Some good, some not so good, The good: acting, plot, sets, medical sci-fi aspects. The not-so-good: over stylized lighting, confusing plot. Still it was better than the avarage crappy indie movie that comes out of sundance or cannes.

It had an interesting idea and base plot, but was pooly made. We can see they didn't had a large budget. Sadly, it was an waste of time. Don't recommend.

Hopefully one of those 3 words grabs your attention when looking for a movie to watch. In the case of Chimera, viewers will encounter all three.
Can the human race can evolve beyond its current physical and mental limitations by utilizing, or... manipulating, science and technology? Is this a domain where mankind should be dabbling even if it's for a noble cause? What are the rules that should be followed and who should be making them when it comes to "playing God" in the name of science?
Chimera is a film that plunges the viewer into this realm. A passionate, obsessed, geneticist in an authentic state-of-the art lab is a mission - use his knowledge to create new science to save his children. It had been suggested that this film puts "science" back into "Science Fiction" and that thought is right on target when it comes to this film. Added to that concept is a twisted story revealed by a cast that becomes their characters. The lead is Henry Ian Cusick (that many will recognize from The 100 or perhaps Lost) and viewers will feel his anguish, question his methods, and wonder how far he will go to achieve his vision. It is definitely a film of intriguing characters enmeshed in controversial storyline.
I had the opportunity to watch this film at film festival in New York City at a small theater. It was an interesting location for an Indie film of this nature but I look forward to the day when I can watch the film again at home on a big television screen.

Chimera Strain: A great indie film, made (probably) on a miniscule budget. Chimera Strain is a gem of a sci-fi movie and will remind you of the great high concept films of the past such as Mike Nicholl's Gattaca and David Cronenberg's The Fly. For lovers of science fiction this is one of 2019's finest offerings.

If you do not want to think when you watch a film, then Captain Marvel is for you. If you are interested in more than the same old stuff, watch this.

I saw this film at it's US premiere at Boston International Film Festival where it won Best Picture and I can see why! This was such a thrilling and thought provoking film! I found myself thinking of it for several days afterward. Would I want to live forever? At times it was easy to sympathize with Quint and his motives certainly....but at other times I found myself wanting to yell... "Quint what the hell are you doing?!" Henry Ian Cusick's performance was exceptional and most likely the reason I couldn't shake Quint from my mind for some time! Kathleen Quinlan too gave such a fantastic performance and the rest of the cast provided characters too whom you either cheered for or despised! Such great direction....still can't believe this was Maurice Haeems' first film, you'd never know it! All in all Chimera was a thrill ride....and more than what I anticipated or expected, I love films that do that. If you get the chance to see Chimera, take it! You won't be sorry!

This film is a peek into the near future. The cinematography is beautiful and complements the bleak and gritty yet quirky tone of the overall story. The film is bolstered by fantastic performances from its leads, Henry Ian Cusick and Kathleen Quinlan. Chimera is an example of what science fiction should be - deep, thought-provoking, and exciting at the same time. The film manages to ask lots of questions and provide few answers while still delivering a satisfying conclusion. Chimera is truly imaginative and I look forward to future efforts from this writer & director.

This is am incredible movie!! So many things to think about - would you cross a line? where is that line? what is too much? what is at stake? when is it enough? All of life's big conundrums packed tightly in this movie.
Watch it - you will not be disappointed!
