I actually liked this film. But who the hell was in charge of the music? The constant banging of bongos throughout almost made me give up halfway through.
This film could've been so much better with the right tone of music to go alongside the well shot and aesthetically pleasing scenes. The plot was predictable but still had me wanting to see it play out.
I always like the combination of dark comedy and thriller genres, some of the best recent thrillers have an element of humour and Clawfoot has clearly taken inspiration from this
Lead actress was great and would love to see her in more.
But please, fire the bongo guy.

This is not so much a thriller (as it's advertised), but more a horror-"lite", a black comedy with as well a stylish setting as some surprising, very bloody gore. The narrative is rather simple, halfway into the movie it does have a major plot-twist, but from then on it rolls very one-dimensionally towards its uninventive ending, without the usual extra twists and turns that one would expect in such a story.
The main characters are two very elegant, high-fashioned and extremely unscrupulous ladies, and I guess the contrast between their posh looks and their almost joyfully executed violence is the main asset of this movie. It sure is fun to watch for a while, and it raises many chuckles, but in due course you feel a lack of some extra layers in the storyline, it's rather disappointing to see how several potentially interesting twists go to waist or get totally neglected (like the food delivery guy getting on to them, or the two prisoners escaping and taking the girls in turn captive, or whatever an inventive writer would have been able to come up with), now it sort of goes out with an amusing but still somwhat deflative puff after 83 minutes.
On the good side: Olivia Culpo and Francesca Eastwood do an absolutely great job and are a joy to watch!

If you can get on this movie's bizarre and other-worldly wavelength, I think Clawfoot has a lot to offer.
A movie split in two halves, where the first features a lot of set up. The second half paying it off quite well. The plot is good, but where the movie shines is in its directing, featuring a heightened reality, including unrealistic dialogue and conversations. But that is how this quaint and oddball reality is, and you just gotta go with it. It won't work for everyone, but it worked for me.
I highly recommend checking out Clawfoot, and I hope it finds an audience. Francesca Eastwood is excellent and seriously needs to be in more. She carries the movie, and the rest of the cast is also fantastic.
