This movie is a modern thriller, a thriller's evolution. Just as in Guzikowsky's 'Prisoners', characters' actions are driven by their psychology, which is described in a most accurate and believable way. And as in 'Limitless' we are enchanted by a young man who sums intellectual and physical qualities as if he were a better product of evolution than the basic human being. Noticeably the present movie has been released earlier than the two above mentioned titles (Prisoners has been released in 2013 and Limitless in 2011): Alan Glynn's novel (on which 'Limitless' was based) was published in 2001 but it was markedly different from movie's screenplay. 'Boy Wonder' is interesting and very well shot (it was the first movie from Michael Morrissey, who wrote and directed it). Zulay Henao is not only very pretty but very good too and steals every scene she is in.

I really liked this movie. I actually didn't think Hollywood made movies this good any more but was pleasantly surprised. It pulls on your sense of morality and makes you ask questions about what is justified when a system of justice fails. It had me engaged from beginning to end. To me, the script was well- written. The pacing was perfect. It was well cast and well-acted. If people were looking to compare it to something, I think Dexter would be a natural comparison, but it had a totally different vibe and, honestly, the characters seemed much more real and compelling compared to the characters in Dexter. I'll save my highest praise for last (and this is very high praise for me) - I would have paid to see it in the theater.

This is a good movie with a solid plot but I can't help but feel that it could have been so much more. I looked to see how far through the movie I was and was surprised that it was almost over when it really hadn't built up any climax for the ending. It's a cool, gritty movie and certainly worth the watch but there wasn't much of a progressive story and the timing seemed a little undesirable. The acting was pretty good, the action scenes were exciting but didn't last long. I'm disappointed that there was really no 'boss fight', I feel that the last 20-30 minutes could have been really thrilling if the ending was written better. Although if you treat this as a drama rather than a crime thriller the actual end scenes were pretty cool and clever. Overall I'd give this movie a 7 out of 10, it's above average but not exactly on the end of your seat thrilling or something you'd want to watch over and over again.

I've been a fan of movie festivals for quite some time now. I try to go to them if they are in my area or within driving distance. This year I happened to be visiting family in Rhode Island and thought I'd stop in on the Rhode Island International Film Festival. I was somewhat put off by some of the things i saw but I did see "Boy Wonder" and was pretty impressed. The characters were engaging and it seemed to speak to me in a very real way. I especially liked the relationship between the son and his father, it was a realistic and relatable struggle. Even if you aren't into deep characters and thinking; this movie is entertaining enough when you just see the fight scenes and the comedic timing of the two detectives. Well worth the trip-you get a salute from me Rhode Island for putting this one in your festival.

I must admit: I'm a huge fan of thrillers…the only problem is I'm often disappointed by the weak story plots and cliché endings that plague most of the new suspense films that are being dished out by Hollywood fools lately. That being said, I didn't expect much when I went to see Boy Wonder at the Thrill Spy Fest in D.C. Michael Morrissey's Boy Wonder sets itself apart from the senseless crap out there today. It keeps you guessing the whole way through, and just when you think you figured out the ending, you're proved wrong. The film is a classic man vs. man revenge plot, with enough twists and turns to keep you interested. For an indie film, I was pretty surprised by the writing and acting. This director is definitely going places. The lead guy who played Caleb was awesome too. He definitely has that troubled method actor type quality to him. Expect to see him around in the future. Not sure whether or not this is going straight to DVD or if it will stay in the festival circuit for awhile, but if you have the opportunity to see Boy Wonder, you won't be disappointed.

I have no idea why this film has a 6.4 out of 10. It is truly great. If you enjoy revenge films then this is perfect for you. The acting is very good and the editing was fantastic and clearly done very carefully. I don't like telling people too much when i recommend a film as this dents the experience but rest assured you won't know what direction this film will take you. That is the great thing about it. Also i kind of felt like I was reading a superhero comic. And it does reference batman at times. So for fans, look out for that! Just sit back and let it pull you in. Go see it!

I went to screening of Boy Wonder and was expecting nothing good. I was really surprised, this film is shot beautifully and they got some great performances, the kid playing Sean, Caleb something, was great. This movie is a puzzle and the way the story is told keeps you thinking all the way through. THE ENDING IS AWESOME!!!! This is not really an action movie but there are some great fight scenes. The fights are really quick and brutal and realistic in my opinion. I was approached to screen the film because I work in a comic book store and the director is into comic books. The movie does have a graphic novel feel to it. Like old school Frank Miller/ Klaus Jansen Daredevil. Not a hokey superhero story but more dark avenger, flawed hero (really flawed). It's not about Dick Grayson by the way.

Who is Michael Morrissey? No clue. A director who just came out of nowhere and blew me away with this film. This movie is an absolute gem, hidden away like some back-studio secret. The film is dark, gritty, ethereal and purposeful.. At the risk of sounding redundant, it is much like the Dark Knight without money ;) But it's the little touches that really grab you. I think many with short attention spans will not fully commit, as those who watched 'Drive' can attest to. It is definitely a slow paced movie. Definitely. However it is worth waiting for each delicious morsel of death-defying, dark fight scenes. My only gripe? I WANTED MORE.
