Deadfall is alright. Not an academy award winner, but a pretty decent, well tought, well delivered movie with good star power. Leading man Eric Bana does excellent as Addison, the disturbed man who likely owes his psycological problems to a monster father, whom he killed to deliver his sister, played by the gorgeous Olivia Wilde as Liza. Charlie Hunnam also shines as the ex convict former boxer with his own dad issues who falls in loved with the troubled Liza. The plot worked pretty good till all the characters met in particular circumstances for thanksgiving dinner. That dinner unfolded a bit weird. i think it could have been doing better. Still, this Deadfall dark drama is surely worth of your time. As I mentioned, it's not an oscar winner, but its a decent, acceptable movie featuring pretty good stars. Enjoy it

This is a decent movie but as a thriller it doesn't thrill. Star-studded cast but interestingly only Olivia Wilde got the good lines and hence all the other talent got wasted. Not a bad central story line but too many loose ends.

Deadfall was a good movie overall, but the end leaves you to figure it out on your own. The movie is typical in a lot of ways. The bad guy gets killed and two people fall in love. It's a shame that poetic license turned it all to shambles in the end. If you are a person who places a lot of weight on the way a movie ends, then this one is not for you. If the ending is something that you like to write yourself, then this movie is ideal for you. The acting was up and down in quality, but it didn't detract from the movie. It won't be the most terrible movie of all time, and is worth a look; if you go in with the understanding that the ending is going to keep you guessing. On a scale of 1-5, I would rate it a 3. I am a person who does not wish to write my own ending. If you are going to make a movie, then answer all the question people will ask. That is just how I feel. If you plan to take a look, enjoy!

Deadfall is an entertaining crime/drama/thriller with an interesting and suspenseful story. The setting is northern Michigan near the Canadian/US border during a winter storm. The cast is great and deliver some strong performances. The characters are interesting, as are their backstories which give us a lot of insight into who they are. It's a simple story with a serious tone. It's about a brother and sister on the run from the police. They split up and each have some interesting encounters on their way to getting back together. There is nothing mind blowing here, just a really entertaining story. The beautiful, snowy landscape is a major star of this movie. For those that love winter settings and crime stories, you should find plenty to enjoy here.

The acting was solid. The photography was good looking. The story was at all moves hard to believe. No moves of any character seems reasonable. Some action was just comedy, like running in to a barbed wire and cut the head off – or like an Olympic boxer one hour out of prison accidentally kills his ex trainer… 10 points for the actors – with this script – and the photography, zero for the Script. I two times stopped the movie and ask my self see another one? I two times moved back – could I stand it? Nope – at 59 min Olivia on the run builds a snowman (!) – one last look at her beautiful smile and I decided: thats the best of all the movie. Like it? Hate it? Tell me: me@micharichter.de

I had really high hopes for this movie, being a big fan of Charlie Hunnam and Eric Bana but I don't feel like it delivered. For a 1:33min run time the film felt empty despite it's strong acting and continual sub-plots. There was a lot of side story action that never really went anywhere and left me feeling like there were too many characters with too little development to end up caring about nay of them. I was led to believe that "Jay" played by Charlie Hunnam was going to be a completely different role for him then ever previously seen, however I found it very hard to separate him from "Jax Tellar" from Sons of Anarchy. Overall the film wasn't as good as I'd hoped but wasn't a bad film for a Saturday night.

First off - in all fairness, I am NOT an Eric Bana fan. (Please note the 8 stars for this movie before you get angry at me.) But he was incredible in this movie. Now I will take him one movie at a time. This is a non-stop thriller. Don't think you know what comes next because You Have No Idea. And that's what makes this movie so watchable. The bad guys have a likability and some of the good guys do not. Don't hate yourself for that. Just go along for the ride. And Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm not saying this is an all action knockout. This type of movie with all the archetypal plot progressions that been carried out before. But it does it oh so well!!!!!!!!! It has good pace from the beginning, well-drawn characters, and delivers right amount of information as the film progresses to keep you interested in what happens next. There are no obvious spoilers tipping you off and the resolution has some refreshing twists. Yes, as I said it follows tried and tested formula's but does so 'oh so well' in the hands of some famous and other not so famous but excellent character actors. Lastly, the ending works so you will feel satisfied you didn't waste an hour and a half of your life watching it.
