This movie follows the quest of an average guy looking for love. Of course he has a player friend, is in some friendzone dynamic, has a problem having sex with hot women since he wants commitment more than anything. Yeah, he might as well be a girl, except he has that average guy face and romantic attitude for the female audience. It's like a network sitcom, an even dumber version of How I Met Your Mother. The movie is fine in terms of acting and production, and is acceptable for mindless light entertainment, but there was no reason for it to be made. There is no reason for this review either, but the absurd 10/10 reviews needed to be questioned

Yes, this movie is predictable and cliché. We all know what's going to happen by the end of the movie so we tend to disregard films like this. However, Cavemen was funny, sweet, easy and realistic. You had your typical boy-next-door looking for love, the player, the boy who was already in relationship but was being influenced to be single and the guy who was in love but not ready to commit. Camilla Belle plays a likable female character, which is refreshing to see since most in romantic comedies are dumb or too uninterested in romance. Is it the best film ever? No, but it's a good one to watch when you have the time.

Cavemen. A man sets his sights on just being in love. Tired of the one night stands so he wants to be someones forever. So I have been waiting a real long time to see this and there has only been one review until very recently. Now they are coming in more is broadening the rating. Now its pretty low. Which sucks. So I watched the movie last night and I have to say I was disappointed. There is no real need in this movie to be made really. It could of been done so much better which brings me down as I had hopes for this. The way it is shot is strange as the director for some reason over uses the focus on characters all the time and at very stupid bits. The soundtrack I thought was very good. Just these days Hollywood seem to think that the use of indie music will provide the audience with a more style to their music when in all fairness its just Hollywood trying to up their views. All of the scenes didn't really make sense and it only started making complete sense more than half way through. The actors where all very good there's no shame there. Camille Belle is such a weird casting for this movie as I had no real connections toward here. Even though I did want the obvious to happen. Her and Dean (Skylar Austin) to get together. He was the only one that had me wanting them together. When watching this movie and going here. This is not the review that I wanted to do. This movie could of easily been done better and its such a shame that this let me down.

If I had to watch a super corny 'love conquers all' 'run after the taxi' movie there are some really rich ones in Bollywood collections. They also will have some enjoyable dances, song and music during which you could go out for a break. This movie has been made for a very select demographic.I don't know if its high school girls or 'looking for love' adolescents or somebody else. But chances are if you are not a part of that demographic you would end up with a serious head ache. Acting is average throughout. Many of us will go to this movie for Camilla Belle. She is not disappointing.I am not a technical expert in movies but I didn't feel any glitch in direction anywhere.Just that this movie was definitely not for me.

There's romance films like The Notebook, P.S. I Love You etc. but then you have films that don't try to be serious in that way, which are generally called romcoms. You see these romcoms have a set of typical conventions, and Cavemen being a romcom, ticks all of the boxes need to fulfill it's duty as a fully fledged romcom. We see four 'playboys' living in one open apartment. Skylar Astin, who portrays the main character of the four is a playwrite/screen writer. He is trying to write a script about love, but cannot, as he has not experienced it yet. He tries to break away from his other friends and find love in the City. His best friend (who is a, you guessed it, a woman) spends a lot of time with him, and they are great together *cough cough*, you can guess what happens here. The movie is chirpy, slightly suspenseful, feel-good and the acting is pretty solid. For anyone who is feeling lonely, watch this film, it'll make you feel better about yourself and feel motivated, a powerful technique which films posses, much like this one. Some of it is a bit too cliché, but if you're expecting that, then it's fine. Kudos.

Nice predictable romantic comedy with a decent cast well made, and full of warmth. This really is a sweet little movie, just 4 guys living , and partying together in a chance of a lifetime loft apartment. Nice how it all ties up so neatly in the end even if it is predictable. There is a lot of real "E" energy that you really get a feeling of between some of these characters that translates really well. I Enjoyed the fact that it is not real, really he named the girl his muse before he met her, it's all just a story. However it is a nice one so I recommend it to fans of the romantic, and the truth when it is right in your face. Relationships suck, but it is always fun to see two people who actually fit together.

'CAVEMEN': Two and a Half Stars (Out of Five) Sex comedy flick about a group of mostly unemployed bachelors, living happily together in an LA warehouse, when one decides he wants to give up his sex filled carefree life in order to pursue love. It was written and directed by first time filmmaker Herschel Faber and stars Skylar Astin, Camilla Belle, Chad Michael Murray, Alexis Knapp, Dayo Okeniyi and Kenny Wormald. The cast is full of a lot of recognizable faces, with little name value though; Astin costarred in 'PITCH PERFECT' and '21 & OVER', Murray had major roles on the TV show 'ONE TREE HILL' and in the horror remake 'HOUSE OF WAX', Belle has appeared in indie movies like 'THE BALLAD OF JACK AND ROSE' and big budget bombs like '10,000 BC' and 'PUSH', Okeniyi was in 'THE HUNGER GAMES' and 'THE SPECTACULAR NOW', Wormald starred in the 'FOOTLOOSE' remake and Knapp also appeared in 'PITCH PERFECT' as well as 'PROJECT X'. There's definitely a lot of up-and-coming young actors (with pretty faces) but the movie still goes nowhere. Astin stars as Dean, a bartender who's struggling to become a film writer. He lives in a warehouse, turned into a bachelor pad, with his jobless buddies: Jay (Murray), Andre (Okeniyi) and Pete (Wormald). Pete is the only one of the group with a girlfriend, Beth (Amanda Jane Cooper), but they're constantly breaking up. Dean is trying to write a screenplay about love so he's recently became fascinated with the idea of it (for himself). He constantly asks advice from his best friend, and coworker, Tess (Belle); who he also has feeling for. His idea of looking for love of course does not go over well with any of his guy friends. For a low budget sex comedy film, that I had never heard of before, I was surprised by it's production values. The directing isn't bad and it has a pretty good soundtrack (there's also a couple nice tit shots as well). The acting isn't bad either and most of the cast makes likable characters (at least somewhat). There's just not much to the story, or the film. It feels like something you've seen dozens of times before and you'll never remember anything about it (once you've seen a few more movies just like it). With that said some of the film is funny, thanks largely to Astin (and some of the other actors), and it's definitely not a cringeworthy or painful film going experience. You might have a good enough time, for the 87 minutes it takes to watch it, but don't expect anything more than that. Watch our movie review show 'MOVIE TALK' at: youtu.be/3AK4roDokJo

After seeing the trailer, I was expecting something amazing. I have to say I was a little disappointed. But overall, it was a pretty good movie. It did have its funny parts, especially since it was navigating the whole looking for love and having a girl best friend who you might have feelings for idea and the whole bromance thing was going on. The acting was pretty good and yes it was predictable and we have seen this idea before but come on, its a romcom. I was however expecting Camilla Belle, the actor that plays Tess, the main protagonist's best friend to have more screen time. There was some time spent with unnecessary things, like when the main character, Dean (Skylar Astin), spent time talking to a voice from the speakers on the train, that wasn't really there. I didn't really find it funny, more just unnecessary. It was a good movie, just some bits could have been built on better. I also didn't see the point in that girl that Dean had sex with and we didn't really know much about at all. But anyway it was fun watching Dean find himself and all the other bromance characters as they worked through what they had going on. And in the end, I was satisfied with spending an hour and a half watching Cavemen, not completely extremely in love with it, but satisfied.

Let's list the things we know. Things for which we have empirical evidence. 1. Your romantic comedy or your bromantic comedy will not succeed if Skyler Astin is your main male love interest. ( See 21 & Over, and Pitch Perfect( I didn't like it as much as everyone else)) 2. Being able to stand in front of a camera and look good doesn't make for good acting. (Chad Michael Murray). I will say that Camilla Belle does give it the "ol' college try" ( she is stunning). 3. If you're going to do a plot that's been done a hundred times, (especially recently with the rise of the Bromantic Comedy in film) you have to at least try something different that will capture the attention of the movie goer! 4. Only in the movies can an average looking guy working in a dive bar bang hot chicks enough to grow weary of it. (Where do they come up with these characters?) This plot has been done enough for the whole thing to have become one big cliché'. Its' actors and actresses do not entice you to invest in their characters. The plot points are cheesy and predictable. And you are not given any reason to believe in the love of the two principle characters. At one point near the end of the movie, Jason Patric ( really, what is he doing in this movie? He was in Speed 2 for God's sake!) Throws a script at the main character Dean (Skylar Astin) and ask him to show him where the to leads fall in love.... He can't do it. How fitting it is that that script turns out to be this movie in some lame attempt to be Meta. I have to go because every minute I write about this movie, my rating drops. See it if you dare.... you'll hate yourself in the morning though.

Fine movie, standard fare, nothing out of the ordinary, story & plot has been done time & time again. Chad Michael Murray is the name in the film & he's good in the role that he has but he would've been better suited as the lead. The fellah who plays the lead just doesn't cut the mustard. It wouldn't be shocking to see this film on the Lifetime Channel. With a few cuts, it could probably make Hallmark. It's better than some of the movies I've been seeing lately. "5" for average & middle of the road.
