I didn't find the humor funny, the jokes are too slow. RuPaul doesn't even get that many funny lines! For the drama part, it's just sad. Conversion therapy just makes me depressed. Maybe this film will be cathartic for someone, but I was deeply uncomfortable and sad throughout it.

This movie was a big surprise for me, got from it more then i could ever expect. Since I don't have much to talk about it (I did rate it 9/10), I will only add a brief sum up. This movie is a great satire and a wonderful slap in the face to all of conservative folks out there and not at all insulting for the homosexual population. It's funny, the premise is very interesting, the characters are great, and acting is quite good. I especially loved Cathy Moriarty. The movie could have been a bit more colorful, but the visuals are still fitting the premise. One beautiful,underrated movie you just have to watch. 9/10

Natasha Lyonne's character plays the all american teen girl. Cheerleader, boyfriend is the quarterback. But she is sent to a rehab because her friends and relatives believe she is gay. Once at the rehab this movie really takes off. Cathy Moriarty is great in this film, and "Bull" from "Night Court" has a cameo as a gay man who used to be in the rehab. The other residents (especially the guys) are hilarious. This movie is very smart and really takes a shot at intolerance. It also brings to light some of the barriers society puts in front of those in the gay community. I love satirical films and this is a good one.

This film has great production values and a wonderful cast. But the most compelling aspect of the film is its soundtrack, one of the best I have heard in years. I hope it gets released. as it has fantastic music by April March, Pat Irwin, Sissy Bar, RuPaul, Saint Etienne, and much more.

I had really high hopes for this film. It has an excellent cast, including RuPaul and Mink Stole (of John Waters fame), but unfortunately, the humour falls flat. It never produced more than a chuckle from me and my partner. Frankly, it needed John Waters' direction. The comedy attempts to emulate Waters' style, but never quite makes its mark. The relationship between the two leading characters is handled well, but for a better film on this topic, I recommend "The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls In Love" much higher than this tepid comedy.

I guess the bright side is that the heavy-handed moralizing here is in favor of individuality, and against sexual repression. While the set design was outlandish, the humor was anything but. It felt like a stretched sketch, with mercifully only five steps instead of the hackneyed twelve. Satire? Prejudicial cliches are not cleverly skewered, but instead trotted out like aged comedians at a celebrity roast, expecting a laugh for just being able to find the microphone. Does the DVD come with an optional laugh track? Maybe use the previews as a litmus test, if they get you hooting and/or hollering, go ahead and see the film. Otherwise, do like the heroine here, trust your instincts and move on. I did dig the rockin' little indie soundtrack...especially the opening number, "Chick Habit."
