I respect that Kevin had a heart attack and wanted to tell his story. But, clerks wasn't the place to do it. The clerks franchise was ruined by this wholly depressing movie without a single laugh in the whole thing. He should have made a stand alone movie to tell this awful story instead of ruining one of the best comedy series ever made. This was so bad I don't think I'll ever watch the first two again. This movie has nothing original to say except death. Any attempt to be funny was made from call backs and memories from the first two movies. Honestly at this point Kevin Smith should give up the movie business.

That is the best way to describe this film. I was very surprised when I saw It was playing in my theater and needless to say I went and saw the very next showing. The movie is amazing and a love letter is exactly what it is. A love letter to the fans, A love letter to Mr. Smith's life, experiences, A love letter to his characters, And a Love letter to life all around. Watching this movie I realized that I grew up with these characters. Made me realize my own age lol because I'm alot like Randal. That's one of the reasons clerks 2 was so special to me. Screw you and your 36 I'll grow up when I'm good and ready. I did not expect the amount of emotions this film drew out Of me. If You're a fan of the view askewniverse, Kevin Smith, Jay, Randall and Don T then check out this one. You will not regret it. Also, if you see it in the theaters stay till the end of the credits.

This is a film in three parts. The first reacquaints us with Quick Stop crowd and is quite funny although depressing that these guys haven't moved on at all in the last thirty years. The second is a boring mid section that drags on while the two main characters make/ or remake the first Clerks movie. The third is a well made emotional journey that, hopefully, says goodbye to the franchise forever. Considering the awful Silent Bob and Jay movie as well, this whole set of characters are totally played out. Finished. Over-cooked. I hope that Kevin Smith now moves to something a little more original.

Seeing people give this movie a 10 is outrageous! This is a poorly written, poorly acted (mostly) and poorly directed. Kevin Smith's, time is up! Why is referencing Star Wars funny? Why is blasphemy funny? Why does Ben Affleck keep popping up in these movies? I get that this is loosely based on Kevin Smith, heart attack, and what he went through. If you actually like this movie, you're trapped in the 90s, which was a good time. But it's over now, it's just immature, joke after immature joke followed by a Star Wars reference. At least this will be the last and final one. I don't know why I finished it.

This hit the spot after seeing Barbarian which was great too just bonkers of intensity! Anyways Clerks 3 starts with Dante opening the quick stop and Randall hanging out again with Elias a little bit in Randall has a heart attack, while at the hospital he realizes about directing a movie being a nerd that he is. So much greatness, charm, great cameos, smooth dialogue, and just pure entertainment! Perfect conclusion to the 28 year old trilogy that is heartwarming fun worthy of fathom event price tag. Less budget as a lot of films but all the feels of Kevin style. This made me appreciate Kevin Smith films even more I hope fans get to see this whenever possible.

No question, Kevin Smith has a loyal fan base, and I used to be apart of it, until it was clear his only goal in life was to milk Clerks until someone slaps him across the face and tells him to wake up. I have no idea why Ben Affleck keeps showing up, but at least Matt Damon had the good sense to say, my debt is paid. This was a story with no meat on the bones, my favorite part of the movie is smith admitting all the reason people don't like him anymore. Talking about his heart attack for the 500th time. Putting his no talent friends and family in his films, and making film so cheap and so stupid that only his most loyal fans would recommend it. I am going out on a limb and assume he has done the math and knows that if fans come out, he'll break even and with digital sales, a profit will be turned. I hope this is the last I hear, see or know about this franchise or these characters, there is nothing left to say or tell and the fact that 60 year old men tried to fool me into believing they weren't bald, middle aged or overweight was a clear sign of how delusional Mr. Smith is. His backwards baseball caps, jort wearing droopy eye paint a picture of a boy that needs to realize it's time to be a man and the fact that he won't take on a serious project just goes to show, he's a fictional director, literally. Bad movies and WB series is the true sign of an underachiever. Thank God for fans, charging $40+ to see this film on tour is the worst decision most of you made. I was able to see the film for free and still plan to look into a refund.

Kevin Smith used to be a really talented dude who made unique and funny movies. Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, Clerks II and Chasing Amy, just to mention some of his great early works. Movies filled to the brim with funny characters having funny conversations. Then suddenly he just started to lose it in a rapid pace. Because of this, i didn't have high hopes for Clerks III, but since Clerks was the jump off point for Smiths career, and presumably a series dear to his heart, i was hoping that he would treat this one with extra care and fill it with prime content and humor. But unfortunately i was wrong. If humanity posessed a literal funny bone, Kevin definitely lost his a long time ago, along with his talent and passion. The story was unimaginative and boring and i didn't even smile ones. Just like all of his movies the last 15 years, it feels like he's just churning out incomplete ideas and just crosses his fingers that something will be funny, instead of actually having a bunch of really good and funny ideas that he need to make into a movie.

First of all i was feeling really down the day i watched this, had a horrible day and fancied watching a comedy, something to make me laugh and cheer me up. When i found a "leaked" version of this movie online i was ecstatic! A new clerks movie I couldn't have asked for a better timed comedy to watch! I have never been so wrong about a movie in my life! Watching this made me feel so much worse! First of all this is more like a drama based in reality than the goofy comedy these movies used to be. I saw Rosario Dawson's name in the into credits and thought great can't wait to see what these characters have ben up to but within the first few minutes you found out she died off screen...not only that but later Dante visits her grave and has a conversation with her before breaking down crying on her grave... I was gobsmacked, this is Clerks now?! The scene described above was depressing enough but that is far form the only depressing moment in this movie! Randal nearly dies at the beginning and has a bit too realistic of a heart attack and questions their mortality etc...really in a CLERKS MOVIE?!?!? I know Kevin Smith has worked some of his recent real life experiences into this but why not make a new movie about a guy who faces his own mortality? Don't take our beloved comedic characters and make them go through trauma! The acting and drama is really good but it's just surreal to see two comedy characters crying, being depressed, scared of dying etc and totally bums you out. I won't spoil anymore but those two moments are not the end of it all. By the time i finished watching this movie i felt ten times more down and depressed than before i started watching it! So in closing, if you fancy watching this for a good laugh and to cheer you up a a bit then don't as it will make you worried about your own mortality and possibly bring you into floods of depressed tears by the end of it, what a confusing mess!

I did not expect 'Clerks 3' to be one of the heaviest movies I watched in 2022. I love the 'Clerks' movies and consider the second one to be one of the all-time great comedies. It feels crazy to think that was 16 years ago. We finally got the third one and it was a very different experience to what I was expecting. I would describe this movie as a love letter to nostalgia. It isn't always subtle about it, but it is hilarious about it. If you know the back story behind 'Clerks' then you are going to get a lot more of the jokes and references this movie is making. I knew I'd laugh in this movie, however I didn't realise how upsetting it was going to be. I feel like Kevin Smith hit me with a sledge hammer - in the best (and worst) way possible. The opening sequence in this movie is amazing. So much so that I had to go back and watch it again after the film was finished. I don't think 'Clerks 3' will be as rewatchable as the first two (I'm not even sure I'll be able to work up the courage to watch it again) but it may just be that little bit more memorable. 9/10.
