I remembered the first time I've watched this movie several years back. I was too young to appreciate the depth and the moral of the movie. I've watched a quarter of it, decided its boring and I changed the channel..... Man, I wished I have kept on watching. It is such a tragic movie of how it is hard to outrun your past. And I love how the issue of child offenders had been explored in the movie, where they are usually disregarded anywhere in the world, where they will be acquitted for their crime, serve their time, and just got lost in the system. Its hard for them to make a comeback in the normal environment. This story had depth, real issues, and the grief of unspoken sadness portrayed by Andrew Garfield was just so heartfelt for me. Definitely a good drama to watch.

This film accurately portrays the realities of the subject admirably. The acting by the lead character is top notch and all the issues are played out. Unexpectedly a feel-good film in part as the joys of the main character take us along and allow us to be glad for the lives and freedoms we have. A good solid film with excellent characters. The sets and locations provide a noticeably stark background, devoid of warmth. The story provides just enough unresolved mysteries to keep us wondering. A well crafted film seamlessly executed. Most memorable quote: "I am not that boy anymore, I'm not that boy". This film shows us the true dynamics of this type of situation. Be prepared to be educated.

I thought it was a really good film, and the 2 boy actors wow i was almost disturbed by how good they were and i didn't know whether to feel sorry for 'Jack' or not because of the questions in the next few lines... I didn't like the ending because of how random it was for him to bump into the girl but what i was wondering was.. is he actually a child murderer? because he never actually hit the boy and you didn't actually see him do anything to the girl you just saw him walking into the tunnel.. so is he just an accomplice who feel guilty, an actual murderer in the fact he helped kill the girl or has he been wrongly convicted of murder? Oh and what happened with his mum?

A star is born, Andrew Garfield plays the leading role in this amazing film. He is one of the best Drama actors iv'e ever seen. This film tells us that there's always a second chance if we do something bad. It is incredibly moving and you might cry. I love drama films and this is PERFECT. ACTING: 99% You wouldn't know their acting STORY: 89% great but doesn't have lots to it SOUND/SCENERY: 78% it isn't a big action or film with lots of settings and explosives so i cant give it a really big score but when you do see the settings for the story they are good and they match the story so they are perfect for the film. TEAR JERFNESS:(!) 70% this isn't important but I write it for all drama films. You'll cry depending on what sort of person you are. OVERALL: 97% FAB FILM

A few days ago, i turned on my French TV and saw a documentary about the "Evil Children". I was simply terrified and i didn't know what to think about them. Then, i heard that one of the children killed himself, living Eric, his 'murder buddy', completely alone against the world. "Boy A" shows us what could have been Eric's life after jail. Andrew Garfield, casted as Eric, manages to be very emotional and improves some acting skills totally unbelievable. This movie, despite sticking up for public's opinion, makes us feel pity about Eric, and bring love and tragedy in our lives. The suggestion of Eric's suicide at the very end of the movie will certainly not be understood by everyone, but the dice are rolled. What do you think ? Do they really deserve all the cr*p that happened to them just because they had a "Dark Passenger" speaking for them when they were 10 ? I don't think so... Dramatic movie, was close to make me cry. 9/10, John W.

A British drama not about Royalty or Blair is rare these days. But this film delivers everything you would expect from a master class in film making and I feel more in some ways than Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire'. A film that will appeal to the youth of today and with valuable lessons to be learnt. I also think this movie can raise questions on justice and reform and also will emotionally strike chords with parents. The acting is not amateur but professional and direction is picture perfect. The language is also understandable and would work as well if promoted in other countries and across the waters in Hollywood. I'm not sure on the budget this movie had and I have never heard of the lead actor until this movie - it has created such a great first impression with me and I know many other people. This is a must watch and much support and recognition is needed, Potter move over.
