which make it different enough to make the film not a complete waste of time. Other than this, the special effects are certainly fair, the acting is decent (barring the notes above) and it's definitely watchable. It might not be a movie I would recommend to others as one to search out and watch, but if you have some time to kill or it's on TV there are a lot of other movies that are way worse than this.

The movie attempts to combine horror with a teenage sex comedy. It doesn't achieve either. The girls are all those sexy women you never meet in real life. The guys use their cell phones to take pictures of themselves having sex with girls, or in this case aliens with no belly buttons. The movie doesn't deliver on the hype. Go watch Species a second time.

To be quite honest, I don't remember a whole lot from the first "Decoys" except that it was a spirited and unpretentious little B-movie with a lot of sexy girls and silly situations. It had something to do with the members of a dying alien race transforming themselves into hot & voluptuous blond chicks, to mate with and kill the hormone-overloaded boys at a Canadian college. The 2004 original was a complete rip-off of "Species", but hey, at least it was good and straightforward brainless horror/Sci-Fi fun! The sequel delivers the exact same goods. During the ridiculously cold (-9° Fahrenheit!!) winter in Canada, a handful of blond bimbo aliens led by the ravishing Constance Snowden settle in another sleepy college town. The male populous here is so pathetic and horny that they launched a contest to see who can hook up with the highest number of girls before the end of the semester. The presence of sexy illegal aliens who are desperate to mate makes the contest a lot easier, only the men don't return to the dorm alive. Luke Callahan, the sole survivor of the first alien encounter, followed the blonds to their new playground but obviously nobody believes his crazy stories. Like the first film, this sequel isn't much of a masterpiece. It's a forgettable and derivative Sci-Fi comedy, but the performances are likable and the special effects are adorably cheesy. A nice diversion, nothing more and nothing less.

This movie is what i call a good light heart movie that serve its purpose well. It takes elements from the college boys movies, other elements from suspense, and a little part of the horror gender(even tough it ain't gore or scary at all). The story has flaws and its far from perfect, but for what it aim for it serve its purpose well. Much like the other reviewers i think if you watch this movie knowing exactly what it is(and liking that) you will have a good time. Even better with beers and a couple friends. Of course this movie is aimed at teens to young guys audience. This is one of those "watch a movie on Saturday night with a couple buddies, pizzas and beers" type. The female cast is great looking, the acting is decent enough, the story funny, overall its cool.
