This is miles away from the original Toxic Avenger (1984). This is really absurd and over the top full with gore and nudity as gratuitous as it can be, even full frontal. Even the face of Toxie looks different. Looks great isn't it, well, sadly it isn't. By doing things rather over the top and even dull it isn't an entry for every fan of Toxie. This is really and literally full of feces and p*ss and even fake *. And it's done by disabled people who are made fun of, it's done by adult penetrating girls and boys and Toxie. Even blow jobs are given by fat guys to normal guys and by * girls to doctors, yes this is really absurd. But clocking in over the usual 90 minutes it do becomes boring at times. It's worth seeing for some gory moments and I mean gore but it also did me pick up the remote to push the fast forward or even the eject button. Gore 3/5 Nudity 2/5 Effects 2/5 Story 0/5 Comedy 0/5

I can see how some people may not like this film due to the fact Troma Movies are an acquired taste. With that said, Citizen Toxie is one of the best independant films I have seen to date. It's a classic horror comedy with a superhero twist. Nudity, gore, and violence. Whats not to like? In my opinion, director Llyod Kaufman gave fans of the series what they had wanted for years. After Toxie II and III (which were suppose to be one movie but due to its length was made into two) this movie is a welcome return to what made the first Toxic Avenger an instant cult classic.

Citizen Toxie: Toxic Avenger 4, The (2000) * 1/2 (out of 4) Fourth film in The Toxic Avenger series is a major disappointment but it is a step up from the previous film. The Diaper Mafia are killing people off so it's up to Toxie and his sidekick Lardass to save the day but they get sent off to Oz where they encounter a bad Toxie. As usual, there's plenty of politically incorrect humor, which is sometimes funny and sometimes not. The spoof of the real life event of a black guy being dragged behind a car is really offensive even for Troma standards and why director Lloyd Kaufman would put this is in beyond me. There are some funny scenes but with a running time of 110 minutes the film just goes on way too long and wears its welcome out around the thirty minute mark. Hank the Drunken Angry Dwarf from the Howard Stern Show plays God.

Troma films must stop making Toxic Avenger movies! Let's face it, the concept has been beaten to the ground so much, that they have to resort to more ridiculous dialogue and more random shots of female breasts. Not only was this film utterly terrible, I payed money to watch this crapshoot in a theater. And then, I see this film is averaging a 6.5 on the poll!!! Modern civiliation is so damaged now, that garbage like this can be deemed genius. Please, no more Toxic Avenger movies!

This is the best Troma film I've seen, and I've seen mostly all of them. Love it or Hate it, you must see this movie. It works on so many disgusting levels- violence, sex, and just pure disgustingness... and some great cameos abound. Can't wait to see more of the Retard Rebel

...must...buy...this...movie *faints* --- citizen toxie made my heart swell up with joy and pride and almost made me forget my stomach's severe cries of indigestion... but thats what you get for sneaking in celery-flavored soda into a movie theatre, right? when the troma school for the very special is attacked by a creepy murderous infant-gang... toxie if off to save the day! somehow... dum da dum da... he is sucked into some crazy vortex-inter-dimensional land of amortville! tromaville's opposite! but how can toxie get back and make all right with the world?! and who is noxie?! you gotta watch it and find out... you wont be disappointed!! siiigh... theres just something about the toxic avenger that is just ultimately sexy and thrilling and rock-star glamorous. now go get yer paws on a copy!

The unrated version that is (the "R" version sucks really bad). This has to be one of Troma's most offensive, yet, most hilarious films ever. I crack up everytime I watch it. From Lardass (the funniest charactor in the whole movie, I wish he was in there more) to Kabukiman (both evil and "good" Kabukiman) to Tito the Retarded Rebel. Definitely not for the whole family. Only for those with a very sick sense of humor. But in the words of Evil Kabukiman, "I can't pass this up!" ACTION SAUSAGE NUNCHUCKS!!! DELI STYLE!!! 10/10

I tried to visualize what a story meeting for this would be like. "Let's think of everything you CANNOT put in a movie these days...and DO IT!" (applause and agreement) However extreme your humor tastes might be...this will STILL make you squirm. This makes TEAM America look like Davey and Goliath. If you have a total, annoying, political correctness extremist acquaintance, you can exact a satisfying revenge by screening this for him or her that might put an end to your relationship. And, be sure to read through the final credits. Perhaps the most creative laugh is contained therein (look for "famous movie lines"). Any film that casts Ron Jeremy as a religious town mayor must be worth a look. I hope Troma stays well. There's room for their brand of humor. Without extremes, we'd never know where the "middle" is.
