Dawn

Ok I love movies watched maybe 20,000 movies, prolly more I'm 51 but I like All types from Stephen king to Christianity . Dawn was a great movie , few acting mishaps but story line is great . This is a could happen in real life movie with out all the gore. I like Gore Ofc but Dawn's great.

It was good. AI think there is something about precognition and God. But the last scene where Carrie is waiting to talk to her husband - and in real life you know your spouse is not going to just smile and hug you after you totally accuse them of that type of thing *spoiler. Intense and good for learning respect of others.

Sorry, but it is NOT that crappy of a movie! Sure ... no Oscars will be handed out, but ... it IS something different. My wife says if it doesn't contain at least one ZOMBIE, sword, dragon, or vampire, then I won't watch it. But everyone needs to watch something different occasionally. I know the "kid being duped by the online predator" has been done many times, but this one is a little different ... and I liked that. The "early" Jared Leto clone was a bit much but, fortunately, we see very little of him. And, while the writing was amateurish, the only thing I found myself kinda peeved about was why the "lead" actress didn't do more, sooner. If I really believed a child was in danger, I'd move heaven and earth to try and do something about it! If you've got nothing better to do, give this one a look. There are worse ways to spend an hour and a half, or so.

"Dawn" is a well-crafted, suspenseful thriller with a fascinating group of characters. The film unfolds primarily through the perspective of Carrie Saunders, a personnel director with a large firm. She received a phone call at work early in the film that seemed trivial at the time, but eventually has major consequences on the lives of all the characters. A non-believer, Carrie comes to believe that she is receiving a message from a higher power in a recurring dream about a young girl in the community. The girl named Dawn is abducted and murdered in the dream. The two detectives who visit Carrie's home and discuss the dream are both dismissive at first. But one of the detectives, Charles Grant starts to have the same dream. The various components the film effectively meshed as both Carrie and Charles are agnostics who experience a transformation due to their dreams. Charles' wife Avery, as well as his mother Grace, both believe in precognition. Grace is a friend of Carrie, and the performers were successful in making the interconnected relationships credible. A name that is important to mention is Cynthia A L Cherry, the writer-director-producer, who had a genuine vision for the film, which was never preachy. As the coincidences piled up, there came to be well-motivated and explainable actions for everything. And yet, there was still a dimension of mystique that the filmmaker captured that revealed how intuition may often trump reason in the real world.

My cat can act, write, film and direct better. Do yourself a favor and avoid this movie.

We found this to watch on Amazon Prime Video to watch, and figured it wouldn't hurt to try it as it was supposed to be a faith movie and a thriller, two things we like. This movie definitely hit on the thriller aspect, as this movie is downright scary for how real the story is, in that this is happening all over the world, every second of every day with predators trying to seduce young children. The religious aspect, while present, didn't take the center stage, and I think that helped this movie a lot. The infuriating parts are largely centered around Dawn's mother and Dawn herself, as well as Carrie. Dawn was far too young to have a cell phone, looking about 9-10 at the max, and far too young to be talking to boys on a cell phone about romantic interludes. And her mother, she says she's not a bad mother, but she was clearly a negligent one, who clearly should've known something was up when her kid all of a sudden seems to take an interest in soccer. Carrie irritated me a lot, as she claimed to be so concerned about Dawn, but when she goes to the place where the kidnapper and Dawn are at in the woods, her performance gets more and more painful to endure. But this movie was a good movie, especially if you want to Michael Sigler outside of a Jason Campbell movie.

I give this a 3 for creativity and effort! The acting was horrible. I like the theme around premonitions and the connection etc, but yea this didn't do it for me. Everyone either over or under acting. Script was not the best, but I do respect the time, effort and creativity that went into this.

-1 Star For the terribly flat acting of the lead.... she seemed really bad in this, maybe it was the script partially responsible -1 Star For The ridiculous 'Dance with Me' scene in the pub...yeah that doesn't happen, sorry -1 Star for the Wife's reaction when she finds out her husband of 16 years is 'trying to help' her There is some really really bad writing in this one We're really close to stopping this madness!!!! And that's it!! -1 Star for the 'Moses' scene in the bar!! This one has fallen off the stupid cliff! Didn't make it even 2/3 of the way..... Horrible!!! Horrible!!!! Horrible!!! 1/10

But, the acting was so bad, the directing was equally poor, and the writing was so terribly miserable that I'm mad that I even spent an evening of my life watching it. For a "spiritual" movie it lacked anything close to real emotion or depth. Very sad attempt on everyone's part. Please don't waste your time.

The plot had potential but I have have not seen worse acting anywhere. Shame.
