Chernobyl Diaries

I am a huge fan of the Paranormal movies,the last one was the weakest but still enjoyable, and horror movies in general. Chernobyl was not even in the same league with any of the paranormal movies, for a suspense/horror movie it was juvenile and predictable. By now everyone knows the gist of the movie from the other reviews so I am not going to bore you with retelling. Suffice it to say, the story was weak to nonexistent, the characters were shallow and unbelievable and you know nothing about the monsters to include not even getting to see them. If I was forced to say one good thing about the movie I would admit that the concept is really good and the Chernobyl accident is the perfect backdrop for a great horror story, I really wish they would have pulled it off. I am really glad I went to the matinée and only paid 5 bucks to get in. They should have paid me 5 bucks to sit through it.

Where I can begin? I was looking forward to see the movie, because i'm very interested in the Chernobyl tragedy. But what a piece of sh*t movie. VERY BAD actors, bad story, It wasn't even filmed on Pripyat. Very predictable story and so bad acting that it hurts!!. Boring movie nothing about it is scary at all. You just sit there and wait for something to happen and when something happens is like OH was that it?! And the way the mutants look that's a joke, a mask used for Halloween could have been better. I really needed some scary music along the whole movie, as there usually is in horror movies. 1/10 from here don't waste your money

Many think this movie is similar to Paranormal activity and get a wrong idea that this movie will be a ghost flick and stuff.But Chernobyl Diaries is completely different from other horror movies.If you expect "biting your nails" scene,then this movie has got a lot of it.The director Bradley Parker has taken the movie so good that it doesn't makes us move from our seats.I have clearly said that if you expect a movie with great thrill scenes, then this movie is full of it.But what you expect at the end when you watch this movie will not be satisfied because the movie turns out to be conspiracy one.But i wont say its bad ending, its good but i expected a lot when i watched the beginning parts.So, if you want a movie to frighten you without any ghost and stuff,then this has got it.

I was actually looking forward to this film. I liked the idea of the extreme tourist visiting a post-nuclear town. Unfortunately this film failed in ALL aspects. The setting should be fantastically creepy and sinister. In fact, I am still wondering how any director could make this setting look bland and boring. It must be a skill. The characterisation is also sadly lacking. The relationships lack development and the characters are as bland as the setting. This is obviously a problem in a horror film when you actually don't care who lives and who dies. The horror aspect is also lacking. The 'creatures' are not seen enough to be scary but seen too much to be terrifying. And the plot... oh dear...

A promising start that never really amounted to much. The characters were annoying, the plot had no substance, and the only action happened too late to save the movie. This takes way to long to get up and going, then the people just start aimlessly running around, then it the last 20 minutes the actual movie happens and it's seriously underwhelming.

Having watched this film twice it was better that the rest of them in the way it portrayed the Chernobyl disaster and the end i didn't get why she was chucked into that room if you know why please feel free to reply. It was great when the bear jumped out of nowhere and ran. it was great in the way of the effects of irradiation from Reactor four but the way that they got killed was a bit fuzzy one of them gets taken by the people that seem a bit creepy but you find her a bit later and then ten minutes later she's gone with out you even realising it would have been nice to find out why she vanished but on the other hand it was brilliant in every Aspect.

Chernobyl Diaries is about an extreme tour in the ghost town of Chernobyl/Pripyat (where the nuclear disaster happened) gone wrong. I have mixed feelings about this. It's got some good jump scares, and the plot itself isn't too terrible. I liked seeing Jesse McCartney in a setting like this since it's different from all the Disney and teen stuff he did. The characters aren't very deep and don't go through much development, but any of that wouldn't have been relevant.. The pace was steady and straightforward. I went and saw it a couple years ago when it came out, and with the mind set of a twelve- year-old I enjoyed it. I like it enough now. It's a good movie if you're looking for something spooky that you would probably never think about again regularly. It's nothing particularly memorable, but pretty good otherwise.

At the begining i was a little suspicious about the movie and i didn't know what to expect. But as the Night came and they were stuck in this Wan the real Horror begins and is not a Hollywood Horror, it was realy frightening... And at the end there was no good ending like in most Hollywood Movies... The Movie suprised me and it is a totaly underrated Horror in compare to other owerrated Horrors... It would deserve at least 7.4 Note..., my Rate was 9 becouse it is a low budged wery scary Movie filmed in the City of Pripjat...
