We're all just trying to find our way in this world and every journey is unique. Eric Shaeffer's movie is a celebration of our differences while also acknowledging the challenges we face. It's a movie with characters and a story so compelling and accessible that I can only hope it gets the larger audience it deserves. Look for amazing performances from newcomer Michelle Hendley and Michael Welch. Welch is most notably from the "Twilight" franchise. If you watch it and like it, please find a way to tell others about this movie. The topic could not be more relevant in our society. I am so happy I stumbled upon this little gem.

Boy Meets Girl is a romantic comedy with a twist--the girl, Ricky, is trans-gender, and in the current age this creates complications. Ricky has had many boyfriends, but her best platonic friend, Robby, appears to be a strictly straight car mechanic. Robby is completely comfortable with her sexuality, and their frank talk is often hilarious. Enter Francesca, an attractive local débutant, and Robby sort of dares Ricky to try it with a girl. Francesca is engaged to a marine in Afghanistan and seems an unlikely candidate for such a romance, but a meeting in a coffee shop (Ricky is a barista) seems to trigger some chemistry, and the movie is off to the races. It soon develops into something more. Boy Meets Girl is a flat-out amazing movie. Director Eric Schaeffer is out to create a very genuine piece of art about love in the modern age, and he does just that. It is completely new--I just can't remember a trans-gender lead of this type before. And what a lead! Actress Michelle Hendley, who is trans-gender herself, unquestionably draws on her own experience, but on the other hand creates a character that is so sympathetic and true to life that we get really caught up in everything that happens to her. And because it is all new, it is wildly unpredictable and therefore completely engrossing. It should also be said that her performance is tremendously courageous, as she "outs" herself and her own situation in some very intimate and profound ways. It is an amazing performance. What you get is a movie that is novel, unpredictable and entertaining. The emotions run high also, especially if you have ever been the person who just didn't fit in.

I just watched this movie. This might be one of the most accurate representations of being trans that I have ever seen in a movie. It also prices that a trans-actress can play the part of a transwoman. Screw Hollywood casting men in the role of transwomen. Michelle Hendley is a wonderful actress and totally fits the Hollywood mold of a beautiful leading lady. This movie was so real that I'm lying here crying. After all the bullshit I've heard about the glamorous and privileged Caitlyn Jenner the past few days, this was a really nice respite of respect and reality. Very well done movie. If you are trans, know someone who is our just like a good romantic drama, you must watch this movie.

The movie was outstanding in its sensitivity regarding a group of people who are struggling to be accepted or even tolerated. I found it to be extremely accurate for some transgender women, as there is great diversity under the transgender umbrella. I'm so happy they didn't cast a man to play the part of Ricky, as Hollywood typically does in movies about trans women, but instead casted a lovely trans woman to play the role. Michelle Hendley does it brilliantly. All the actors play their parts brilliantly in fact. Michael Welch, Alexandra Turshen, Michael Galante, all played their roles, authentically, with charm, and humor. Eric Schaeffer seems to have insight into a subject that few non-trans people seem to understand. I think most people will enjoy this movie because the romance, and hardships and triumphs are universal. <3

Boy meets girl is a type of movie that you show to your friends and say "You got to watch this!". This is the one of the few independent films which has the potential to be nominated or even win an Academy Award. The story moves you to tears and joy at the same time. Michelle Hendley has done the elegant job of portraying a trans woman in the best way possible. Other lead actors especially Alexandra has given a mind bogging performance. Micheal Galante has done an awesome job of playing a marine and has represented exactly what a bigot person is like and how they too have shameful secrets. Eric the director is one of the most broad minded directors in history. No one can pull an amazing show like him. His films tend to focus on inclusive of all different colors of the rainbow not just black and white. Never miss this movie. There is a lesson in every scene. Overall a must watch for youth of the world.

I just want to say this film it truly beautiful and truly worth the watch..... The acting is brilliant by all of the cast but I have to say Michelle Hendley is outstanding.... I would definitely recommend this.... It shows you the struggles of life in a lot of different situations, it grasps the fact that people shouldn't judge and it reflects this perfectly and it such a lovely way that it would make you reach out for the Kleenex. I have watched films in the past that have had a good beginning and middle but have completely flaked at the end however this movie draws you in and does not disappoint with a perfect ending. If you are looking for a feel good film then this is it, I never really rated the guy when he was in twilight but I must say he excels himself in the lead role role in this movie.... Enjoy ;)
