REVIEW - DARC A film I've never heard of but after reading the synopsis I thought I'd give it a go, you never know until you try (apparently). From what I can gather this film may not be shown in the cinema here in the UK so you may have to wait until it's available to stream. A film full of cliches which whilst repeating plots from a lot of other film in the same genre is still original enough and certainly entertaining enough to watch until the end. Yes its the usual story of one man can take down a whole.... and...... The martial arts fight sequences are excellent but the story is predictable so don't expect much in the way of plot twists but because of the action this is actually a very enjoyable film. Definitely one to watch with a few beers and a bag of popcorn while the kids are in bed. Rating 8 out of 10

It seems that director Julius R. Nasso picked up a few things from his days producing Steven Seagal movies, because in his directorial debut - this particular movie - the level of brutality is extraordinarily high. If you want to see scene after scene of people punched, kicked, shot, and stabbed, then you will really like this movie. The violence may not be directed with a lot of style or careful choreography, but you'll definitely feel every blow and wound. And thanks to a slightly higher than usual budget for a direct to video movie, Nasso does manage to make the movie look fairly sick and expensive. If you care about other things such as good writing, however, you'll probably be disappointed. The main plot unfolds pretty slowly, and the various plot turns you'll probably be able to guess long before they happen. And the characters are nothing memorable; the title character, for one thing, comes across as a slightly dim-witted thug that you won't particularly care about. But for some people, the cinematic sight of people over and over getting brutalized will help them let off some steam and be entertaining for 90 or so minutes. You know who you are, so if you're one of those particular people, press play and enjoy.

Boring movie and nothing was unexpected ! Story is an old fashioned one

While most people are only familiar with karate, gardens, yakuza, sushi, and American-Japanese WWII internement camps, you can watch this for some fun and leave the sociopolitical nonsense behind. This is fun for those of you who dream of being an honorable, good fighter who gets the hot girl and saves the day. He is a polite man of few words who can fight and kiss.

Another get your face "glued' to the screen Netflix movie. The main guy in the movie which is presented as the "Brave revengeful hero" of the movie is apparently stronger than Bruce lee and has 0 wanted stars. He's one of those dangerous people that bring death and pain to anyone that gets involved with them. Innocent people should stay away from dangerous lone wolves. The movie itself is decent, alot of blood, fast paced action, combat scenes, pure evil mixed with alot of agony. One of those movies that involve the life of the Mafias. And the ending isn't really satisfying, it was disappointing, it's missing some things like the aftermath but it leaves you in a thriller wondering.... TL;DR: It's a decent glue movie filled with action/thriller, blood, sweat, and tears. Attributes: Pros: Decent Glue movie Fast paced action filled with blood, sweat, and tears. Hackneyed Yakuza hypocrisy with Steven Segal style martial arts. They killed off the neighbor (Dawn Olivieri, best actor in the film) when there was more than enough gravitas already. This film belongs firmly in the 1980's. John Wick does it better and with far more style.

Terrible story. Terrible acting. Terrible sound effects that haven't been cool since 1980 (there was even a very poorly placed wilhelm scream). The main character has the charisma of a plastic teaspoon. The fight sequences were unrealistic. The entire movie is a waste of time. Time that I'll never get back. Time that I recommend you use to watch a different movie.

Darc is a straightforward revenge film, which very heavily reminded me of the Punisher MAX line of comics (For reference think Jon Bernthal, ironic since I found it on Netflix) with all the nudity, violence and foreign mobsters at the forefront. I didn't expect much from the movie but I was pleasantly suprised. Though the action can be a little quick cut and unreadable in some scenes, in my opinion, the film makes up for it with rather visceral sound effects. As I said the main character gives me a strong Frank Castle vibe so if ruthless anti-heroes are your thing and you are forgiving of certain mistakes common in western action movies, it's a solid movie I can only recommend.
