I get that it's trying to be funny and there are a few (very few) funny moments, but it's mostly rubbish. This could have been a good and funny movie (the idea is there) had they hired a better jokes writer or something. Justin Long's voice annoys me the entire time. Why did they decide that should be a thing and how did they let it go on for the entire movie?? I wouldn't tell people not to watch it. If you want a background movie to have on while playing your phone then this is perfect for that. I wouldn't watch it more than once, though. So pop it on, lay on the couch with your candy crush open and see how you go.

In short, this is a very strange movie. Gratuitous swearing and sex talk with incestuous overtones. Justin Long has a weird accent, weird way of delivering his lines and it feels so forced and unnatural. I cannot believe Vince Vaughn is one of the writers and has been involved in this car crash of a movie. Brittany Snow is awful too and again very awkward and unnatural. There is zero chemistry between Jesse and David and although it's inevitable they will come together, this doesn't happen till so far into the movie that it becomes unexpected. I had to give it 4 stars because I watched the whole thing. And there were some very funny albeit strange moments. The snowy scenery is lovely, as is the dog. If you have a little time to waste and want to watch something Christmassy then settle down and enjoy!

I'm not a romance movie kinda gal and these types of movies are always like torture.. but my mum wanted a Christmas movie n this came up so I put it on with dread.... absolutely loved it... laughed the whole way through. The reviews of 2/10 etc are clearly the same people that don't get satire and take life 2 seriously. Makes me understand how they almost cancelled Family Guy.. its not a family movie! Far to many crude interactions but so worth. Its a ,"what am I watching" kinda movie at 1st. As u expect the usual but its cute.. bizarre.. breath of fresh air for a romantic comedy 👌 bloody loved it!

I really really really wanted to like this movie cause I'm a fan of Brittany Snow and Justin Long but woowww it's very very bad. First of all idk why but Snow looked like she'd rather be anywhere than in that movie and Justin character is so not suited for him at all. The storyline is so weird too like who does that?? Accepting ur ex family invite to go to their town and celebrate the holidays with them? Even if u love Christmas that much and u dont know where else to go (umm maybe just ask ur friends to crash their Christmas?? Don't u have friends??) and even tho ur ticket isn't transferable and u don't have money etc etc but still again who does this? I stopped watching after 30 minutes cause I really hoped it would turned out good but ugh. I feel so bad for Snow and Long they deserve a better Christmas movie story. Would love to watch them in one with a good storyline.

Summary: A waste of everybody's time and money. Avoid it if you can (even if you love Brittany Snow). So many better options out there. (1) HORRIBLE Script Whoever wrote this (Vince Vaughn?) really should abandon this career; this a collection of bad ideas and awkward moments, many of them really borrowed from other movies (and modified to make it look original) and even worse dialogue - almost NON-STOP! (2) BAD Casting for the co-star Justin Long as a rugged man that loves the outdoor and for no reason goes through the whole movie trying to conjure a deeper voice (what? Why?). It is so bad, it keeps distracting you the whole way trough. He is so out of place, he couldn't even fake chemistry with the dog. I guarantee you he didn't audition for this; someone would have seen the tape and stopped this train-wreck before it got to production. (3) A STORY that walks on a treadmill and slowly goes nowhere. It really leaves you thinking why the hell did I sit here for almost 90 minutes? Did I really think this would get better at any point? The answer is clearly NO.
