Now im starting to think Joe Rogan secretly wants Brendan to fail, after humiliating him on the JRE by telling him to quit fighting cause he sucked (what Joe said was actually worse) he then goes on to encourage this trash of a "comedy special"? I also see this as Bryan Callens way of getting back at Brandon for trying to humiliate him countless times on the podcast, quite frankly these are the only two reasons this comedy special was made. I consider myself a Brendan fan but this was plain, sloppy, unfunny and bad! After watching this I can't ever see Brendan as a comedian, he is more like an open mic "comedian". If brendan ever sees this I know his ego will not let him take this as constructive criticism and will say that all the negative reviews are haters, but in reality im rooting for you buddy! Im just being honest.

While we all know he is a D level MMA fighter, this man has managed to ruin his podcast due to his ridiculous ego. Special isn't funny either. The picture of him in front of a massive "Schaub" sign when he's done nothing as a comic reinforces the ego problem and makes me wanna puke.

Well it seems insulting and making fun of Bryan doesn't mean you're actually funny. I guess Joe Rogan couldn't save him from this embarrasment.

What the hell did I just watch? Is there a part 2 that will some day be released that will include the punchlines to these horrible setups? Simply saying "WHAT THE F*%#!?" after bringing up a topic, is not a punchline. Now I know what Schaub's supporters and fans (and by that I mean his immediately family because those are his only fans) will say. "He's only been doing standup for 3 years." To which my response is "Exactly." He doesn't belong on Showtime and it painfully shows for over an hour on this "Special". He did not earn this special anymore than CM Punk earned his way into the UFC. He was gifted all of this by his friend Joe Rogan as an attempt to save his life. Schaub was headed towards being brain dead before his 35th birthday because he was delusional about his talent and potential as a fighter. Sadly, he was 10x the fighter as he is or will ever be a standup comedian. Just like CM Punk does not have the natural raw talent to ever compete at the UFC level, no matter how long he trains, Schaub doesn't have the natural talent or sense of humor to ever be a successful standup comedian. And you know what? That would be ok, if Schaub actually knew that. People will usually root for someone who's humble and who is trying their hardest, even when they have no business being in the industry that they are attempting to be part of. What they won't tolerate is someone who steals other comedians jokes, and mannerisms, as Schaub does repeatedly, who isn't funny at all, but at the same time truly believes himself to be the second coming of Richard Pryor. Just like Schaub thought he was the best heavyweight fighter in the world after his first couple of victories on the local circuit, even saying so repeatedly on TUF season 10, he also believes because he "works so hard" at comedy that he belongs on a Showtime special. It's well beyond time someone who cares about Schaub sit him down for another Rogan-like "come to Jesus" talk and convince him to either switch industries, or smoke an entire truckload or DMT to help get rid of the massive ego he's been carrying around his entire life.

Not suprised as to how horrible and unfunny this actually is, zero punch lines, having a mild panic attack half way through, and failing to culminate his own comedic personality which has resulted in imitating better comedians such as Callen or D'elia to absolutely no effect of a laugh. Brendan needs to re-evaluate where he is and maybe reconsider the way in which he is approaching comedy, because following this dire path of derelict comedy will just push him further into a void of being one of those "comedians" whom have never made it. Would not watch past 10 minutes, my homeless cats.

Joe needs to have another talk with his boy. I would literally rather get choked out by a chimpanzee inside of a sensory deprivation tank while on dmt than watch this show. I mean at least I would be unconscious and not suffering through this massive cringe fest.

Schaub does not have the brains, the wit, or the experience necessary to be funny for a full set, but you'd think even an amateur might bumble into a laugh line or two. Not Brendan. This is stunningly bad. Schaub's dudebro approach to "comedy" mostly involves yelling into the mic to let you know How Hugely Crazy And Funny This Story I'm Telling You Is!!!! Like, whoa! I mean, unbelievable! He's like an annoying guy at the bar who's had too much drink and now believes he's charming and charismatic.

And I gotta say it was a terrible experience. I could feel the cringe in my body and it was pretty uncomfortable. Every joke or short story that he told was making my stomach turn. It all felt so forced and inorganic. It would probably be more entertaining to watch a recording of my facial expressions than the actual special itself.

Special has about 2-4 laughs in it. It has been reviewed negatively on this site and I got an email from some weed company he owns part of, offering 50% off its products in return for good reviews. I wasn't going to review it until I saw this underhanded behaviour, everyone should know. If you're researching to see if this special is worth watching, then don't bother, it's no good and even the terrible score is inflated. Thanks.
