If this movie could be summed up in one word it's "potential". Ironicly that's also one of the more overused words in the movie. Fat has the speed and acting talent to keep this from totally sinking but that's not saying much. And Williams-Scott looks so lost in all of this. They are both talented enough that they it could have worked. The problem: incompetent directing and writing. Nazi's & cliche's abound, save your money for next weeks movies.

Well, I have been a fan of Chow Yun-Fat for about eight years now and I was impressed with this film. NO. It was NOT a MATRIX rip off movie. There is a nice homage to the classic John Woo film "The Killer". It is a film to not be taken too seriously at all. You can see that Chow was having alot of fun. Worth seeing if you want spend an evening with friends and want to see Chow in a role that is a little different. Hey you could do alot worse...has anyone heard of the box office classic (yeah right) "The Medallion" with Jackie Chan?

Save your money on this one. This movie is almost unwatchable. Best part is the car ride home. Avoid it like SARS. Seriously. Horrible dialogue, bad action, ridiculous cut-away fight scenes. More like Jackie Mason then Jackie Chan.

I saw this movie it first came out and continue to enjoy watching it. There is a good mixture of action and humor. Always a joy to watch!

This is the failed attempt to launch Seann William Scott as an action hero, and the only thing worth watching is Jaime King. Everything else is not "bulletproof" but just "bulls**t"

Came into the theater with realistic expectations for the movie and wasn't disappointed in that regard... I found it enjoyable to watch as did most of the others in the same theater. Despite it being a little cartoonish in characters and plot (well due to its origin) there are quite a few humorous parts, including a subtle one where kar puts in effort to get past an obstacle while the monk simply goes around it, in a common-sensical kind of way. As for the visual effects, the wirework and CG pretty decent, improving towards the end, tho the cutting was a little too rapid (not as annoying as 'cradle2' was however). Fight scenes were alright... some cliched moves but also some decent integration w/ the wirework... not classic like fist of legend, not heavy-fisted as blade 2, not as technically over-the-top as the matrix/reloaded, but somewhere in between.

Based on a underground comic book, Bulletproof Monk is not only one of the worst movies ever made, it's also one of the worst comic book adaptations in years. I'm not going to even go into detail how awesomely bad this film is, I'm just gonna point out the many things that it fails at: Character development, incoherent plot, no thought or ideas put into it's completely vague and banal script, very poor and uninspiring marital art choreography, horrendous acting, and pretty much everything else that makes films of this type. And I can never understand why they even bother to make this film in the first place if the end product doesn't deliver. So in all aspects, Bulletproof Monk is one of the worst comic book adaptations made. Watch it on a rainy day if you want but if the weather is nice, then you're better off doing something else in your spare time.
Not worth it.

Mix up a cheesy 80s film, complete with a crappy kung-fu movie, and throw in your typical 90s mediocrity and you have the future of cinema. Lifeless, and often times plotless, this film encompassed so many bad cliches and editing techniques, one has to wonder whether this is some elaborate student film or a home movie. I thought I was watching Kung Pow!, only this film took itself seriously. They tried imitating The Matrix (as many have tried), and once again proved nothing is better than the pure, fattening taste of the original, not the healthy knock-off. Chow-Yun Fat has always been an interesting actor to watch, but his somewhat bored experiment of enlightenment proved to be fruitless. I should have known when I saw Seann William Scott in the credits, but NOOOO, I had to go against my gut. Do yourself a favor, avoid this movie or watch it at the cheap theaters. Other than that, just wait for The Matrix Reloaded like the rest of us.

Not a bad film, but I wonder how I would feel about it, if I didn't have Seann William Scott to focus on?
I must admit that I was expecting a more traditional "Master/Student" type film exploring Stiffler's training to take over from Chow and ultimately defeat all evil in the end, but this kind of worked too.
I actually do really like the concept, but it seemed like this was building up to start a series of films with Stiffler in the lead, but it didn't have enough interest for me personally to make me want to follow its path.
The funky guy at the beginning has a terrible accent and I'm not sure the character of Jade was necessary, but I wouldn't rush to turn the film off if it came on again in 10 years time?
